Hey all,

Just curious to what the general consensus about The Wave was.

My wife and I went out with some friends last night and we had a great experience. Food was great, service was awesome.

Just curious if you guys had similar experiences.

I went there for breakfast and thought it to be among the worst table service restaurant at WDW. It has the ambiance of dining in a convention center basement, the food was very average, and the service poor. Never been back since.

Glad to hear you had a better experience.

My experiences in the dining room have been similar to Steve's. The service is middling and the ambiance is that of a cafeteria. The food is fairly unremarkable. However, the lounge is excellent, the bartenders are personable, and the lounge menu has a few good nibbles if you want to stop in for lunch.

Great bar, but concierge friend who did previews summed it up best before it even opened -- "it's like eating in a submarine." Food I've had is good, tho.

When we visited in September, my husband and I were looking for a place to eat on our way to The MK. It was our first day, arriving at The WL at 4:00. We dropped our bags in our room and headed for The CR (pur favorite resort) for dinner at The Wave. We were not disappointed. We were 1/2 hour early for our ADR's so we had a drink in the bar. The CM there was very friendly and the drinks were good. For dinner, I ordered the Dry rubbed Flat Iron Steak with au-gratin potatoes and summer vegetables and my husband had Seared Lamb Chops - Dijon reduction, toasted summer risotto with wild rice and vegetable of the moment. We were both very pleased with our meals and I must say that it was one of the better of our trip....we also ate at Narcosees, Artist Point and Cat Cora just for quality comparison. I would go again on my next trip without hesitation. I noticed a little girl at a nearby table and she was having Grilled Cheese - on rainbow bread...looked yummy and fun! :cat:

I had the flat iron but subbed the winter vegetables for green beans. Enjoyed it a lot.

My wife had the Naturally Raised Chicken Breast. She enjoyed it but I think the few bites of my meal that she snuck she liked better.

We also had the seasonal soup which was a corn and bacon chowder which we both enjoyed.

It's a shame some of you guys seemed to have such poor service.

Our server was fantastic. I tend to pick on our servers initially just to see how they react and she immediately fired back good naturedly. She have us great recommendations and kept our drinks full.

Great bar, but concierge friend who did previews summed it up best before it even opened -- "it's like eating in a submarine." Food I've had is good, tho.
my one experience in the bar happened when Auburn ran back that missed field goal on Saturday night. The people in there just exploded.

Thanks for your sharing everyone.

My absolute favorite breakfast restaurant (buffet) at the world: quiet, never crowded, inexpensive by Disney standards, great service, and most importantly the food is absolutely delicious and completely different than what's served at most breakfast places. I know some people don't like the ambience/decor but I find it attractive and relaxing - anyway I'm going for the food. Sweet potato pancakes and (heart attack inducing) cheese grits here I come!

We went in October and the food was average and the service was horrible. Our waitress made us feel like we were an inconvenience to her.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Seems pretty split. Some with great experiences and others with not. Which I guess is the case with most things.
