Wow you are awesome for taking on this challenge. I used to smoke and I found the hardest part to be, like you pointed out, not having one when you're habitually trained to. You can do it and get through! You will be so much happier without it. And your lungs and wallet will thank you. Congrats on taking this challenge on! Disneyland? What a great reward.

Congratulations on deciding to quit smoking! It took me several tries but I finally kicked it for good a little over ten years ago and haven't looked back. What worked for me wasn't patches or e-cigs (which didn't exist then anyway), but the fact that I got a really bad hacking cough (I think it was bronchitis) that just wouldn't go away. My body basically made me stop. The first few months were the worst because you get so used to having one at certain times, it's like a pavlovian response. But what helped me was...texting. Every time I found myself waiting somewhere with nothing to do, I just took out my phone and started typing to keep my fingers and mind distracted. So I say, just post here any time you feel the need to puff! ;)

In addition to the many many benefits of quitting, now you won't be one of those doleful-faced people who are relegated to the few small areas of the parks where you can still smoke. Whenever I pass by the little area behind Thunder Mountain or outside the Haunted Mansion, I always walk a little quicker and avoid eye contact. It's a sad sad place to be at DLR.
