All there is to really do AT pop century is swimming, the arcade, catching a bite at the food court, or shopping at the gift shop.

If you're looking for something to do that isn't attending a park, I would opt for maybe attending Downtown Disney and doing some shopping there or trying DisneyQuest (free with your UPH), or maybe some mini golf.

Pop Century FAQ

We stayed at the POP as opening day guests last year. They have 3 big pools and it's the only Value resort with a pool bar, a water pop jet play area, several Twister game stations, and some really nice nostalga inspiring walking paths. There is an arcade and an indoor cocktail bar. This is the best of the Value resorts, IMHO. Maggie

Yeah, my best advice is also Downtown Disney, the marketplace specifically.

It really let's you know where you are and gets you into that WDW feel....and what better way to blow a few hundred bucks before you ever get to the parks! :D

We stayed at the Pop Century last May and really enjoyed both the pool and the arcade. If you are looking for something that might take a little more time, my husband and I enjoyed playing miniature golf. We arrived too late in the day to justify using one of our days on our park hopper ticket, so we went to the Fantasia themed mini golf course, and we really enjoyed ourselves. We have also done DisneyQuest, which was fun, but I think it deserves the better part of a whole day.

surrey bikes? what are these? how do we rent one/etc?

I think we may relax a bit (swim, etc) and then grab a bite to eat at DTD befdore going to a show at the parks (Fantasmic or Wishes and Spectromagic). We will catch Illuminations on another night. But I am intrigued about the surreys. . .

Thanks for all the info! :king:

Hi Jenn, If you have the Ultimate Park Hopper that means you havev unlimited admission to all of the parks, Pleasure Island, DisneyQuest everything, so I dont understand why you wouldnt look to hit one of the parks immediately?? Am I missing something? Definitely walk around Pop for a little bit the theming is pretty cool. I really liked the 70's Disco music playing in the courtyard of my building. They do turn it off at night though. After that Id certainly consider a bunch of things depending on the day you are arriving:
Magic Kingdom, Always a nice place to start with the Castle and stuff. Catch a few rides, dont rush, relax grab an ice cream cone and hang around for Wishes!!
EPCOT: Thhe Food & Wine Festival I believe is still on when you get there so head over to World Showcase and nosh your way around the World!! Of course, if you see Off Kilter playing I would have to stop and catch a set. They are my absolute favorite band in all of Disney ( Disney Magazine's #1 choice of readers for a musical act)Find a good spot for Illuminations and enjoy!!!!!!!
MGM: this is my usual first park. I usually do Rock N Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, Star Tours etc and have dinner at the 50's Prime Time Cafe. Then of course head over to Fantasmic! It is a show that shouldnt be missed!!!
Animal Kingdom:I dont usually do this park on an arrival day just because the hours are so prohibitive, but if you want to catch an hour or two here and then transfer to another park go for it!!!!!!
Hope this helps! Belle

We'll get in about that same time, and my son loves video games, so we'll probably head over to downtown Disney and the place with all the video games(somebody help me out with the name here, Disney Quest?).

If you and your friends like video games, your passes should get you in, and then everything's free. My son will probably spend a few hours there, and then we'll check out some of the shops, have some dinner, and we'll probably be wiped out (after driving all day) by 7:00.

Have fun!

Thanks everyone for the great ideas!   I think we will probably want to rest a bit as we are leaving Michigan at 6 am after driving to the airport an hour away. . . so we will probably play it by ear and swim for a bit, get soemthing to eat, take things slow but defintely catch some time in the parks and a night show/fireworks and make it as early a night as possible so we can be raring to go on Friday am!

Thanks again all! :sohappy: :king:
