I am hyped for Infinity War too -- to be honest they should have kept Star Wars in December -- 3 years in a row of $1 Billion+ -- maybe that's a sign it's a good slot? :angelic:
I totally agree with you, I'm sure Mary Poppins Returns will do great and obliterate Aquaman and Bumblebee! If it is as good as expected, which I believe will be mixed as people always like controversies, the only thing I'm not sure about is how it will do outside of USA, and Europe

I've picked the dates for my next Disney World trip. December 9th-15th. A couple quick questions.

1. Do park hours generally extend during holiday times or would I have to go a little closer to Christmas to get this perk (chose this particular week since it's my birthday week :) )

2. Definitely going to be staying at an All Star resort to cut costs this time around. Any idea how far in advance I should book it? Right now looking at my current savings the hours I'm working I should probably be able to pay off a hotel/theme park tickets package by June, or July at the absolute latest. Would this risk the All Star resorts filling up for December? (If that's the case I might be able to take a loan out with my grandma, haha)

1) There is a mixture. I've seen hours extend a few days before going to the park I have also had Park Wide announcements stating the park will stay open another 2 or 3 hours on those dates. Not saying that they will happen but there is a good chance.

2). The first two weeks of December are typically fairly open weeks, the parks and crowds don't typically pick up until the 20th (though that date has been coming early each year). I don't think you will have a problem getting the room in June or July. I think I ordered my two week at Port Orleans a few Decembers ago in August. ( I can double check for you). Mouse savers ( I think that's the website) usually has alot of info on when the best deals tend to drop for certain months of travel.

I used to go to Disneyland yearly during my birthday weekend and the crowds were very light, but then we went that same weekend in 2016 and the crowds were straight up the WORST I'd ever seen at Disney. So bad that at one point I had to go to first aid to ask for someone to help escort me out of the park because I was close to having a panic attack. Got to see the break area between Main Street and Tomorrowland out of it but still, not a fun experience. I ended up spending most of my time at Trader Sam's that trip, haha. With WDW though generally I'm not as concerned about crowds because the place is so spread out even in the Magic Kingdom. Basically when Disneyland is crowded the ENTIRE resort starts to feel like the one corridor between Small World and Peter Pan at MK (Which I QUICKLY learned to be the main problem spot of WDW, haha)

Just how insane do crowds get the week leading up to Christmas? If it means more park time with guaranteed extended hours then I might consider it. The extended hours thing is honestly the main selling point of a solo trip.

I have had days/nights during the first two weeks of December where many of the lines are 30 mins or less, but I've seen some of the lines longer.. You honestly get a mix depending on the weather and the days. Some of your big ticket rides (mine train, pandora) will have long lines no mater what, but Everest and Dinosaur will have 10/20 mins lines for most of the day.

I was underwhelmed with Mine Train and could honestly entirely skip it next trip if I had to, haha. Pandora is one of those things you just have to accept will always have a wait, much like Cars Land at DCA. This trip I'm thinking about skipping Studios entirely. I had my fill of it last trip and nothing in Toy Story Land entices me to go back. This trip will mostly be Animal Kingdom focused since that's the park I got the least amount of time in, with of course at least one or two full days at MK and Epcot as well.

How are crowds closer to the end of December?

Do not go to Disney end of December. There is a reason the block out AP holders the last two weeks of December. New Years eve can have Soarin at a 4 hour wait.
