A few updates as we approach our travel dates!
I booked and ADR for Sci Fi (lunch) on our second day. With all the rumors about it being moved or possibly taken out from te Star Wars contruction, I would like to get one last meal in. Hopefuly it will survive the construction. From what Ive read, the foundation of Sci Fi is shared w/ the same building on other side of fence for SWL land construction so itsa bit of a pickle. If anyone has any updates, Id love to hear them.
I have table for 1 at BoG and my parents are trying to book one at a similar time. We cant get a res for 3 so we are trying to sync up two separate reservations. Not even sure of they would seat us together since it would be separate.
Im also making a list of snacks and small plate foods I havent tried yet. My wife challenged me to go vegetarian for the month leading up to the trip. This way, I can chow down at Disney for a few days after being healthy for a month. So far Im on day 25. Its actually not been to bad. i havent exactly lost weight, but my pants fit better somehow! Of course I found a loophole too, (sort of). The local Mexican place has a veggie combo of cheese enchilada and bean burrito w/ rice and I get pizza with buffalo mozzarella. I have had those two items at least 5 or 6 times each. She called me out for "cheating" but I explained its technically still vegetarian. She agreed but made me promise to at least add spinach to the pizza. I agreed.
Sadly, our Cane Corso (Boo) passed away a few weeks ago. It has been extremely difficult for us. It was sudden, but he passed away in my arms, out our home. Our vet came to the house so Boo could be with us and be comfortable for his final moments. It crushed me beyond what you could understand and Im still dealing with it. Akira goes to the spots where Boo would lay inside the house or in the yard to relax and she just plops down and gives me a sad look and I completely break down. Its been confusing for her. My family has been so supporting and without them, it would be much more difficult. A few days at WDW with my folks and some time alone to relax will really be helpful. But as they say,"God works in mysterious ways" and in a stroke of fate, I received a call about two months ago (1 month before Boo passed) from a gentleman who had a Dutch Shepherd (same breed as Akira) and needed to find him a home. I agreed as I had met the dog previously and he has excellent genetics and is a little over a year old (still a puppy). Having him join our pack has been great and he is adjusting well.
We named Winthorpe Van Allen
He is almost twice Akira's size. With Boo not roaming the house, it has been nice to have another big dog here. I have begun his protection training as well. My wife and I were talking about my upcoming trip and she mentioned how whenever I wasnt home, she never worried as Boo guarded her Akira and the house with is life. She is glad to have Winnie and Akira since Ill be gone for a few days. Winnie (his nickname obviously and a Disney reference!) is nowhere the level of Boos protection training, but he is coming along nicely and already has his "bark on command" down pat. Usually, that is enough to scare anybody away, lol. He even watches the Disney youtube shows that I like. He is definitely a keeper! ( I watch Tim Tracker and DFB)
Apologies for a sad update, but I know many of you read my prior trip reports when we adopted Boo and have followed along on my Instagram as well so I thought I should inform you. But I am looking forward to a fun trip with my parents and will be updating with a list of the snacks and small plate foods I will be trying. Feel free to mention your favorite snacks too!!!
Thanks for following along, and since I yap about service dogs at Disney, here is a pic of service dog I am currently training , and he has PROPER gear on

And I am not saying this is the only type of gear a working dog should have, but you definitely wont find it on Amazon! lol
