that's a concern right there, but I get what your saying.I think I would have preferred a more nuanced plot but I also think what we are getting is the best this crop of Imagineers can pull off.
It's a salute to all of New Orleans, but mainly Tiana! You got a minute and a half!

How many classic Disney attractions have a nuanced plot? I’d say from the sound of it, TBA has more of a plot than POTC, HM, Jungle Cruise, Splash etc. What it seems that it might be lacking is a change of tone or some sort of conflict. Something to break up the happy go lucky musical critter hunt for a couple scenes. For all the comparisons to Splash, that change really only took place from the very end of the LP scenes to top of the lift hill. Not a whole lot but it was enough. For me it’s not so much about fearing it’s juvenile but fearing it will be monotone. Which is a shame on a ride with that length, layout and 3 drops. If Facilier and friends aren’t an option, the shrinking down rumor (assuming some threat of being eaten by Gators or Frogs depending on what we’ve been transformed into) wouldn’t have been a bad option. At this point I’d settle for any issue requiring Mama Odies intervention.
Mirrors the way Disney is now. Not as much conflict or substance in things the company creates or replaces things with.
People like conflict or substance triumphs when invited to mimic the success, even if it is melodramatic or expected.
And this does not have that.
There was mist at the top of Expedition Everest???The biggest mist crime has to be at the top of Expedition Everest.
They've been doing ride testing with Imagineers for months, so unfortunately probably notNow we are seeing people testing the ride. Is that an indicator of a date
Probably not. Although I could’ve sworn a few people said we were getting a date this week. Hopefully soon. Now we are seeing people testing the ride. Is that an indicator of a date
Well, the Imagineers testing are no longer wearing safety vests during testing so that's an advancement in terms of getting us closer to an actual opening date. They've been doing ride testing with Imagineers for months, so unfortunately probably not
Wanted to address this without further derailing the thread.... I think it's a little bit of both. The steam has returned, less prominent than it once was. However, it was never as prominent as it is in our memories. The Mandela effect. I think the steam was always (and videos from the time support this) coming from the caboose, but I too remember it to be a lot more grand, having steam the length of the station. Today it's still in the caboose, just a bit more understated. Are you guys talking about the little puffs of steam coming out of the boilers? Or am I missing a moment where the initial effect of the trains rolling in with a big cloud? Or am I misremembering the initial effect?
So excited to see this work with the budget and length of this attraction. If the number of animatronics comes anywhere close to something like Frozen Journey, it's going to be fantastic. The smells and other sensory bits sound fun and memorable as well. Can't wait!My mistake, then. I feel like we spend a lot of time discussing all of the plot points that will supposedly make the ride path make sense. The plot will be the biggest (and fairest) criticism of TBA. It will feel forced into an existing ride system because it was.
At least it will be a feast for the eyes, ears, and nose.
This might be in a Martin vid or something, but I believe mist at the top of EE did exist but it messed with the sensors on the critical track flips. There was mist at the top of Expedition Everest???
We'll be breathing CO2??!!? That'll kill us more than the Skyliner!!Digging a bit, it sounds like they've installed a proper, multi-spout CO2 fog cannon at the crest of the lift hill. While by far the most expensive option, this (on paper) is a much more reliable system than the cheaper pressurized chamber foggers that require regular cleanings... and won't interfere with the ride system as water-based misters do.
Good on 'em.
Riding over a cushion of mist! They'll end the fog effects when they discover it makes the descent hill slippery.
Silver lining: binge riders who do survive will have experienced enough oxygen deprivation that they’ll be ready to scale Everest after just 10 trips into the bayou. Guess we know where Adventures by Disney will be taking us in 2025!We'll be breathing CO2??!!? That'll kill us more than the Skyliner!!
Unless she’s relying on Bioreconstruct photos or permits, buyer beware.Did anyone ever find that supposed source from Alicia Stella where she backtracked on her prior claim about there being a shrinking plot?
