Hey everyone...I'm new to this message board, you all seem pretty interesting tho. I've been a Disney nut for quite some time now and after reading quite a few of ht posts on here, it seems there is a topic that i haven't seen any of you cover yet. While Disney is phasing out their old attractions, they are also phasing out the wonderful theme songs that used to go along with them. THink about it, especially at EPCOT. Spaceship Earth, World of Motion, Universe of Energy, my favorite at Journey into Imagination. They've done it all over the place. The Tiki Room Song is gone. It's sad really. What do you guys think?

I agree with you about the songs! Since you never know when they might disappear, I always buy the park tapes/cds. This way I can always have some recording of them.

I agree totally with you Dan, Disney wouldn't be the same without a regular blast of 'great big beautiful tommorrow' but hey they keep telling us thats progress.

I agree, but what about...

Dan, I AGREE. I love those songs, but like someone mentioned, buy the albums. when i was a id, instead of begging for kid songs, my parents would always play the OFFICIAL ALBUM OF DISNEYWORLD.

I still know everything by heart, from the Country Bear Jamboree, to Makin' Memories (Kodak preshow before Captain EO)
and even The Kitchen Kabaret songs!

That was great.

ALSO, everytime I hear someone talk about C.O.P I hear, its a great big beautiful tommorrow.
Does anyone remember Now is the time?

Now is the time,
Now is the best time,
Now is the best time of your life...!

Let me know!

Hi! "Lifeguard"

Welcome to the boards!

I agree with you, it is a real shame to see some of the old "classics" go. My fave is the old SE song as you were returning to the bottom (sorry I can't remember what is was called, I have it on a CD some where), plus, as Beauty and the, says, It's a Great Big Beautiful Tommorrow was a classic.

And of course it goes without saying the wonder that was "Imagination"

Good point made though. I think in future I will be buying a music from the parks CD ever year from now on.

You guys missed a great oppertunity. Back when napster was around and powerful, I downloaded hundreds of disneyworld related MP3s, 95% from the original master recordings making for perfect cd quality transfers. I have the entire Haunted Mansion ride through, the monorail recordings from the 70s, the entire 80s version of COP, including the Great big beautiful tomorrow song, and a lot of music of other various park music thats either still around and classic, or gone forever and welcome to hear again (although I never did find Eastern Airline's old IF YOU HAD WINGS song) You should all check whatever napster clones you use for park music. Oh, and the Spaceship earth song was Tommorow's Child.

It is just really sad to see disney removing their old songs. It's not even like they are replacing them with new songs, just removing them entirely. Less and less songs all together these days. Even in their movies, and I believe that stems directly into the parks.

I liked the old Epcot entrance music better that whats played now. I hate change. The world of motion theme was cool too. To bad they couldnt incoporate it into the ride somehow, even if it was played in the test track store.

I wish Disney would make CDS of ALL the Park music including the area music as you walk around the parks. I have been buying the Disney Park CD's for the last 4 trips but I still have missed alot of the music that is gone now. I remember going to the LAND Pavillion and being sooo dissapointed when I found out they had gotten rid of the Listen to the Land song and replaced the ride with the new theme of Living With The Land. Luckily I have the CD with the Listen To The Land song on it and it's still one of my favorite songs from the parks. I wish I had boughten the 25th anniversary CD but I didn't. Not much I can do about it now. But I do make a habit of ALWAYS buying the Music form the Parks CD's now whenever I go.

PS/perhaps TAPS should be the Main Street USA theme song in honor of the deceased rides.

It's fun to be free
To be on the move
To go anywhere
With ever a care to
Do all there is to be done
It's fun.....to be free

I still have an Epcot album (yes kids, that's those large round vinyl things you've heard about) that has the songs from all the original Epcot Center attractions.

I;ve managed to find alot of old disney songs on Winmx.
One of my favorties is the old Epcot entrance theme. I have an 18 minute version of it, but I know there is a 28 minute recording as well. And it DOESNT loop. All 18 min is original. Its awesome!
