I came across this thread a few years ago, and this must be the third time I've read through it.

The confused, live, misinformed, scared, saddened, and tragic comments capture the fateful events 23 years ago and their lingering effects more effectively, and in my opinion, more powerfully than well-crafted speeches, articles, or documentaries shown in schools each September 11th.

The thread is a humbling experience and a crucial reminder of what it means to be an American, especially amidst the present division.

Never forget.

Yesterday I posted a remembrance paragraph on a local app and was amazed to discover that another local man was killed on 9/11 , Simon Turner. There were. 69 British fatalities that day and 2 of them Originally lived less than 1 mile apart. Unbelievable. RIP.

9/11 was seared into our memories. One annoying item that didn’t stop for weeks was when my family up North kept getting phone calls daily immediately after the terrorist attacks from the media. Media was asking feedback comments and memories on the ones in their neighborhood who perished.
