My sister, brother-in-law and 4-year-old neice stayed there last year. Walking slowly to accommodate my neice's little legs, they said it took 10 minutes to reach the lobby from their room.

Why are people worried about a 5-10 minute walk, when all they're going to be doing ALL day is walking at the theme parks?

A lot of reasons that you might not think. Maybe they want to beat the crowds at the bus stop so that there's no need to wait for additional bus to go to the preferred park or something. Anyway, I'll give something a little more visual that may help.

I stayed at the baseball building at the All-Star Sports on one trip. (Different resort granted but the layout is almost exactly the same as AOA.) It wasn't too far of a walk, about 5-10 minutes from there to the lobby depending on your pace. Manageable but not unbearable.

Were booked for 8 days next april/early may...were in the little mermaid rooms, and I keep reading about how far the walk is from the mermaid section to the main hall....can someone give it to me straight lol? weve stayed in the toy story building at movies which was a 5-6 minute walk, and the baseball rooms at sports which was maybe 7-8 minutes....any info is appreciated

I'm staying there in December.
After reading a lot of complaints, I mapped the distance. If I remember correctly, it comes to about .28 miles, which is only a bit more than once around a high school track. Not much at all.

It's a bit of a walk, but nothing you can't do...although if you have little ones you will want your own stroller at the end of the night. Not sure exact distance. We just stayed 14 days in Bldg. #1 Cars, 4th floor and had a blast. We were not booked at this resort but due to a major room malfunction at Port Orleans and the fact that we were a family of five this was the place they moved us. We were disappointed at first because it was our first stay at POR but once we repacked and moved and got settled...we LOVED IT!

I stayed in The Love Bug Building in ASMu in 2007... if the walk is similar to that, it so wasn't a problem...
