We are currently booked the las week of august, 23rd to the 30th. I am thinking about moving from that week until September 13th until the 20th. Do you think it would be less crowded in September? Also does anyone have any idea when the Halloween Party ususally begins? Planning, Planning Planning, or what fun!:)

We usually go the last week in August until Labor Day(so I can get every second I can down there). Never had a problem. Last year, it was much busier than usual. (Thank heavens for fast passes.) We are familar with the staff at our resort and they recommended the third week in August bc free dining is not available which made it very quiet. Here's to hoping! My point is I would go in September if I were you! Either way you will be DW:)

I think you've got a very good chance of it starting that early. I went back a few yrs and saw it started on Sept 4th in 2009...so the 10th doesn't seem as early when looking at the 2009 start. Of course...I can only speculate, but given past dates...it seems likely that you'll be good.
Whats nice is that it is early Sept and it shouldnt be as crowded as it would be in Oct closer to Halloween.

We're planning to go from the Sat 31st Aug to Friday 13th Sept but no one else seems to be going during the same 2 weeks.

We've never been at this time before and I'm hoping crowd levels will be good. I'm aware that our first weekend coincides with Labor Day but we are planning to visit TL on the Sunday and MK on the Monday (according to TP's this appears to be the best plan of action!). Hopefully MK won't be too bad as I'm hoping most people would have visited on Sat & Sun.

After Labor Day I'm hoping the crowd levels will drop significantly but would appreciate any guidance or feedback on this

I went in late September in 2011 and it was HOT and busy! It's anyones guess as to what the crowds will be like this year. Every year it continually gets more and more crowded so I would I say just go whenever is best for you and hope for the best. Maybe you'll get lucky.

Now, are you talking those typical Florida showers where they last 10 minutes or a whole day washout?

Like grab a raft and float away. :) We were there this September and I thought the typical Florida showers and that is what we prepared for. I learned that like everywhere, FL too has a rainy season...and well...we were right in the middle of it. :) I mean, its not a reason not to go but I would say 4 evening and 2 days were effected by rain to the point where we had to leave.
