Or at least that's what I tend to call them because with the season rolling on by, pun intended, I seem to be seeing more and more of those shoes that make me roar!!!
For one, they're not allowed in the parks. Period!! As cast members we're told to ask the guest to please pop out the wheelies and put them away.
Simple as that right? right??
Wrong! I get everything from
"They're not skates, so don't worry about it."
" It's a free Country" (no it isn't, this is property owned so follow the rules)
"my kids don't have to listen to anything you say"
"F off!!"
"We know!!" ( so why haven't you taken them off then? )
"excuse me?"
"oh, okay"
"they're not doing anything wrong"
"mind your own business"
"No one told us anything in the front" (it's common sense though, if bikes and skateboards aren't allowed in the parks, why would they make an exception for wheelies?? )
You all get the point. Today I was over at Visa Meet and Greet over in innoventions west and I told this kid to not use the wheelies in the park. He said "sorry" and his father didn't even tell him anything.
I got bumped off to tipboard and I saw him once more and this time I stopped him and his family and told him that he seriously needs to pop those out and they're not allowed in the park. His father gave me this look like he wanted to murder me I swear!!
Why is it that when we tell the kids something, some of the parents actually do start yelling at the child like it's their fault? Aren't the parents to blame when they're the ones that bought them those shoes in the first place??
Same thing happens when they start climbing the "innoventions jungle gym" I walk over there to tell them to get off and the parents start yelling at the child just so they can look good in front of me. Ummm that didn't help one bit considering I saw you across from tipboard a long time ago and you weren't telling him nothing then.
See what I mean??
We're not telling quest just for the you know what of it. Disney's first priority is safety so please if you have children, or you know someone that has children with these wheelies, don't bother taking them to DISNEY WORLD. THEY'RE NOT ALLOWED.
Does anyone else have any interesting stories with the wheelies from the darkside??
Does anyone else wish those weren't made? Do you think they belong in the parks??
