For what it’s worth, while waiting in line for signings at the Pixar/Disney Animation booth, I spoke to an attendee who said he works for The Walt Disney Company and he said that Tiana will be hand-drawn animated. And when I asked if he really meant that and not “3D animation that looks like 2D like Wish, Far From The Tree, Feast, and Paperman,” he said “no, it’s actually gonna be fully 2D/hand-drawn animated.”
He said he was trying to make his way up The Walt Disney Company to work at Walt Disney Animation Studios as a promise of a dying wish he made to his mother before she passed away and that he’s fighting for animation to be better treated at Disney, even in terms of making sure he gets a very personal hand-drawn animated project made and that it’s kept hand-drawn animated.
We’ll find out in 5 hours

Well, here I am. Inside the Premiere Stage at the Disney D23 Ultimate Fan Event for the last big panel I’m excited for: Creating Tiana’s World, where 1 guest who’ll be here’s @JoyceSherri, the director & head writer of Walt @DisneyAnimation Studios’ upcoming #ThePrincessAndTheFrog @DisneyPlus sequel series #Tiana, which I hope they will announce at the panel is fully 2D/hand-drawn animated. The moment of truth’s hopefully upon us.

Well, folks, no answer on if Tiana’s gonna be hand-drawn animated or not, but Yvette Nicole Brown (the panel’s host) said it’s now in production for Disney+ and that the series will explore Tiana discovering a bigger world, very new and different magic, and that she’ll learn what it means to be a leader as the princess of Maldonia.

Why? There is no indication its not hand drawn 2D. There is no reason to freak out just because there was no official announcement. The project is moving forward and it'll be whatever it'll be. Just be patient.I give up! It’s not hand drawn animated!

If it is hand drawn, it would represent a massive reversal of WDAS’s direction over the last 15 years.

And? That is still no indication that this project is not hand drawn. Until its announced the type of animation or released that is the only way we'll know. Until then anything else is just uninformed speculation.

I would find it very unlikely to be a mo-cap show. So lets not even put that out that there for speculation.

As you appear to be so informed on this project please tell us all what type of animation is being used. And please provide sources on the information so we can verify that its factual and not speculation.

If it's hand-drawn, it won't be by WDAS anyway. Probably whatever's left of DisneyToon or they'll outsource it.
