The Yankee Trader closing for refurbishment - is a dedicated Haunted Mansion gift shop coming?

Does anyone know if this on-ride photo aspect of the Yankee Trader overhaul will in any way impact the closure of HM? Has anyone noticed cameras in the attraction yet?

They probably already have cameras installed to make sure no one is doing anything naughty.

You know, the new(er) paint job makes more sense now. I think most of us felt the blue paint scheme was weird and off and didn't really fit in with the Yankee Trader/Columbia Harbor House theme or aesthetic. But...make it a Haunted Mansion shop and suddenly, the more "ghostly" color scheme fits a whole lot better.

A step in the right direction for specific themed merchandise and shopping locations. Lets hope generic merchandise dosent find its way in there. The 999 happy haunts will turn sour!

My mom will be bummed....one of her favorite things to do was sit in the rocking chairs on the Yankee Trader porch and socialize/meet people while we went to Frontierland for Splash/Big Thunder.

The poster is referring to "On Ride Photos" where the guests picture is taken and then can be purchased as a souvenir!

I know that. I was just saying that if they really wanted to save costs they could probably just use one of those to take pictures of the folks on the ride.

They can't, in my knowledge do that. They're not gonna replace a CCTV camera with a camera that takes pics of riders. They'd all be looking down at weird angles. It'd be stupid.

have you seen CCTV images? they are grainy crap. You have to have a fairly high quality CMOS chips for high resolution and fast reaction focusing to get the high quality pictures people demand when asking for 20.00 a picture...
