Zootopia Mountain? Woof.

I'm kind of amazed that THAT never got any serious consideration. Imagine those terrifying Zootopia stans that (used to?) lurk on this board and would have come out of the woodwork if that had became reality.
I LOVE Zootopia!!!!! And I’m not terrifying—And I’m not a furry. But I WOULD be okay with Cartoon Spin being rethemed to Zootopia, even though I’m also a Roger Rabbit fan.

I don’t think it makes much of any sense in Toontown (which originated in Roger Rabbit, And isn’t going anywhere right now).
Yeah, that’s a problem with designing a Zootopia attraction. It exists in a parallel universe where humans never happened, so it’s difficult to fit into any current land.

According to Twitter, they just found a writer for a new Haunted Mansion movie.

I feel obligated to announce that if they mess with that ride too, I quit.
The writer in question, Katie Dippold, is responsible for the "progressive" all-female Ghostbusters reboot in 2016... so yeah. Expect this one to be heavily female-centric and probably star either Melissa McCarthy or Amy Schumer.

Whatever happened to the rumored Guillermo Del Toro version?!?!

I don’t think they will touch Mansion. The Mansion fans are strong, and would make things unbearable.

But I’m sure a Villains retheme has been thrown around before.
Also, Mansion moves a lot of merch.

I still say a rework of the Villain Mountain idea could’ve been an interesting Splash retheme.

Doing it wrong all over again— Now *that’s* a faithful movie reboot!

Would’ve loved to see Del Toro’s version... and Del Toro’s Hobbit...

Man, is Del Toro the best last name ever or what?

Apparantley he is not female or woke enough and does not have a vision of a light hearted comedy Disney wants.

Weren't you just making fun of obsessed 'stans'?
Yes, but I've been clear and consistent about the fact that Mansion is THAT sacred cow for me in the way that Splash or Zootopia clearly is/has been for others. Undoubtedly people have been rolling their eyes at some of my posts about Mansion particularly over the years the same way I am doing the same at some of the things I see here, including those Zootopia stans. I'd like to think I'm the rational one, but we all know how that goes.

And, even if I understand the reasons for Splash leaving, there have been a lot of decisions they've made over the past five years particularly that have chipped away at what I value about the parks. HM being significantly altered or leaving entirely would be the point of no return for me, but it wouldn't be like I was rage quitting out of nowhere for no other reason.

I really hope his mansion film would have been more fun and closer to the ride’s spirit than Crimson Peak. And with 100% less incest!
Del Toro's film has been in pre-production limbo/Hell since it's announcement. Pretty sure Disney wanted a PG film and he wanted a "Scary" PG-13/R rated film. Which explains why he continued with Crimson Peak. Probably the closest to a "Haunted Mansion" film we're gonna get from him.

Del Toto also just seems to get over excited for things and say he’s going to do things he just does not have the time to actually accomplish.
