Results in the next 15 minutes? I'm going to the movies and don't want to think about it during the movie... :D;)
I'm waiting on a response from Jdm on whether or not I can post the results since he will be gone for the majority of the day. After that we will go right into the boardroom. I'm also writing up the next challenge as we speak, the timing with me and jdm just did not match up well.

Sam thank you for your frozen concerns and we shared many of them that's why many of the attractions entertainments and such were designed to be easy chance. The ice shows all come from Norwegian culture in their core and could be changed to remove the frozen elements. We discussed that but forgot to mention in this:). But either way I think frozen would be safe for now being the 3rd highest grossing movie in Japan ever.
I understand, and like I said the entertainment parts were my favorite. I really did like your submission, only I am not a huge fan of lands only being based on one film, and while this was not the full case for the land it was a bit too Frozen to me. However, there were a lot of elements the I really liked and I think could have been expanded upon.
Also, out of curiosity, does that mean that Red has the last idol, or Z/tcool wil have the last?
I'm guessing that it is Red, this means that if Sea is put up for elimination, Red would be safe and not go.

Also...vote for Baton Rouge in this poll:http://strawpoll.me/2648990

The participants had to make a bid book for their cities in a bid for the 2023 Pan-American Games. Me and my friends used this as a test run for an actual bid we will propose to the city mayor and council. Our very own Red even helped us with creating a brand image and we appreciate all of her help.

Now of course you don't have to, but it would be cool if you did! :)

You can vote for another city too and to see the other bid books here are the links:

Does Baton Rouge has the infrastructure to pull that off? (maybe it does... but you have to convince me before I vote)

JDM isn't writing the challenges himself?

Sam, I'm glad you're a judge, because you do a good job, but this is JDM's comp. Maybe you discussed having you write the challenges, and maybe you didn't. It doesn't matter to me, because it's his comp, and his challenges are one of the reasons I signed up.

If JDM isn't online right now, I wouldn't mind waiting until he gets back.

I always just assumed the challenges and timelines were written long ahead of time. Heck, I'm starting to make an outline for one in the springtime.

I'm just angry about where I got eliminated...I just missed the official cutoff on where elim contestants can help host! :p

That's what I thought too! I didn't do that for WEDCAR, and that's why it failed.

Well, that's another discussion... I don't think eliminated contestants should be able to host at all, but I'll save that one for after the comp.

Well, honestly, I don't really either. And especially when I was competing I didn't. But, since Sam and Matt already were, I thought it could be fun because I have nothing else to do:p

Yes. Baton Rouge not only has the right facilities in place, but it also has the density that would enable us to host the games with relatively short times. Additionally Baton Rouge has the environment to host a spectacular event. Our plan is focused around the concept of "Two clusters, one village". Our two clusters are focused on existing and new sporting facilities. The first cluster is the University Cluster which is focused around the sporting facilities of LSU and temporary facilities that will be constructed. The second cluster is focused on the South Medical District and will consist of a mixture of new facilities and temporary ones.

Baton Rouge itself is very large city for the area, and despite what our downtown skyline may imply it is very large. It is home to two big state/national colleges, the states top high schools, the best medical district outside of Houston and Atlanta, a slew of research facilities that are on an international level, and a business environment that includes tech such as IBM and energy like CBI to advertising as it is the home to Lamar. The greater New Orleans and Baton Rouge area include an international airport, a metro one, and a smaller one would be able to handle the crowds. As a part of hosting the games it is in the plans to expand Baton Rouge's metro airport, improve and expand existing interstates, and work with Texas among other South East and South West states to construct a high speed rail network. The city is home to nearly 1 million people (closer estimates are around 900,000.

The Pan-Ams themselves are a smaller event compared to the Olympics with less Athletes and Nations. Participating nations are limited to the Americas.

Jdm asked me to do it. So no it was not a decision I made, but something jdm asked me to do.
Also, if you win the vote, what exactly happens? That is to say, what's the purpose of the poll?
Well it is a competition, but for the team trying to create a full bid this has been a learning experience in how to improve the bid and is really a test for us.

We/I encourage you to look at the other bids and make choices based on those...but we would love it if you voted for BR.

Great reasoning and you have done a lot of research in the topic. I am impressed I just want to point out two things for the pan America game that you should be ready to answer if you make this an official bid for the pan America games.
The current pan America games are costing roughly 3 billion dollars. You might want to find the cost estimates and breakdowns and suggest ways to off set that in taxs more then just stating the money will come to from Taxs. The city will also want a plan for what to do with the infrastructure that will be build. Do they donate to the schools turn into residential apartments. These are things they would ideally like planned before even making a bid
Another concern I have is the buss infrastructure. If there is one thing u have heard about Baton Rouge is their bus system and how late they run. The colleges in the areas invested in their own bus systems so that the students had something more reliable. This is an issues that has to be address (and it might already have been)
Small critiques. :). I am an infrastructure guys this is how I think

One Little Spark...
2 challenges away from final!

3 more weeks (give or take) of the comp.

It's been...a long one.

I'm surprised you already know a great deal about Baton Rouge, I am really impressed. ;)

Our vision for the games is one centered around legacy, including a financial one. We are realistically estimating cost (without inflation) to be close to four billion dollars. Following the examples of Atlanta 1996 we hope to raise as much money privately as possible with a small portion from tax payers if needed. The plan is for all tax-payer dollars to be spent on infrastructure, and legacy projects that will belong to the community afterwards. An example of legacy projects would be the Aquatic Center or Velodrome and the expansion of the River Center. Other facilities like the ones at LSU will be funded and owned by LSU after the games. The Athletes village will a mix of student dorms and private housing. Retailing space will also be created in order to encourage the creation of a larger community.

To address the traffic problem, especially the terrible CATS system: Over the past two years CATS has been making a visible effort to improve its current offerings and times are starting to go down. Additionally a new light rail line is in the planning stages and this line will connect the downtown, airport, and LSU. We hope to expand this line as a part of the games. The next project (besides the high speed rail and interstate improvements) will be a plan to reorganize the bus system. We plan on dividing the bus system into five arrondissements or districts each district would have a small fleet of buses only for that district and then a sixth to serve the whole city. This would mean quicker times and more riders.

I hope that answers your questions, and any more questions, ideas, or critiques are welcome! :)
