Thoughts from my recent visit to the World

Give me a break. I'm not even going to read past your first bullet because there's so much nonsense. You expect people to believe that the bathroom floor was "covered with hair" and that there were literal poop stains on your sheets?

Also, your claim that your Port Orleans room was larger is objectively false. Your Port Orleans room was 314 square feet, exactly the same as your Caribbean Beach room.

I've learned a long time ago that one persons "hair all over" may be another persons one or two hairs - possibly their own.
One persons "poop stained sheets" may be another persons barely discernible discoloration.

I've learned to be particularly wary of people who make numbered negative reviews.
Look, I can take any one of my Disney trips and make a numbered list of the negatives if I wanted to do so.
If I wanted to log every negative in memory, or on an itemized list - I'd have a list.
But that's not the way I spend my vacations.

I think fastpass plus has made crowds worse, just my honest opinion.

Please tell me how you thought it made the crowds worse. Why didn't you like it? Was it hard to get the attractions you wanted? I have a trip coming up in July and we can start doing our fast passes in May. It'll be our first time for FP+. I'm an early planner by nature, so hopefully it'll work out for us. Thanks.

Please don't worry. For most of us it makes life much easier. We find that we are able to get a lot more done using the new system especially now that fourth and so on FP can be made in the app instead of a kiosk.

Still be excited, we still had fun. The shine is gone a little right now but it's still a fun vacation.
I just now realized we'll be there during "Gay Days". Not a big deal, but that makes sense why the parks are supposed to be quite crowded, and difficult to snag a good dining reservation! The resorts seem to be filled up too!

Don't go to Magic Kingdom on the "official" Magic Kingdom day. The crowds are insane. But the rest of the parks (and MK on the rest of the days) aren't bad.

Rather than walking into say, Hollywood Studios - where in the past I'd make mad dash across the park to the Toy Story Mania kiosk in hope of grabbing a couple of paper fast passes for the family, now we have an appointment.
We can get to the parks first thing in the morning as we like to (but most always later than rope drop, because that's the way things work out) hit RnR and ToT usually with a minimal wait, then have time to grab something to eat, and otherwise take our time - knowing we have our scheduled Toy Story appointment.
It worked the same way for us in other parks of course.

Magic Kingdom.. built in a year.. Epcot built in just over a year.. how much time.. ONE YEAR.. period.. FOR A COMPLETE PARK.. oh it cost money to do it that way.. but it can be done and has in the past.. the problem is that Disney does not want to spend the money.. that's the rub..

That was also a long time ago. Things were somewhat easier back then. A big thing was that... no one was in the parks because they weren't built yet! So it's easier to move things around when you don't have confined spaces (figuratively) to work in. Disney is spending the money, they're just not spending it correctly.

As I said earlier in the thread, they need to refurb the existing rides and bring them up to par. Then they need to move, as one, to the next project, do that to completion, then start the next and so on. But what have they done? They threw all the cards on the table at once... Frozen, Star Wars Land, Toy Story Land, Pandora, Rivers of Light, Disney Springs, Wilderness Lodge Bungalows, resort soft and hard goods refurbs.... I don't even know if that is everything. They've spread themselves too thin and now ALL the projects are gonig to suffer because of it.

So we just got back from six days in the world. It was myself, hubby, and 10 year old nephew. We also had our friends and their two kids join us for two days. I have some thoughts and would love to hear yours.
. . . .

6. Pandora looks no where near done, neither does frozen in epcot.

8. There are as many Brits at Disneyworld as there are Americans which tells me Disney Paris must not be so great.

12. Disney Springs is still nowhere near completion and I feel it's lost its character.

Sounds like the Zeigarnik Effect....you just need to keep watching for finished projects at Disney World and you'll be able to think more clearly. ;):D

PS: Are you really bothered by Brits at Disney World? o_O

My covered in hair means COVERED and poop stained means poop stained. As for it being a negative review it wasn't but it surely wasn't as glowing as last trips. I'm generally a glass half full type but these were my reviews this time around some good some bad.

Going back to the original topic of the thread. We just returned last Tuesday and one thing that we noticed was the increased security. Not just at the gate but throughout the park as well. I think there has to be a balancing point between making the guest feel safe and keeping the Magic. With guards in every store and walking down the streets it just seemed a bit much.
We noticed that as well but with the recent attacks in Paris and Brussels I was actually happy about that. I felt safe.

I could care less what you believe, my husband was literally mopping the floor with a wet towel at midnight because it was so gross. I have no reason to make things up. Boy some of you need to get over yourselves.

No I said I thought it was cool there are so many British in Disneyworld, I love talking to people from all over. I never said it bothered me, quite the opposite. I'm just always surprised since Europe has Disney Paris but that has been explained.

For us it locked us in too much. For example the day we had selected as "water park" day was the coldest of our trip. But when I tried to switch it all the fast passes we had for the parks were all gone for any other days. Then another day our friends and their kids met us at magic kingdom but we couldn't go on the good rides together because we had our fast passes and hardly anything was open for them. It seems the stand by lines are longer and slower too. Make sure to make fast passes for 7 dwarfs mine train, Peter pan, Test Track, and toy story mania or you won't be able to they are gone way in advance

Why would you tolerate such a thing? If you mentioned it to the staff would you have been reassigned with no questions asked.

Not knocking you on this. It made me think, "I make an appointment to go to the dentist.. I don't want to make an appointment to have fun - kind of takes some of the fun out of it.."

Yes, but the paper fast pass was also an appointment.
An appointment that needed to be made much scrambling.

I guess it's about perspective and expectations.

We just got back from a stay at CBR, and we loved it. Quiet, clean, HUGE room (King bed, so probably just seems like more space). Busses were quick and everything was wonderful. I honestly have nothing I can say bad about CBR except that we were a LITTLE far from the main island. We could have asked for a closer room, but we didn't care THAT much.

I love FP+. No issues with it.

I love it here on wdwmagic, but sometimes I have to step back from these forums because people just over analyze everything. Seems there are a ton of posts where people are complaining all the time about how Disney isn't how it "used to be" and that might be. Before 2015, I haven't been since 2005 and I was just teenager so I wasn't really taking notes about the little things. But I still love Disney. We go and have a fantastic time. Sorry you were so disappointed, OP. Maybe you'll have better luck in a few years.
