Thoughts on Visiting in May

Hi all :wave:

We just returned from our trip yesterday and while we have enjoyed going in January, we need a break from that and would like to go at a different time.
We are thinking that May 2011 will be our next trip.

What are you thoughts on going in May? Weather, crowds, deals, rates, promos?
Just as a note, I do not care much for the humidity, is it very humid in May, similar to the summer months in FL?

We've visited several times in May and in different parts of the month. On our honeymoon, we were there during Memorial Day Weekend. Obviously, crowds shot up that weekend. The least crowded of the times we went was the first week in May. Weather was still warm, in the 90's, but didn't feel as bad as July and August. We've also found that it's rained very little on our trips taken during that month.

I don't remember exactly what deals we've used in May. If I remember correctly, I think we were AP holders one time. In my opinion, it's a great month to go.

I was there the first week of May 2009. I expected afternoon rain showers, but never had any. It was warm and we wore sleeveless tops all week - never got too cool even in the evenings. Crowds were very low. We did lots and still had time left at the end of the day! It is a great time to visit!

In early May, crowds are lower. There are less crowded times like probably the trip you just returned from, but May crowds are not bad. I didn't experience a lot of humidity last May. August is when I found it to be absolutely unbearably humid, and it isn't the same in May. Our only issue with May is rain rain rain! Last trip it rained for 3 of our 6 days, pretty much all day. However that is just bad luck, and won't happen each week.

We had the buy 4, get 3 deal last year. Hopefully that will be back in 2011, or something else similar.

Hmm ok great insight so far, thanks everyone! The weather sounds pretty doable.

I forgot to mention that we'd be going during 1st or 2nd week of May, definitely not near holiday time!

My husband and I went the week before Memorial Day back in 2004, the weather and crowds were fantastic. We only had one "hot" day but the humidity wasn't bad. One of my favorite things about May is that you get to see Epcot during the Flower & Garden Festival.
