Theres just something thats soooo different being in Magic Kingdom, walking onto Main St that just isnt there with the rest of the parks. That feeling that you get that you just don't get at the others. OR maybe you get that same feeling about the other parks. For me no feeling like entereing the MK. For us we have to make it our first stop. It IS Disney! That feeling that comes over you of just pure relaxation. That feeling of " we are back, we are home" This is the first park we brought our kids way back in 1986 and just brings back such wonderful memories and warm feelings. Not that the others dont but no where near as much as magic Kingdom

Although he died years before it opened, the Magic Kingdom will always be WDW's version of "Walt's park" because it essentially is an improved version of Disneyland. The Magic Kingdom is WDW's only park that has Walt's hands on it. Epcot is Walt's park in name only while DHS and DAK have no connection whatsoever. Thus, walking into the Magic Kingdom is like a trip back in time, to an age when life was thought to be simpler.

I think that all of them have a special feeling when you enter...except DHS. Entering DHS is no different to me than entering any amusement park. Epcot is the most uplifting and AK is the loveliest.

But the MK is totally the most magical. :)

Unfortunately, Disney would never dare have The Thing lurking about the Magic Kingdom because:

A. They would try to kill it to make room for Stitch.

or...

B. Universal would sue. :p

We need time for things to happen.

Yeah - We all may disagree on things around here - sometimes quite feverently but let's face it...there's no one on this site that's NOT going to know EXACTLY what you're talking about.

OMG....And the opening at the MK cannot be beat. It's so magical...I start the day crying tears of joy, and end the day in the same manner with Wishes.

The MK is my home...it's the first and last park I visit on each trip. I love the other parks, but the MK is special to me for my childhood memories lie here. When I walk into the MK, I'm a 5 year old little girl again begging my father to buy me a balloon and a chip 'n' dale stuffed animal....

The MK has my heart....it always will be my first love (sorry boys!)

The castle is just gorgeous! It just screams DISNEY!:D
Spaceship Earth is rather mesmerizing in and of itself! The Fountain of Nations is also a focal point! It's beautiful!:D
I just don't get the same feeling walking towards the Sorcerer's Hat.:(
The Tree of Life is really cool, but you don't see it "right away". I guess maybe that's what makes a difference for me.:(

The "Hat" just don't cut it, so we use ToT as our HS "icon".
The Tree of Life is in the perfect location considering the layout of AK, but you are right about its viewing being delayed upon entry. It leaves AK without a "signature" entry feature. And I don't know what Disney could build to create one.
