Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Hey, maybe Woke Mountain or whatever they're gonna call it should have Louis say just before the big drop, "Hey, I can see Disneyland from here! Isn't that thematically inconsistent?"

"A Swiss Mountain? This is New Orleans!"

Imagineering takes themselves too serious these days. In the past, sightlines within the park, as long as no backstage or the outside world was present, weren't meant to only allow you see that specific land. Obviously care was taken to avoid the most egregious visual intrusions within the park (like that giant Matterhorn tree), but this "You can't see anything except this land" trend is newer and foolish.

It’s not new. Disneyland originally didn’t even allow you to move between the lands.

An idea that was quickly abandoned, and further laid to rest when Walt stuck a giant mountain in the park in just 4 years. Obviously you don't want to see Space Mountain on Main Street- but the occasional visual slip isn't a problem and certainly isn't worth using in crappy ride dialogue for cheap laughs.

If it does get pushed back, Splash will just close and remain empty. They are dead serious about removing it, and Josh has not been shy about bringing it up.
When was the last time they brought it up? Like two weeks after they announced it? 4 months ago? They aren’t going to close it and leave it empty. Who’s going to protest it being open? You? Go right ahead.

They’ll close it when they are ready to start work on the update. And they will, eventually. Maybe they’ll even start during the closure. I don’t know. How the hell would you know?

Edit: I stand corrected. There was just a brief mention of it in an IG post. Not by Josh though.

Josh brought it up during his town hall a couple weeks ago, when they rolled out the fifth key initiative. They are tied together.
Given that the “fifth key” is just a political piece of advertisement and diversion, like Splash, makes sense. I could continuously repeat what I’ve been saying, that what’s really happening is silencing stories and heritage in promotion of money and brand.

But I’m done. 90% of people today are way too ignorant. I’m just going to give it a rest. You should as well.

They'll just turn off the music and lights until they can get enough money to overlay it, call it Splash Mountain: COMPLETE DARKNESS. All the APs will flock to Disneyland to ride it and then buy a Tiana popcorn bucket at the nearby giftshop.
They’ll stand in a huge line and Tweet how wonderful the popcorn bucket is. It’ll sell out in two days, whereas every other Disney park around the globe will have those buckets lingering over a year.

The 5th key was announced right before the layoffs, so people have probably completely forgotten about that PR stunt by now. Inclusion means adding more diverse stuff, not changing the only attraction that represents African folklore with yet another attraction representing a European fairy tale.
Yeah, it was an ill-timed PR stunt to soften the blow of a business move which negatively affects thousands of CMs.

Edit: 28,000 CMs

But Save the Children from those critters with southern accents!

They’ll tweet about how that “Brer Oswald Guy is probably crying and trying to kill himself”. I wish they’d just forget about me. Someone checked, and apparently they’re still seething about me and another guy, despite the fact that they were the ones to bully us off Twitter.
