Just rode Tiana for the first time and the ride video disney released before opening truly didn't do it justice. This ride needs sone serious help. I know Disney has cheaped out on attractions as of late but this is ridiculous. Huge portions of the ride with nothing to see. Mediocre effects throughout when there is something to see. Soundtrack really needs something else. Usually I don't like to see movie tunes reused but maybe they should think about it this case.

I thought I could at least accept the change no matter the theme just based on the great ride system but this is just a disaster.

You forgot to add in the fact that the mediocre attraction is rarely working at 100% or even close.

What a silly comment. People can’t have different opinions on a theme park ride?
Can't you take a joke? Do I have to put a winky face? Of course we're allowed to have different opinions. I remember saying the exact same thing to people on this board when things about TBA looked "more promising" to some. People said I would be proven wrong about the ride, and I was proven right.

I mean, it's hard not to compare when what existed before was so great. It's clear this ride didn't have nearly as much thought or care put into it as its predecessor.
It’s a log flume ride with different decorations than it had before. The new ones are more modern, more relevant, and more layered (with the screens.) The queue is detailed and sets the story. I never followed a story with SM, just oh, look - there’s a rabbit, there’s a bear.

I enjoyed something different, had a ball riding it, could have had clearer sound when Tiana was speaking.

When people exited, it was all excited chatter about who got how wet, not a critique of the storyboard.
I brought it up because you said the theming was mindless and boring. A lot of people disagree with that and enjoy the attraction.

Wow, I'm really diving into this discussion! Is there a lifeguard? Here goes!

My main issue is that mushroom scene; it feels empty with just 3D screens of Tiana and Louis, with long stretches of nothing.

Personally, I loved the adrenaline STRESSFUL / SCARY rush of Splash Mountain as you climbed that hill, especially right before the drop, and the joyful ending with Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah always made me feel so happy. We did it! We survived! HUZZAH!

With that said, I get that some guests might find that buildup scary. Which is probably why Disney went for a more whimsical climb with Mama Odie. And speaking of nostalgia, remember Food Rocks? I think they could've tapped into that with more h veggie animatronics.
