Thoughts on the Contemporary?

Hi all :wave:

Although we LOVE the Polynesian, we're open to branching out and trying other Disney Resorts after our next trip.
We've always liked the look and location of the Contemporary, but I have read some negative reviews about it, saying that the rooms were dusty and dirty, the CMs were rude, and there was a big problem with birds living and doing their business in the pools.

What are your thoughts on the Contemporary? Is it worth it?

Disney's Contemporary Resort is one of our family's favorites.

Breakfast at Chef Mickeys followed by a leisurely stroll to The Magic Kingdom is awesome.
People say that it has bad theming, but to me, the fact that you can stand on the fourth floor concourse level and watch the monorail come right inside the resort kind of makes it "Contemporary" to me thus the theming is just what it's supposed to be.
The Contemporary shops can't be beat. There's three of them, and the rooms are the biggest on property.

We also like Disney's Polynesian resort except for one thing...If you are in a Long house far from the Great Ceremonial House, and it's raining, you're going to get soaking wet. At The Contemporary Resort, even if you are in the farthest wing rooms, you are always under cover when walking to the Main Tower building.

Just got back from staying at the Poly for the 1st time and it will be hard for us to stay anywhere else. I've only been thru the Comtemporary on the monorail, but when/if we want to choose a different resort I would prob. choose a bunch of others B4 the Contemporary, but again I've never been there so don't have much to speak about - just something about the Poly surroundings, relaxing music and sounds of waterfalls, and still a great location that calls me back!
