Trip Report The Story Comes ALIVE! *COMPLETED*

Hello again, my friends.

For nearly a decade it has been such a joy for me to write about 50 (yes, 50!) different trips that I have taken to WDW - including one that was virtual. ;)

The reason? You, the reader.

I don’t do trip reports for my own documentation. I have journals for that. I write because I love interacting with y’all. Your encouragement, humor, curiosity and even snark (*ahem* @amjt660) assure me that I am not alone in my crazy affection for Disney parks. A big thanks to each of you!

I am very fortunate to be a frequent visitor to WDW (despite what @Mr Ferret 88 believes, I do not live there!) and am entering a season of monthly visits. Trip reporting is time consuming (as those of you who’ve written can attest) but I’m not ready to completely give it up - yet.

What I’d like to do is keep this as an ongoing TR for the rest of 2023. It will be highlights and moments, with live posting as the goal. My story coming alive, so to speak.

First up is spring break with my favorite girl.

Followed closely by a getaway with my favorite guy.

There will be Magician meets. New experiences. And (as always) the unexpected.

I hope you’ll join the fun!

Beaches and Cream is in our DNA.

Woody and I had a very personable server last month who knew I was coming back with Em, so I requested her at check-in.

She was so excited to see me and meet Em that she kept bringing us napkins - forgetting that she had already delivered some.

Yes, that’s three separate piles!

Chicken “burger” for me (that’s what she called it) and cheeseburger for Em.

Em waffled back and forth with ordering the No Way José - it’s too much sundae for her - but I reminded her it’s a vacation splurge and she didn’t have to eat all of it.

She listens to her mama.

(And no, she didn’t finish it.)

Apparently my dessert was a bowl full of whipped cream.

(There was a scoop of ice cream buried beneath.)

After wandering around Beach Club we caught the bus to MK.

But before transferring to the monorail to return to the Poly, we visited @Darstarr ‘s favorite restroom on property.

I am not kidding.

The No Way Jose is the most awesome dessert on the planet. Too much for one person, of course, but I remember that on my last-ever trip with my mom for her 80th birthday in 2014, I took her for her first meal at Beaches and Cream, and she too insisted that I order a NWJ even though she didn't eat PB and there was no way she was going to share it or I was going to finish it.

I noticed something in the volcano room I never noticed before - poor Pluto gets shot out of a submarine!

Though I am known for being a rule follower, I do have a little rebellious streak….

WOW, great timing!!!
I LOVE it when Disney Magic happens like this! 😍 :geek:

Ours, too!

I can never eat all mine, either. But Mama's right. It's a great splurge and what we can eat of it is pretty tasty!

@Darstarr This IS a really good bathroom! I have a few favorite bathrooms, too!

After resting in the room for a bit we returned to DHS. We perused the shops, saw our friends and used our recovery LL for MMRR.

Will nothing stop us this time?

IMG_9991.jpeg

Nope. We came to a stop a few brief times (no one except repeat riders would recognize it as unusual) but the ride did not halt and immediately power down like it did here this morning.

Snapped a pic of the secret door we walked through after the evac.

Now you know. 😉

There was no way we were gonna miss Happily Ever After tonight!

And so we, registered guests of the Polynesian, joined the riff raff hanging out on the beach waiting for the show to start. (Yes I went there - sorry not sorry!)

This was only a fraction of the crowd.

Once the fireworks began we looked skyward and silently sang along to the soundtrack. It was the perfect end of a fantastic day.

So jealous of you an Em this morning! Caught up on the latest installment before I started my day. Now I’m sitting at my desk, looking forward to a day of back-to-back meetings, prepping for tomorrow’s meetings, a School Board meeting after work and, to end the day, hoping I get to Gus’ baseball game on time. I wish I had a Tron boarding group in my future. Sorry, I’ll stop whining/ranting now.

Hope you and Em have a TOTALLY MAGICAL day ❤️

Since I made Em suffer through one of the loud and noisiest queues in MK, I let her choose our next attraction.

It happened to be Tangled. :joyfull:

After we headed for a dual fave.

And were shocked (shocked, I say!) where the line began.

We’d not seen it this long (early in the morning) since the pandemic - when 6ft. spacing required lengthy queues.

We waited about 10 minutes and bailed.

We had a good reason.
