Over priced. we have a Shulas 2 here. The cuts are half the price. And if they are charging $49 for a CAB filet, it is not what your are getting, because a true center barrell cut CAB filet is $26 per pound. Are they selling true CAB steaks, maybe, but not at the standards they are promoting. Good steak, yes. Many different standards and labels can make anything sound great, but for true taste, only the person eating it can judge.

Can someone jolt my memory again..I know my steaks,( fillet/porter/rib eye,etc ) But Whats the difference between a Cowboy & a Kansas.? Bet someone has a joke here..I'am sure I found out before but my old memory isn't as good as it was 100 years ago.
Cowboy is like a porterhouse or tbone, with a strip and tenderloin/filet. Kansas cut is just a strip steak.

If Shula's was on the DDP it would be a definite on my list but I just can't warrant spending $100 on a single course, even if I would be immortalised on that wall.

So, it's back to the Yachtsman (not that it's a hardship) for the porterhouse loveliness. Last year my missus had a surf and turf, does anyone know if it's still offered? No sign of it on allears but then, it wasn't listed on allears last year before we went.

Trying to decide for our anniversary dinner between Le Cellier and Yachtsmen. Never been to either! Last year we had our anniversary dinner at Bistro de Paris and discovered that well, we just aren't into french food. We aren't that adventurous in our eating.

Can anyone comment on the atmosphere at yachtsmen vs le cellier? Is yachtsmen beautiful and romantic?

Le Cellier- Inside EPCOT, slightly cheaper, makes a lot of list for being a "romantic" restaurant. Pretzel bread. I have a 7:10 reservation which is perfect for walking out and watching illuminations.

Yachtsmen: Food gets better reviews. Have a 5:50 reservation which is a bit early for my taste- but I feel like we would miss illuminations if I took the 7:40 reservation instead.

Idk if I would say Yachtsman is romantic, definitely a relaxing atmosphere... It's quiet and the food is really is great! Me and my fiance are probably Yachtsman's # 1 fans  but illuminations is such a great show, and Le Cellier has great food as well, so I'd go for Le Cellier... no need to leave the park and more time to explore EPCOT :)

We paid a visit to Shula's here in Indianapolis a few years ago, where everyone in my family got a steak. They were the worst steaks we'd ever had. Tough, gristly, just plain awful. I don't plan to visit another Shula's.

I used to eat steak everywhere it was offered at WDW, but since DDP and the degradation of food quality in general, I've stopped getting steaks there. Sub par meat, at best. We had lunch at Le Cellier in November (because their dinner prices are laughable), and I gave their steak another try. Two thumbs down.

It sounds like some of you fine folks have had some wonderful steak experiences elsewhere on property. I'm taking notes fast and furiously so we can make every attempt to dine at one of these places on our next visit.

My favorite cut (other than a filet) is a New York Strip. I'd love to get some recommendations on awesome NY Strips on Disney property!!!! :D

My wife and I talked about Shula's in Indy just last night and we thought it was OK. Outside of St. Elmo's, I think Flemings has the best steak in the area. I've always been disappointed in steak at WDW, but have yet to try the Yachtsman. Maybe, next trip.

A filet at St. Elmo's is hard to beat....anywhere.

I like any steak house that has a good variety of red wines!

My wife would probably be upset at me telling this story, so of course I have to tell it. ;)

Years ago, we had an anniversary dinner at a very pricey steakhouse (which will remain unnamed) that broils their steaks in an extremely hot oven with waaaaaaay too much butter. The char on the steak was awesome; the butter not so much. Anyway, my wife ordered some red wine with dinner (first time she ever ordered red wine). I didn't care much for it, so she took my glass as well. This was a fairly expensive dinner, topping $200. On the way home, my wife starts feeling not-so-good. By the time we get home, she's pretty green. She rushes to our bathroom, and I can clearly hear her tossing her cookies with the door shut. I'm asking if she's ok, and she weakly says something like "does it sound like it?" So I reply (joking, of course) "Good God woman, that's a $100 steak you're puking up!" She told me that she would have laughed had she not been so busy yaking her guts up. Turns out her stomach does not like red wine at all. So when the server suggests red wine, my wife and I get a good chuckle out of it.
