Does anyone have problems coming home and throwing things you used at Disney away? Not even the souvenirs, I'm talking like just everyday use things you bring with you, like empty bottles of sunscreen, used up deordorant, empty water bottles, worn out shoes. Like I'll be done with them and I can't bring myself to throw them out cause they've been to Disney with me. Anyone else?

Not a problem for me. Though the Fast Passes and stubbs form Animal Kingdom coupons are taking up some drawer space :D

Ah, yes.

The 'Disney' file has expanded over the years.

Old maps, receipts, hotel stays, Times guides, hotel key/charge cards, etc...

and in the other drawer: napkins, BBQ sauce, knives, forks, spoons (I don't 'stock' up on this stuff, it's just extras from the trip! )

The forks, knives and spoons are nice! We have so many Disney park maps at my house! Soup, napkins, everything. I think I have every Telecast from when I worked down there! I can't part with anything!

I have a "Holiday Box" where everything gets put so I can look at it all when I need a fix! But it does hurt if I throw anything away from WDW, strange as normally I am a Monica style clutter-free zone!

I just threw out a pile of Disney receipts. I still have a couple of shopping bags sitting on my desk from my last trip, but those will probably get chunked soon, too. I gave my mom a napkin from the resort that I happened to find in my pocket, but otherwise, I likely would have thrown that out, too. I look at little things like that and think "aww, cool" for a few seconds, then "I need to get rid of this junk" soon after. :)

I tend to keep too many things - receipts, park maps, FastPasses (she doesn't complain about those, their in a drawer, out of sight). Most recently, I tried to sneak a wrapper from a Mickey ice cream bar home. Needless to say, it didn't make it.

I do need to go thru some things and discard some stuff, I don't think I need 10 Magic Kingdom maps from our last trip, 2 or 3 should suffice. I like keeping those little things that never fail to bring a smile to my face. :)

Well I keep 2 copies of each park map, my FPs / UEs, receipts and even my Mickey soap! (Never to be touched!). I'm such a Disneyholic!

I will confess to having some shopping bags and the coloured plastic cutlery. (That's colored plastic flatware to our American friends)

TIP

I love keeping things as memories from my trip to WDW. I purchase a photo album (the large one) with the current year noted on the cover and binding.

I put all my memories from our trip in it. Including maps and event guides from all 4 parks, napkins, airline boarding passes, our park tickets, photo p/u cards, meal recepits from Character Breakfast's and or dinner/show.

It's a great way to go back over the years and see what you did, how much you paid and what was new each year.

Have a magical day!

Only 18 days until my next WDW experience! :sohappy: :sohappy:

I never throw anything out. Are you kidding? I still have my room key in my wallet from last September (And my AP now that I think about it) And don't even get me started on how many pens I have that say "Walt Disney Resorts" on them.

Nope, nobody in this house throws out anything Disney related. Somehow it ends up incorporated in a scrapbook of some sort.....and we have ALOT of scrapbooks.

I can throw away everyday things like deodorant and used toothbrushes. However, I can't throw away anything that comes from there. The only exception is melted park maps or other things that get ruined in the rain. We do fix that though, by picking up fresh copies for every park that we don't use. It's fun to look at old maps and things.

Not to be confused with a Spork

Another important piece of plastic flatware is the Spork.

A spork is an unusual dining implement that is part spoon, part fork. Basically, it is a spoon with tines on the end, suitable for using as a fork, while still having a spoon portion. It is the utensil of choice for eating cole slaw, potato salad, and many other take-out foods.

Please don't confuse sporks with woons, those wooden planks you get with ice cream and "malts" at the ballgame/fairs/etc. Woons are not sporks, and are in fact just a cheap ripoff of a spoon.

Do you have Sporks in the UK?

I'm dying! I thought my family were the only ones that use the term "spork"!!! Have never heard it in public!
