So I know effects and other things at Disney work 365 days a year blah blah blah ect ect. But it seems to be happening more often than usual during this trip I’m taking this week.

1). Olaf animatronic not working

2). Animatronic in AA isn’t doing the lasso (hand isn’t moving)

3). Carousel of Progress animatronic mouth not working.

4). Seas with Nemo and Friends animatronic glowfish not working plus the pop out shark not moving

5). Jungle Cruise animatronics and audio not on (lions and none of the tribe AAs)

6). Sebastian animatronic in “kiss the girl” not synced with music

7). Space mountain and pirates closed down multiple times during the day.

Off the top of my head !

Wow. That is quite a few things at once.

I've seen other folks mention Olaf seeming to go up and down. It's a fairly-advanced AA figure, so the complexity might have something to do with that.

That's really bad show for CoP. It's designed like a stage show, so your attention is fully-focused on whichever figure is speaking at any given time. Having one of their mouths not move is something you can't help but notice when it happens. Which figure was it?

I've also read about the effects in Nemo being unreliable. For an attraction with so few practical effects, that's bad.

For the AAs I can’t call it unless they’re down the day after too.

Then there may be an operational reason the rides open- it’s at managements discretion if it should close or not. Things are more lax than they used to be on that front but there are still rules to follow about how much bad show is okay.

I noticed all of those things PLUS the animatronic alligator that pulls Brer Fox's tail at the end of Splash Mountain wasn't working. Yesterday I checked wait times and all the following were down at once:

Astro Orbiter
Barnstormer
Big Thunder
Dumbo
Expedition Everest
Jungle Cruise
Kali River Rapids
Aladdin's Carpets
Primeval Whirl
Mine Train
Slinky Dog Dash
Splash Mountain
Test Track
Tomorrowland Speedway

Essentially the most popular attractions at the parks. Can't imagine how many people were upset.

It was thunder storming yesterday. So the outdoor rides were all down.

Cast should take regular rides throughout the day on top of start and end checks. But polite reporting by guests is also welcome.
That's good. Is the feedback provided to the area manager who then conveys that to maintenance? I wonder what the threshold is for "bad show."

I'm guessing a broken Olaf might be fixed very quickly but a couple broken spinning fish in the Little Mermaid might be let go for a few days, weeks, or months?

I still dont get stressed out on seeing these minor things not functioning. Theres so much more within an attraction that pleases me that if one minor thing amongst a hundred isnt functioning exactly like it once did it doesnt ruin my experience. Some of the items are old and tired and are expected to be glitchy. Disney probably doesnt think it matters to the majority of the guests that an AA's mouth isnt moving or an AA isnt in sync with the music? They probably are aware of those minor things and they are sceduled for a fix when the attraction is scheduled for attention.
Yes attention to the smallest details was at one time something Disney obscessed over, when the park entirety was much smaller but its a different company with other major issues facing it. I'd rather have the attention paid to the major things like constructing entirely new attractions and lands than making sure a hand is moving on one AA.

Each attraction has its own thresholds in a list. Senior management has the final say, mainly concerning how bad the issue is vs how busy the park is on that day vs the current park capacity.

Issues are passed on to a central office where problems are logged for maintenance. It may be fixable overnight (spinning fish need a motor, light bulb needs replacing) or longer (SSE moon landing CRT needs new parts fabricating). Sometimes things can be done within an hour - such as ToT projector bulbs. Big SQ issues that are easily fixed from backstage.
