Efteling located in the Netherlands makes Hershey Park and Cedar Park look like a joke. It's the only non-Disney Theme Park that rivals Disney in terms of entertainment and guest treatment. This official wallpaper gives a good impression on the parks' dedication to attractions and guest experiences.

Even Efteling Hotel (the park's official hotel) has much better theming compared to Walt Disney World's newer hotels. Especially the guest rooms which contains interactive elements (such as Pardoes Suite).

We’re Disney fans, we’re a fickle bunch. Prior to his return 2 years ago I’d have laid all the blame on Chapek and still proclaimed Iger the best Disney CEO since Walt, now I think he’s killing the company and the sooner a replacement is announced the better. 🤷🏼‍♂️. Amazing what a little time can do to perspective.
Iger never eclipsed his predecessor

You’re giving him the benefit of scale…they were just a lot bigger/has more purchasing power

From a product and fan perspective…he’s not close

Like he bought Star Wars…so cool right?
Then…well…look what happened.

In fact…take marvel away and he’d look ineffective

The current team has added significantly to the parks since Rasulo left. While maybe not as much or what we would like. Exponentially more than was done under Rasulo. So we already know he does a worse job than the current team
Added? Or replaced?

Avatar was an add…for sure…most of the rest was just an elaborate demo and rebuild

I can’t help but wonder, but maybe you know, who was the CEO and Chairman during that time?

Well aware…

You realize that is the same CEO and chairman after he has been gone right? You realize there has been significantly more investment during that time right?

Why don’t you look at Rasulos time in charge of Paris compared to any other resort during that same period.

“Why couldn’t the guy that took over in the aftermath of 9/11 get more built?”

It’s disingenuous to put all the onus on Rasulo, the buck didn’t stop with him. It was in the Burbank office with the attached bathroom and shower.

Heck, Efteling is actually building a second hotel that's located inside the park. This time it's located between the park's main entrance and Efteling Theater called Efteling Grand Hotel arriving in 2025! They begun construction on this hotel late last year. Efteling notably has a much swifter and quicker time span when it comes to building things compared to Disney and Universal. The resort begun construction

Also Efteling Theater even has a Youtube Channel that posts full recordings of their previous shows complete with lyrics to some of their shows songs.

The Sandman Musical is my favorite of their shows.

I think both Eisner and Iger are examples of staying too long. Eisners early work was incredible (and he spared no expense), DLP is still the most beautiful Disney Park, over time he became the budget park guy and we got parks like Disney Studio Park and DCA 1.0, I’d say Igers early work was incredible also, DCA 2.0 was a massive upgrade, as was Pandora, New Fantasyland, etc, he’s never lost the nerve to spend money but over time he’s become overly focused on IPs and the recent changes are far less inspired.

Makes me think they come in like dreaming kids who look at the parks as toys they can play with and then over time the parks just turn into a bunch of numbers on a spreadsheet to manage.
