Okay I guess I will do similar run downs like Englanddg...even though I'm sure a bunch of people are ed at me right now...
I also thought that we should include it for a few more reasons. 1) it is currently the highest grossing movie of all time. 2) It has an outstanding mix of CGI and Live action 3) The film had a good fit for our vehicle and attraction.
1) Just because it is highest grossing does not mean it's the best movie ever, or even memorable.
2) good point
3) Good. 50 points for Gryffinfor.

Not that it's that big a deal (it's not), I"m just being honest and sharing my thoughts. <grin>

We may have knocked out a website and tried a risky unique presentation, but that doesn't mean a win, and we knew that.

And, submissions like what you (Team Land, I haven't looked at Sea yet, but expect theirs is just as good) are why.

Sometimes clean substance is worth more than presentation, and I know JDM, he'll look at the substance first, and everything else later.

I think we can all agree, he's a fair judge.

Alright, resort all questions to this thread or the PMs, and not the main thread, as my critiques are now a draft there. They'll come either tomorrow or the next day. :) @BryceM may post his sooner.
FYI even if your critiques are a draft, you can press the "more options" button to open the editor in it's own page, go to the main thread in another tab, backspace the current draft, type what you need to, go back to the "more options" tab, and save the draft there.

But that is unnecessarily complicated, and you're right to try to avoid it.

Yeah...I'm just not a fan of it (though I'll go see Avatarland)

Again, I totally GET why you guys included it. I would have too in your position. But, I found some of your other scenes more enticing, and really it felt like it was just thrown in there because it should be.

Agreed on all three points. It's not very memorable in my opinion, but only because of the plot (what plot?) that drags it down.

The visuals are simply amazing.

And finishing out my comments for Team Land before moving on to Team Sea, wow!

First, the food sounds great (yeah, I'm a fatty, and I like food, which is why I like restaurant challenges!)

But, great concept, excellent presentation. It was smooth and easy to read, and I actually read it a few times (this is my third readthrough I'm making these comments during)...

Formatting was good, the pictures worked perfectly, I loved your custom artwork and your map.

GREAT JOB!

The ONLY thing that bothered me was your use of kuka arms...

It sounds more like what you really meant was articulated hydraulic cylinders? The arms would be severaly hampered due to the base of your ride vehicle, and really couldn't be put to good use. I SUPPOSE they could work, but I'm not really sure if the kuka arm is the correct engineering application here.

Or I could be missing something?
About the last part, I'm really no engineer, so I couldn't exactly think of anything better to call them. ;) From now on, call the Kuka arms whatever Englanddg called them!! :p

Yeah. This was my only problem with Team Land as well. KUKA arms have a weight limit, I believe. Great ride system, but something other than KUKAs probably would have worked better.

Other than that, I loved Team Land's ride, especially the opening. Any ride with the Lumiere Brothers wins in my book. Everything else was great too.

And Team Air, wow. Presentation was incredible, as were the concepts.

I think everyone did incredibly well this project and I can't wait to see the results. It'll be sad to see someone go.

I don't think any of us are ride system experts, so I'm sure you're right. Just take "Kuka arms" and substitute "hydraulic cylinders" wherever necessary.

Vox and I both have engineering backgrounds, and were chatting about it privately (hope you don't mind me bringing you into this @Voxel )

So, I'll accept that rewrite!

It didn't keep me from enjoying your presentation or understanding what you were trying to do with your vehicle. Your descriptions were quite well done, and I could picture myself in the scenes (most of them, Avatar felt lackluster, as I noted already) and like I was on the ride.

Really well done!

How dare you have the audacity to drag me into this!!! :p

Team Air your presentation was simply breathtaking although no Marvel Movie has made Top 100 grossing films in France. As said by this website http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lists_of_highest-grossing_films_in_France
No, but they have made top opening weekend box office.

Way ahead of you there (as in, we did discuss that)...from our team PM

The IP chosen is Marvel. The reason for this is not only obvious, but I think a chance that cannot be overlooked. The IP is HUGE in Europe, with Avengers being the 15th highest grossing opening in French history and 13th in the UK. It grossed 214 million in the western European market for Avengers alone. In addition, killer Marvel attractions which cannot be put into Disneyland due to space constraints or WDW due to contract rights, create the ability to increase international draw to the park from US and Asian based markets.
