Too bad there’s no lemon law for Disney…If this were a new car I just purchased I would have already taken it back and insist on a replacement or my money back.

Because the whole purpose of replacing Splash with Tiana was to show Disney heard the loud voices that protested and NOTHING would be left to show any connection to Splash. Wipe away the memories that Splash ever existed and maybe guests will have nothing to remind them of the fact that Disney ever let it exist for so long.I don't get why they didn't keep SOME of the animatronics from Splash. Surely they could have redressed them or something.
We got to do it on our last trip. A huge let down. I think it will be on my list of attractions that I won't care if I miss doing it.I've been to MK three times since TBA opened and haven't been able to ride it yet as it was down all three visits.
Except for the vivid memories that allows us to know how much better it was compared to TBABecause the whole purpose of replacing Splash with Tiana was to show Disney heard the loud voices that protested and NOTHING would be left to show any connection to Splash. I think the REAL reason Splash was changed to Tiana was to change all the animatronics to the latest technology that could be maintained in a cost effective manner (or so they thought).I don't get why they didn't keep SOME of the animatronics from Splash. It’s wild and embarrassing. At this level of effects down it should be closed for refurb.
Meanwhile Disneyland’s is reportedly running perfectly right now.
I think that’s what was pitched to the maintenance department/Jeff Vahle and was ultimately what sealed the deal. If there was no “business” incentive it wouldn’t have happened, and the PatF IP certainly wasn’t it.I think the REAL reason Splash was changed to Tiana was to change all the animatronics to the latest technology that could be maintained in a cost effective manner (or so they thought).
I suspect the old animatronic technology was becoming to costly to maintain, no spare parts existed, forcing them to get replacement parts custom made, etc.
The change to Tiana was a “kill two birds with one stone” and it enabled them to update the technology to something that can be maintained AND erase Splash to gain social justice credits.
I just find it funny that before we were told Splash mountain was offensive they often used images of splash mountain in Ads, park maps, TV commercials, TV shows, and zippity-doo-dah was used EVERYWHERE in Disney Ads, commercials, TV shows and in the parks.
