Sorry, what was the question here?

There was a picture showing construction of SDMT and given there were many workers some people wondered if they worked slowly in comparison to projects such as Splash Mountain. Perhaps there were more complexities in the project or perhaps they were restricted on when they could work... People are just arguing on what took so long.

Edit: there was also the old why could Uni build an entire land (Diagon Alley) in the same time it took Disney to build SDMT.

I'm really tired of seeing you guys throwing up photos to support your Pro Tree Agenda...we get it theres way more foliage in WDW now than it was in Yesterland....

And I'll add 4 pages in this thread are off topic and the thread really should be moved....

Oh man, Poly Lobby and my late, beloved Virgin Megastore in one post. Hang on, I'm getting misty.

And yet, when the discussion turns to Main Street, you'll see people bemoaning the loss of trees! "Where are the trees? They were never concerned about sightlines for the fireworks back in the 80s, when pixie dust flowed like water and WDW was rich and good with joy and merriment!"

So the site owner doesn't own his own photos? Interesting
Well yes they are. Werner took these photos and did detailed write ups to put them in perspective. Maybe we should link rather than copy his photos
the watermarks are there, though. it's not like they're being passed off as anything other than werner's content. i visited yesterland after looking at this thread, so if anything, he gained from it. but it's whatever

Of those, I would say that Splitsville is a vast improvement over Virgin mega.

I have three boys, 10, 4, and 1. I take the older two by myself at least once if not twice a month to WDW and have no issue. I usually bring a single stroller for the 4 yr old. We also have a double stroller. But, it is the version that is the width of a single stroller and is just extra long. That one we use when we travel as a family with all three boys.

You have to be considerate with your strollers. I can't count the times there is some big nasty double stroller and the parents are acting like they are the only ones on main street stopped right in the middle of traffic. I have also noticed that people in general are more rude now at the parks. All of the self involved me me me stuff. You know the general lack of respect.
I have also been on the end of the rude guests that do not have a stroller and think they own the place and do not make room for others. It really wakes you up when you see the general rudeness towards pregnant women there too. I have witnessed this several times when my wife was pregnant.

I used to be in the camp of parents that would not take their child to Disney until they were 5. Now, though I have a different take on it all. Started taking my 4 year old when he was about 18 months. I don't regret not taking my 5 year old when they were younger though. But, I'm also not going to leave out my other children just because they are not 5 yet. They can still enjoy themselves. Plus you get to witness their joy too as their parents. I mean when you think about it. How many days can you remember perfectly even at age 10 or 20 for that matter.

Disney has great bathrooms for diaper changes. All of the bathrooms that I have been in over the years have a dedicated table built into the wall for diaper changes. Definitely spoils you for when you have to go back out in to the real world and deal with one of those cheap pull-down trays for diaper changes.
This may be a perfect post. I tried to defend people with strollers once and was lambasted. I pay attention to my surroundings whether i have a stroller or not. I pull off to the side if I need to check my phone so im not blocking a walking path, with our without a stroller. If more people were aware of their surroundings and actually thought of someone other than themselves, life in general would be better. Driving last night a girl power walked out into traffic that had a flashing red hand while looking down at her phone. the car in front had to swerve to miss her and she didn't even see him. just kept walking not even realizing she was almost killed.

I have been taking my kids since before they were 2 and both remembered the trip the next time they went. It's no different hen taking them to a zoo or to meet a travelling show like the wiggles or something. They enjoy it for the time they are there and then go back to eating dirt when they get home because that is what's interesting that day. If you want to take your kid when they are 2 or not until they are 5 that is a parents call. IF we could all just show a little bit of humanity towards each other and paid attention to life going on around us society would be a better and happier place.

First shot of Tomorrowland Entry is probably in the 80s... The 1971 entrance was just simple blue tile with water pouring over it, and downward water jets on the spires. The tiles were removed and the graphics arrives about 10 years later...I guess there were issues with the roof leaks and fountain maintenance.
It sure was amazing though...

This shot would have been taken around 1975 as Space Mountain is visible over the roof.
