I'd noticed that as well, but my attention span is so short that I haven't really bothered to wonder why it's happening.

The views count is updated once per hour, whereas the reply count is updated instantly. This is done to reduce some of the processing load on the system, with the aim of increasing the overall speed and responsive of the forum.

I'm not sure that is entirely the whole problem. For example, this thread before I entered it said that it had 11 posts and 11 views. The last post was Maria's several hours ago, so the post vs. view numbers should be correct. That would mean that everyone who viewed this thread, posted in it, right? (11-11) But I have viewed this thread three previous times since it started and never posted (before this one.) Wouldn't that mean that the view count should have been at least 14? Or does an individual only count once as seeing it--no matter how many time they actually view the thread? I mean, Maria has viewed it several times over time obviously, so would she count as one view or several?

I understood your question because I have wondered the same.... do our own views count for the total? I think they still do, but as Steve said, now the system updates every certain minutes, and not immediately like before. Did I get it right? ;)
