Ticket price increase in August 2009?

Can someone confirm if Disney really does "adjust" ticket prices in August every year. We are going with my brother in law's family in September and all of the tickets are covered except for his 3 year old daughter. We were going to just get her ticket when we arrive but I remembered that last year ticket prices went up in August. If that's a regular thing we'll want to buy it before we go.

Does anyone know for sure if that's there standard procedure? I know we can't be positive what they will do this year but just looking for some guidance.

Thanks.

With the economy the way it is this year I doubt we will see a price increase this year and even if we do you will know about it before they do.

If and when they do raise their price it will be mentioned on this site and others which will give you the time to buy any ticket before the price increase.

They usually do raise prices.
As to be expected.
And, as to be expected, some folks on here will whine and complain and state that: Disney is now, due to the increase, no longer affordable.:snore:
They may not raise prices this year, due to the "economic downturn"...we'll see.
I know that other parks DID raise their prices for 2009. Time will tell that Disney will do.

I was noticing that in another thread the other day. The thread was about a projected decline in attendance, and people were acting alarmed about the projection that attendance may be projected to drop by 10%, as if that's a horrible thing. I was noticing that, on the one hand, people whine and complain, as you just said, about Disney not being affordable because they're doing well enough to be able to keep raising prices. But on the other hand, when, due to different factors, attendance starts to drop and Disney has to start offering deep discounts to attract people to come, people start threads expressing grave concern about that, too.

The joyz of the interwebz.... Folks complain about the price of tea in China.

Within a couple of days we had the thread forecasting doom and gloom because an analyst predicted a 10% drop in attendance and another thread saying MK was about to set a record for attendance and was extending their hours...

If they do decide to increase prices, I am assuming that my package for September (that is already paid for) will not be affected (ie, I won't have to pay the difference in ticket prices)?

I remember last year they raised them while I was there in August. If you plan on going in the future, buy them now. Also if you know you'll be going again buy a 10 day ticket with no expiration.

I got a 10 day with water parks, park hopper, and no expiration for $500 last year.

Today, a 5 day ticket with all that (except expiration) costs $322.

This year a 10 day with what I explained above costs $537. A 5 day without expiration costs $322. Therefore, $322 x 2 = 644. Savings of $107 plus any price increases for whichever year afterwards that you go.

We have a vacation already booked for September and have it including 6 day passes. When we get there, we may or may not add a seventh day to the tickets, but that would depend on when we arrive (we're driving down). If we arrive too late, we won't, but if we arrive earlier, we were thinking about doing so. Anyways, do you know if they increase prices, and I attempt to add an additional day, will I also have to pay the overall increase in price (since I'm adjusting the booking?).

Thanks!
