Sea
  • Epcot/DisneySea style park
  • Lands are themed to parts of the world(?)
  • More focused on an immersive experience- less about rides and more about walking around and soaking in atmosphere (there will still be rides)
  • Icon: Volcano?
Here is a land idea:

Mesoamerica: A land based on the Maya and Aztec civilizations of ancient Mesoamerica home to an area based on the Maya with a Maya Mythology dark ride, a dark ride through Maya cities exploring theories about the Classic Maya collapse, and a ride through the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan.

Nice idea for a land! On a similar note, Mesopotamia might be a nice pick for a land, the earliest known advanced civilizations in history with some potential for IP representation, including Marvel.

Babylon would be one of the coolest locales to feature!

Dusting off this thread to say that I'm looking to get back into this- figured I should finish this park before moving onto other creative ventures like the Parkemon. After some time has passed, I'm not too happy with the WIP map I have- it feels very disjointed in some areas. I think I'm going to go back to the drawing board with revisions to the whole park, taking into account the community suggestions- and I'd love more, since this is meant to be the ultimate castle park, it wouldn't be ultimate if it were only my opinions!

1729894588562.png

Some things I want to change about the layout:
  • Have the railroad be more of a berm than the zig-zaggy path it has now. I was taking inspiration from Tokyo's railroad and how it cuts through Critter Country without realizing their railroad doesn't go around the entire park. If I were to redo the layout, I could have it be a generally circular path while arranging lands so it cuts through some.
    • I also want to add more dioramas/show scenes. I know I planned for a bunch, but I totally forgot Primeval World! I just forgot to mention the railroad in general for that land, whoops.
  • Have more lands accessed via the central hub- right now it's just Sleepy Hollow, Fantasyland, and Discovery Bay. Feels like a weird assortment.
  • Fix the east half of the park so Discovery Bay isn't awkwardly in front of Tomorrowland and Adventureland- I feel like the OG four lands should take priority in layout and not be tucked away behind random new lands
  • Adjust the west half of the park, I had forced the flow of that whole side to be chronological (starting with colonial times and ending in the PNW) but I think that limited an ideal layout. I'll still try to keep that, but I think I want to adjust the specific order of things and general size of the area. It just feels... clunky and linear.
  • I want to give the Haunted Mansion a greatest emphasis in its land, since Pirates and CBJ have their own lands. I can't justify HM having a whole land like the other two, since Dark Fantasyland and Sleepy Hollow are two halves of it's whole aesthetic, so it has to go in one. Sleepy Hollow feels like the right spot for it so it can be on the river and be connected to the Ravenswood/BTM story still... should Sleepy Hollow be renamed to something more leaning towards the Haunted Mansion? Ravenstowne?
    • Maybe Haunted Mansion leaves Sleepy Hollow and moves to Frontierland, joining the Thunder Mesa area? But at that point it just starts to become Phantom Manor rather than a fusion of HM and PM.
  • Fantasyland still feels bloated. Not sure what to do about that since I've already cut a lot from it!
    • Perhaps the whole circus area could become its own land off Main Street...?
    • Pooh's Hunny Hunt could go back into Bear Country like my original plan, with the facade themed to a library (guests go into the story rather than it being a real place)?
  • Should Bear Country be just Bear Country? Is it too limiting? Should it be something else, like "Critter Country", "Grizzly Peaks", "Grizzly National Park", etc., to have some wiggle room for housing non-CBJ attractions (despite being mainly a CBJ area because I'm hella biased towards them lmao)
    • Side note: I found out that Tex Ritter (Big Al)'s grandson is Jason Ritter, voice of Dipper from Gravity Falls, so it almost makes that area the perfect spot for the Mystery Shack. Gravity Falls has talking bears so maybe...?
  • More to do on Main Street- Main Streets are often thought of as just the walkway to the "real" park, so I want this entrance to feel special!
  • Figure out what the heck I'm doing with the Dark Fantasy area (and what I'm even calling it)
  • Do I even worry about a second gate? Do I include stuff like Hollywoodland here, or is that too much to do in one park?
So many thoughts, so little time to actually work on this, lol. Please let me know your thoughts!

Don't have much to say right now, but I do have these thoughts:

  • Splitting the circus stuff off into its own land doesn't sound like a bad idea.
  • Keep Hunny Hunt in Fantasyland (Bear Country is a very American national park, and the Hundred Acre Wood is in the English countryside); you can still do the library facade there and I'd even say that that approach would fit Fantasyland even more than it would Bear Country

You're right, Pooh fits much better there. I think I'll use the library facade and tie Pooh into the "English Village" section rather than the "Enchanted Forest"!

Take away the Muppets, Voices Of Liberty, Columbia Harbor House, the Sailing Ship, and the Christmas shop, leaving only the Sleepy Hollow and Mansion related things, therefore making the land much more Gothic in tone.

I love the ideas for Discovery Bay, Dark Fantasyland, and etc. But I always imagined a Bald Mountain attraction as a boat ride utilizing Shanghai's Pirates of the Caribbean (Magnetic Powered Boat Ride). I also enjoy thinking of new-age versions of classic attractions and even though your version of the Matterhorn is simalar to Expedition Everst. I still find it very interesting.

Here’s what I would suggest:
  • More shops like I suggested before. Also I would say list the ride exit shops as well.
  • Add some more Pixar IPs in here. Maybe you could include a Pixar Place land here?
  • I would say that the idea of adding more parks to this would be a great idea, so maybe you could call this ”The Ultimate Disney Resort” ?
  • I think the Mystery Shack works better in Bear Country as why would it be in Dark Fantasyland? Also the talking bears and Dipper’s VA being related to Big Al’s VA makes it a perfect fit.
  • I would say for the Mansion situation, just keep it as Haunted Mansion. Phantom Manor is very cool, but at the end of the day, it’s always the originals that win over the successors (like the OG Star Wars Trilogy being more recognized than the Prequel & Sequel Trilogies).
  • Put Pooh Bear in the Enchanted Forest section of Fantasyland as not having a feature ride based around him wouldn’t feel right.
  • How about you give Mary Poppins her own ride? As she would make the perfect candidate for a dark ride and just giving her the carousel title feels wrong in my opinion.
  • How about for a Dark Fantasyland rename, you call it “Dark Kingdom” ?
  • Also since you mentioned giving Bear Country a rename as well, I would suggest to rename it “The Great Outdoors” !
That’s all I’ll give to your for some feedback, but I still have ideas to make this more ultimate. If you want to hear them, just tag me in! I’m always here to help!

  • Good idea, exit gift shops will help bulk up retail a lot, and having more standalone stores with unique offerings could be fun. I want to avoid the modern park issue where most stores are just the same shirts, Minnie ears, pins, and other generic merch.
  • Totally forgot to put Up in Adventureland! Off the top of my head, currently I have Brave in Fantasyland and Coco in Frontierland. Maybe I add Wall-E to Tomorrowland?
  • Yeah, more parks would help solve the issue of finding a place for everything!
  • I think I may rename Bear Country to something like “Redwood Valley”, with Bear Country being a sub area and then other areas that can fit other IP like Gravity Falls.
  • True. I think I may write up a unique take on the lore though, I watched both HM movies on Halloween and the 2003 one surprised me with how interesting the backstory was. I’m gonna take the best bits of all HMs and make one perfect story! I also thought of possibly having ghosts in the graveyard related to the other lands- a pirate ghost, the ghost of a S.E.A. member, etc.
  • Yeah, I think Pooh will stay in Fantasyland. Fits the best!
  • I was considering having Tony Baxter’s old dark ride concept but I was worried there wouldn’t be enough room. If I have a circus/carnival land (Holidayland?) maybe it could go there?
  • Dark Kingdom fits well!
  • Forget what I said earlier, Great Outdoors is fantastic!
I appreciate all your feedback and advice, I’d love to hear any other ideas you have!

Unnamed Ultimate Castle Park Patch Notes
I'll update all the dedicated posts for the lands in the future.

General
  • The WIP map I was making will be scrapped and restarted, so the layouts of the lands will be different. Not too happy with it after coming back to it.
  • I had an idea to give every land a “-land” name and a proper name, but not sure if I’ll go through with it. For example, you’d have “Wildernessland: Bear Country”, “Tomorrowland: Progress City”, “Frontierland: Thunder Mesa”, “Shadowland: Dark Kingdom”, “Pirateland: Old Pirate Island”, etc etc. Could be fun for all lands to have a name ending in land but giving the OG four names that aren’t -land could cause confusion with their subareas.
  • There will now be a hotel at the entrance, like Disneyland Paris, called the [Castle Park Name] Hotel.
Main Street, U.S.A.
  • The length of Main Street is likely longer to accommodate all the additions, and there are potentially some extra side streets.
  • On either side of the street are two arcades (walkways, not game arcades): The Exploration Arcade and the Expedition Arcade. These covered walkways provide shelter from weather and alternate routes when the main street is crowded from parades and firework shows. They also have access to all the shops on Main Street they pass by. The Exploration Arcade is inspired by lands from the west half of the park (Frontierland, Sleepy Hollow, and Bear Country) while the Expedition Arcade is inspired by lands from the east half (Tomorrowland, Adventureland, and Discovery Bay). Names may need a rework to be less similar.
  • Altered Restaurants:
    • Main Street Confectionary: Now named Boardwalk Candy Company.
  • New Restaurants:
    • Main Street Bakery (QS): Home to baked goods like pastries, donuts, croissants, muffins, and breakfast sandwiches, as well as coffee, lattes, and similar breakfast beverages. Great for grabbing breakfast while you walk down Main Street!
    • Market House Deli (QS): Home to non-breakfast sandwiches, hot and cold. Cold-cuts, grilled sandwiches, melts, etc. Also has snacks and beverages.
  • Snack Carts: I'm going to start labeling these! Main Street has carts with popcorn (flavors: regular and kettle), soft pretzels, ice cream, and cotton candy.
  • Added and altered the shops to have more individual shops rather than only a few large shops like in Florida.
    • Altered Shops:
      • Main Street Emporium: Still the large shop in the center of the land, but a little smaller and focused on tourist-centered merchandise. Autograph books, pens, the most popular merchandise items from throughout the park like plush toys, bubble wands, light up sticks, t-shirts, sweatshirts, magnets, etc. A little bit of the best from every land in the park, and a great place to find something you missed on the way out.
      • Flower St. Boutique: Only features more upscale fashion like spirit jerseys, dresses, and Minnie ears, leaving other kinds of headwear and clothing for other shops.
    • New Shops:
      • Town Square Photography & Print Shop: A place where guests can get on-ride photos or PhotoPass photos printed in-park at a discount compared to online. Guests can choose a number of sizes to print, from keychain size to large wall prints. Also sells frames, keychains, and high-quality prints of attraction posters.
      • McLaughlin Brothers Toy Store: A vintage style toy store home to specialty merchandise that has as homemade feel to it, be it wooden or mechanical. Also home to a mountain of plush toys, a homage to Disney Stores.
      • Lillian's Home Furnishings: Sells small-scale home goods, like dishware, cups and glasses, cooking utensils, cookbooks, lamps, decorations, etc.
      • Disneyana Collectibles: Home to special merchandise that is a bit on the higher end, namely limited run items and limited edition collectibles. If it's something only a parks mega fan or someone with cash to burn would buy, it's probably here.
      • Crystal Arts: Home to engraved glass and glassblowing. Demonstrations of glassblowing are shown inside.
      • Jack's Pin Traders: The largest pin store in the park, home to every single pin you can find in the park and more. Great for stopping by on your way out!
      • Uptown Jewelers: the park's main shop for jewelry, bags, and similar accessories. Lots of Loungeflys here!
      • Brimmin' Beauties Hat Shop: Home to all sorts of hats, such as iconic Mickey ears, standard Minnie ears (with a sign informing guests that all the high-end/specialty Minnie ears are at Flower St.), Goofy and Donald hats, character headbands, baseball caps, crowns and tiaras, pirate hats, top hats- if you can put it on your head, it's here.
      • Mickey Mouse Club Headquarters: Shop dedicated to Mickey and Minnie merch, including some exclusive stuff based on classic era Mickey and Minnie. Has screens playing various 20s-30s cartoons on a loop.
      • Baby Mine: Shop dedicated to goods for babies and toddlers.
      • Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe: A shop home to Christmas themed goods, like ornaments, home decor, sweaters, etc.
      • Box Office Gifts: The exit gift shop for the Main Street Theater attraction.
Fantasyland
  • Altered Attractions:
    • Casey Jr. Circus Train (TR): Now the Disneyland Paris version that is a moderately thrilling family coaster instead of a normal train.
  • New Attractions:
    • Brave: Story of Merida (DR): A classic-style dark ride with a twist: the guests mount "horses" and ride through the forest alongside Merida as she tries to turn her mother back to normal. Found in the Enchanted Forest section of Fantasyland.
    • Alice's Curious Labyrinth (WT): A smaller version of the Disneyland Paris walkthrough, tucked around the Mad Tea Party.
    • Enchanted Forest Theater (EN): A medium sized indoor theater that houses rotating shows themed to Fantasyland-related IP. Found in the Enchanted Forest.
  • New Shops:
    • Royal Gifts: Found inside the castle, sells Fantasyland-related merchandise like ornaments.
    • Merlin's Magic Shop: Found inside the castle, sells Fantasyland-related toys and accessories.
    • Geppetto's Toy Shoppe: Found adjacent to Pinocchio's Village Haus, this small gift shop is home to all sorts of toys related to Fantasyland.
    • Hundred Acre Goods: Pooh's Hunny Hunt exit gift shop.
    • Arendelle Imports: Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey exit gift shop.
    • The Seven Dwarf's Cottage: Seven Dwarf's Mine Train exit gift shop.
  • Snack Carts:
    • Old Fairytale Village: Popcorn (regular, caramel), soft pretzels, ice cream
    • Enchanted Forest: Popcorn (regular, berry), soft pretzels, ice cream
    • Storybook Circus: Popcorn (regular, kettle, cheddar), soft pretzels, ice cream, cotton candy, corndogs, churros
  • I've decided to keep the Storybook Circus in Fantasyland generally as-is, as I feel yet another dark ride themed to Mary Poppins would be overkill in a park that already has 21 dark rides.
Tomorrowland
  • Altered Attractions:
    • Plectu’s Intergalatic Revue (EN): Still an AA show, but now a inverted rotating theater, as in the seating is on the inside and the stages on the outside, and the audience rotates on their center rather than around a loop.
  • New Attractions:
    • WALL-E's Voyage Through the Stars (EN): A stage show retelling the story of WALL-E using impressive mechanical puppets and animatronics.
  • Altered Shops
    • Star Traders: Renamed Shooting Star Gifts.
  • New Shops
    • X-S Tech’s X-S Warehouse: The exit gift shop for Alien Encounter.
    • Galaxy Goods: The exit gift shop for Space Mountain.
    • Stark Industries: The exit gift shop for Avengers: Otherworldy Invasion.
    • Darth Traders: The exit gift shop for Star Tours.
  • New Restaurants:
    • Asteroid Bistro (RS): A full service restaurant that offers more for families than the Starlight Lounge, which is catered more towards an older crowd.
  • Snack Carts: Popcorn (regular, sour cream and chives, chocolate), soft pretzels, ice cream, churros
Adventureland
  • Altered Attractions:
    • The Adventureland Treehouse: now renamed to The Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse. Still features a lot of the new features and content from the Adventureland Treehouse, but with the specific characters from the film instead of the new family. Sometimes having IP is nice!
  • New Attractions:
    • Paradise Falls Balloon Flight (AR): Themed to Up, this flat ride is a mild swing ride that features three sets of balloon swings that rotate independently of the main swing structure, essentially rotating you in two different directions (Imagine a teacup ride turntable). However, it’s not so fast that it’s too intense for sensitive riders. The ride is themed in a way that it looks like it’s made of various debris from Carl’s House, with the swings being old chairs held up by balloons. As the ride starts, Carl’s House rises from the center and lifts all the riders into the air. The center also has a small water feature. Found in the Mystical Grove section of Adventureland- while the Untamed Jungle area would fit better, the Mystical Grove simply needs more rides. Plus, Paradise Falls fits the water-centric vibe of the area.
    • The Caves of Adventureland (WT): Based off of Paris’s cave system. A series of maze-like caverns that allow guests to explore, popping in and out of the land. Great for avoiding rain! Notable landmarks in the caves include Skull Rock, a section with skeletons, and the roots of the Tree House. Found in the Mystic Grove section underneath the Tree House. I was considering having all of Adventure Isle here, but that’s not only massive but also unnecessary since this park has a Tom Sawyer Island equivalent with Old Pirate Island. The caves were too cool to pass up though!
  • Snack Carts: Popcorn (regular, buffalo, sweet chili, berry), spring rolls, ice cream, churros
Frontierland
  • Altered Attractions:
    • Sailing Ship Columbia: Now swapped to the Mark Twain Riverboat.
  • New Attractions:
    • Boundin’ (AR): Small family flat ride themed to Pixar’s Boundin’. Riders spin and swirl to the music from the short, with animated figures of the characters that spin along with them. Found in the Prairie section of the land.
  • Snack Carts: Popcorn (regular, kettle, buffalo, street corn), soft pretzels, ice cream, churros, French fries
Dark Fantasyland
  • Now renamed Dark Kingdom. May consider swapping “Kingdom” for a forest related word, though, but there is a castle, so it works.
  • Snack Carts: Popcorn (regular, caramel apple, sweet chili), soft pretzel, ice cream, churros
Mickey's ToonTown
  • Snack Carts: Popcorn (regular, cheddar, chocolate, birthday cake), Mickey pretzels, Mickey ice cream
Sleepy Hollow
  • Now renamed Allhallows Square to make it clear it's not specifically a Headless Horseman land, but a land themed to autumn and colonial-era America as well as Halloween itself. If anyone has suggestions for a better name let me know! Spirited Hollow? Fall River? Pottsfield?
    • (Just kidding on that last one, though part of me does want to put an Over the Garden Wall dark ride in because it’s my park and I can if I want to! 😂)
  • Altered Attractions:
    • Liberty Belle Riverboat: Now swapped to the Sailing Ship Columbia.
  • Altered Shops:
    • Ye Old Christmas Shoppe: Renamed to Harvest Moon Gifts, instead selling autumnal, Halloween, and Thanksgiving merch. Didn't really make sense to have a Christmas store here
  • Snack Carts: Popcorn (regular, kettle, apple cinnamon, pumpkin), ice cream, turkey legs
Bear Country
  • Now renamed The Great Outdoors to allow for more IP other than Country Bears to fit in the land. Part of me wonders if that may be clunky to say out loud though. “Let’s go to Fantasyland, and the let’s go to The Great Outdoors!” I do like the name a lot though.
    • Other name ideas: Redwood Valley, Pinetree Valley, Grizzly Valley, Pacific National Park, Grizzly National Park, Evergreen Woods, Wildernessland?
  • Altered Attractions:
    • Bear Country Walking Trails: now renamed to the Wilderness Walking Trails, as they spread throughout the entire land and not just the Bear Country sub area. Has three trails to pick from, all of varying lengths: Honeycomb Trail (short and sweet), Beehive Trail (longer), and Grizzly Trail (longest). Trails weave around and even through attractions, and have their own sights to see.
  • New Attractions:
    • Hibernatin' Caves (WT): A small walkthrough cave that connects to a cave on Old Pirate Island, adding another way to get there.
    • The Mystery Shack (WT): A faithful recreation of the Mystery Shack, with every inch available to explore- the exhibits, the gift shop, the living room, the Twin's room, the secret Wax figure room, even that one room with the carpet that switches bodies- and of course, the secret underground facility behind the vending machine. Once guests go there, they can have a Turtle Talk style Meet and Greet with Bill Cipher, who's been contained due to being in a weak state after the events of the show's finale and the Book of Bill. Idea for this is courtesy of @Sneaky!
    • Undetermined Attraction (DR, WT, EN, or AR): I’m leaving room for another s`maller attraction from a franchise unrelated to CBJ or Gravity Falls. Bambi? Fox and the Hound? Brother Bear? Call of the Wild, complete with Harrison Ford’s corpse and uncanny CH dogs? Shoot me some ideas!
  • Snack Carts: Popcorn (regular, kettle, honey, maple bacon), pretzels, ice cream, churros
  • I’m going back and forth on the decision to rename this land and allow more IP in, with how much is currently themed to the Country Bears- two rides, a show, an arcade, and a restaurant- but it seems like the general consensus is that this is the only land Gravity Falls can really work in. Despite Dark Fantasyland/Dark Kingdom not being 100% villains with the NBC dark ride, it’s probably better for GF to be in a more grounded setting.
Old Pirate Island
  • New Restaurants:
    • Captain Jack's (RS): Similar to the Paris restaurant, built into the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Diners can watch riders float by on boats as they enjoy Caribbean-style food.
  • Snack Carts: Popcorn (regular, garlic), ice cream, churros
Discovery Bay
  • The Dino Institue from Animal Kingdom has been brought here, acting as an organization founded by S.E.A. member Frederick O'Sill. Since it’s a different time period, we unfortunately don’t have Dr. Seeker, since he wouldn’t be born yet, but we could have his ancestor be the wildcard scientist who sends guests to the Lost World!
  • New Attractions:
    • Spin-osaurus (AR): A flat ride spinner located adjacent to the boneyard and a clone of Mater's Junkyard Jamboree. Guests load into wagons used at the dig site attached to mechanical dinosaurs that pull them around and around.
  • Altered Restaurants:
    • The T-Rex Cafe (QS): The interior is now inspired by Restaurantasaurus, being themed to a restaurant built in the Dino Institue’s former headquarters.
    • The Adventurer's Club (RS): Not fully changed, but still debating turning this into something else since a club that is themed around being there until midnight might not work in a theme park proper.
  • Snack Carts: Popcorn (regular, kettle, buffalo, garlic, cheddar), pretzels, ice cream, churros

And here's a grand total of everything so far! Let me know your thoughts!
