This forum is ridiculous sometimes. I click the first page and see @WDWtraveler posting (as always) incredible pictures. Then by what- post 5 we're talking about strollers, what age it's appropriate for kids to go to Disney, and the construction schedule of 7DMT vs Diagon Alley?

What crap. How bout everyone stay on the topic at hand and enjoy a good thread with good intentions for once without being completely off-topic? Trees, crowds and other things relevant to the differences is fine- construction schedules is just ludicrous.

seriously, just the fact that people are talking about kids in strollers 40 years ago vs today is just stupid. it's like people saying the 90s were better off than today "just because"

I debated between saying future world or stroller. So I'll combine and say- stroller parking at future world.

It's crazy age helps and hurts certain things. The view of the castle from fantasyland and haunted mansion looked much better with less foliage IMO. Everything else looks better today than it did back in the day. Except the plaid pants- those are clearly the winner.

Some thoughts:

I'll take the trees hiding the Imagination pavilion from that angle over the shade-less expanse of walkways from '83. But I hope someone has cleaned those retaining walls because they are pretty grubby looking in the 2011 photo.

The Mexico pavilion has really lost a lot of detail in its paintwork over the years. Tower of Terror over at DHS is a similar story.

In the Japan pic, interesting how they went with a more weather look originally for the Torii gate. Also, the Magic Eye Theater really stuck out when Epcot had no tree line.

Check out the dual languages on the old trashcans, along with a more elaborate "livery." That said, I still like the plaques on the current World Showcase trashcans, even if the brown is a bit plain.
