Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I'm a lover of Hot Dog on a Stick. A nice corndog with a frozen cherry lemonade to wash it down. Perfection.
I don't hate their food. But usually a mall has some tastier options available, and so Hot Dog on a Stick never wins. Its how I feel about Poki Bowls currently. I don't dislike them, but I'd rather have better food that's usually just a few steps away.

I don’t have a link but I’ve ridden multiple times (love the steamboat!) and I know it’s there. I’m sure a full recording is out there.

Just looked it up. The other videos indeed cut it off right before they literally say "Tiana's Bayou adventure is part of Critter Country..." Interesting place to cut it off for a vlogger that had been postulating on what land the new ride would be going in etc. Must be saving that content for a new video or he just missed it. I find that sometimes they have a bit of tunnel vision and miss some obvious things.

I don't think I'm aware either, what part is incorrect?

They started using an older recording that refers to the NOS station as Frontierland station. I noticed all way back when they started running the trains in preparation for the post pandemic reopening on a fresh baked video he recorded from outside the front gate. I couldn’t even really make out the words in the video but could hear that the narration was missing a lot of the reverb that the previous one had. The craziest part is that not one other soul has mentioned this on any of the Disney sites/ chat rooms.

Good catch! Wow, the saga continues…

They’re so unorganized these days. I still don’t think they’ve realized they turned on the wrong train station announcements since they reopened after the pandemic.

@TrainsOfDisney when was the last time you were on the Twain and heard the narration that says TBA is part of Critter Country? Seems like the narration may have been changed in the last 7-9 days.
I’ve ridden in the last couple of days but I’m not 100% sure I listened that carefully since I had already heard the new narration a couple of times.

I’ll try to get back on soon for research purposes! Haha.

Rode again today and they have indeed updated the narration! It now plays almost there music and the narrator then says “while you’re in critter country….”

The plot thickens!

Figures. Just when I found something to be happy about.

Makes you wonder…

Were they not ready to unveil this info/ was it released too early?

Did they change their mind on what land TBA is going in?

I thought that the narrations that said it was going to be in Critter Country were there the first day after the ride closed?
It was. I’m silly enough that I rode the last steamboat and the last steam train past / through splash the night of the closing and then I rode them both the next day.

The original narration on day 1 said that tianas bayou adventure was part of critter country. That has now been changed.

Why does every.single.project modern WDI scare me these days? Here’s some work going on at Tiana’s Place where they are painting the wrought iron YELLOW😕

Why does it seem like every year Disneyland is more and more becoming a parody of itself? Everything has to be over the top instead of creating a place that feels lived in and harmonious with its surroundings. See the doll house colors on Sleeping Beauty Castle, what they did to the Snow White facade and the San Fransokyo redo of Pacific Wharf. Every ride or attraction or restaurant is just thought of as its own unique thing as if they all exist in solitary confinement. Works as an Instagram pic for sure but not as great for someone experiencing the “theme” park in real time.

Makes me scared about all the exterior/ facade work for TBA. What non sense will they eliminate the beautiful cobblestone facade with the foliage on the chimney for? It’s just more examples of Disneyland moving away from being a theme park to being a IP/ character driven park. None of the examples I gave above are destroying my time by any means but it just seems like they keep chipping away (in many categories) at all the things that made Disneyland great.

I really agree with you, @mickEblu! When I saw the recent photos of SanFransokyo, I felt as if new Disney projects have to "scream" at their guests. Pixar Pier is already the worst offender in Anaheim. Maybe it is just a mirror of today's approach to having to be noticed. But it's not a good look for the Disney parks.

I suppose it's too much to hope that it is really a primer for some shade of gold paint.
I was also wondering if that was some sort of base coat. (Not that renderings are Gospel) but there's nothing in that one rendering we've seen to indicate that YELLOW is going to be the final color.

I think this is another "wait and see" situation, and perhaps another argument for full scrims on projects like this.

I don't know what it is (well I do actually but that's neither here nor there) but everything Disney does with "IP" in their parks these days is just SO tacky and cheap and corporate looking. Like it's an advertisement/commercial above anything else. It all just looks so gaudy and tasteless.
