Pre-Trip Think the undoable and do the unthinkable

I have some great news! Last November we decided not to go back to WDW in October 2015. The flights from Amsterdam to Orlando were much more expensive so we decided to postpone it to 2016. Maybe some short trips to DLP and a summer vacation in Southern Europe was what we wanted to do!

But when we got married in 2010 we said that in the year we are married 5 years we go to Florida!

Then we try to find a decent summer vacation and well.... when we compared it to the prices we have to pay for a WDW trip in October..... :)

So we thought, what the heck! Let's do it! And do it even better than last October! Let's go into a Disney hotel! And we are married 5 years by the time we are in WDW!

So guess what, we booked our trip for October 2015! WDW here we come again! We booked a room in the All Star Movie Resort from October 16th until October 24th :)

Update 02-02-2015: When we booked the trip we tried to book a room in the Port Orleans French Quater, but it was all fully booked. But last Friday I found out that the resort was open for bookings again. So I called the travel agency and guess what?? We upgraded to Port Orleans!!!!!!!

Update 24-06-2015: Guess what :) We booked another WDW trip! October 2016 will be the second future visit!! And with a lot of advantages :) 200$ gift card, free Memory Maker, Ultimate tickets for 14 days for the price of 7 and a free dining plan! And this time we are staying at Port Orleans River Side!!

Who:
Me, my wife Ria and our daugther Sacha (last time we went with a group of 7, now just our family)

When:
October 16th - October 24th (so we can go to the Not So Scary again!)

Where:
Port Orleans French Quarter

So from now on I will keep you informed when there is news from this side of the ocean!

We are really thrilled we are coming back to WDW! The feeling is very good but is getting better by the day!

Port Orleans has become one of our favorites. The design is pretty accurate to New Orleans. If you are a beer guy, try some of the Abita beer at the resort. I work about 5 miles from the brewery.

We never been to New Orleans, although from what I know and see on the internet and TC it looks marvelous and maybe some day we have to be there during Mardi Grass.... and my company is involved with the hurricane aftermath.. I am a beer guy :) Never heard of Abita... what's it like? Odff course you know that we have Heineken :) And where is the brewery?

We always leave Louisiana for Mardi Gras and most out of towners come to Louisiana for it. Abita is mostly lagers and like to make seasonal flavored beer. Some of it is too dark for me but I really like the strawberry and purple haze. The brewery is in Abita Springs, La, that's about 30 mins north of New Orleans.

Ok, now I know where you are from :) I don't know if Mardi Grass is ok and fun, on videos and TV is looks great, but a bit similar like Carnaval in our country. I will absolutely taste it, although I am not really in the flavored beers. In DLP I usually try to find Heineken or Bud. In WDW it was Bud :)

Well try the Abita Amber or if they have AndyGator. Check out there website. I know PO offers a couple different kinds but not sure exactly which ones.

Many people around here love Mardi Gras. I have never been a big fan. Its generally either you love it or hate it. We actually rode in a parade this past Friday. I also am not a fan of downtown New Orleans either. I will go down there for a game, concert or casino but that's about it.

I will absolutely try Abita when we are in PO :) Always great to taste new beers!

I think with Mardi Grass it is the same here in the Netherlands. Either you like it or not. Here is it mostly only in the south part of the country. In my area there is some light version of it, but you can't call it Carnaval people from the south part of it.

I'll second the Abita recommendation. The Amber, purple haze and turbo dog are excellent. You also have to give the beignets a try. They're pretty good. (They're really good if you've never had one from Cafe du Monde.). You're going to love POFQ. It's such a great resort.

Not much to add at the moment. Off course the pre feelings still are more than great! Just 59 days of waiting left before trying to get the restaurants we wanted (Sci-fi and Be our Guest) and then the long wait for trying to get the best FP+ that is available :) In the mean time watching a lof of youtube movies and all the TR and PTR's here :)
