Ok, double bacon quarter cheese plate with hashbrowns scattered, smothered, covered, chunked and diced and a 12 oz bass ale. Time to review...stream of consciousness...
1) Like the custom logo!
2) The Vinter Bay logo is ok...the Ice Castle could have been a bit more defined (took me a second to realize what it was). Also, the shape of the helmet is...off, somehow. It sortof reminds me of a chocolate truffle. Not that I can put my finger on what would make it better, but something about it is just off. Different shape for the horns maybe? Make it shorter and more squat? I dunno. It's a GOOD logo, but not a great one.
3) We both chose the same area, but considering what is available at DisneySea, this shouldn't surprise anyone. <grin>
4) Ok, the video. Music was great. But, towards the end started to remind me more of the middle east than Norway...
5) Loved the "travel" graphic. Did your team make that? If so, what tool did you use?
6) Only other nit picks...should have paid more attention to font. Find Family is Times New Roman, but all your other fonts are sans-serif. (A serif, for those who don't know, is this -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serif) Anyhow, as a result, it was a bit harder to read and stuck out. Not just the font, but the placement as well. The rest was great though! (and, this is a nitpick)
7) Hoo Hoo Haus (chuckles)
8) Some of the logos area great, like A Frozen Adventure, some not so much. Certainly a nice play with fonts. The Cliff Restaurant, Frozen, Viking Traders and Below Zero I really liked. The rest were ok, but nothing spectacular.
9) "Discover the Sprit
Vinter Bay with our Interactive Map on this youtube link,
right here on our post!" As has been noted, easier to just open it up in youtube. And, the links all open there...
10) Music is nice. Throughout. So...since it's hard to know what I've clicked on, I'll say it with each section.
Viking Traders
1) What is Sailin? That should have been explained somewhere (I think). I know now (thanks google), but it's a tab obscure.
2) These slides with details would have been easier to read if they were bulleted, or at least not organized as a long run-on
3) You need a pause and return link at the end... (I suspect that carries for each of the slides, so I'll only mention it here)
Entertainment
1) I like the Ice Harvester mini-parade
2) Jon the Juggler is likewise great, and I love that you found a video for it.
3) Below Zero is also great! But, how do they keep the instruments from melting without also freezing the guests?
4) Anything with Goofy is a win for me. And, great to call up this old classic cartoon. Fantastic idea! I am a bit confused though, is this a costumed show? Or an interactive video? The seed is there, but seemed like it needed a bit more fleshing out.
5) Tricky Troll as an alternate route is great. And, unlike Goofy, I found this VERY well thought out.
6) Ah, the Ice Cave concept explains my earlier concern about Below Zero. I still think it would be a tad nippy though, even with Hot Cocoa.
7) Skate Rink is a neat idea...
--Ok, as a side note here, I really wish these weren't in a playlist (not sure if you have to do that for the links, I don't think you do)...but the autostart of the next video is annoying...especially since I have to bounce back to the map...
Cliff Restaurant
1) Cliff Restaurant is a great idea!
2) Interesting to add multiple types of milks.
3) The lunch menu looks fantastic!
4) A lot of these offerings, however, are Japanese. I totally get that, however, I'd like to have seen some twists to make them more "norwegian". That could easily have been done with the Nori and Sashimi dishes, as raw fish (herring and salmon) are also common in scandinavian foods.
5) That pickle appetizer would be better as a food cart item, I think.
6) As we get into the Dinner Menu, this really just seems to be a Japanese restaurant shoved into Norway. My same comment as #4 remains. It could have used a few more Norwegian influences.
7) Hahaha, I ALMOST did a cookie platter before I decided to go Family Style with the restaurant. TEAM SYNERGY!
8) I laughed every time Water came up as an option. Adding Solo was great.
9) Ah, this is the first one to have a back to map, and didn't autoplay. NICE!
Merchants of the Ice
1) Same comment as before...the detail slides are a bit hard to read. A bulleted slide would have worked better.
2) ROYAL CHOCOLATE COMPANY! GREAT IDEA!! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!! Great subtle movie tie in concept and would be tons of fun!
3) This one also had a back to map.
A Frozen Adventure
1) Intro was great. This video is obviously the one you spent the most time on (so far).
2) Oaken Animetronic is a GREAT idea for a queue attraction! Great script too, I'd LOVE to see this!
3) The interactive queue was extremely well thought out! Loved the game ideas, and they fit perfectly in a queue.
4) Ok, paused the video, because that queue deserves this.
5) That ride vehicle reminds me of something...I wonder what...
Nice job drawing over it to make it "unique" though. <grin> And, I think the shape and style DOES work well as an "ice carriage" of sorts.
6) We've (I've now worked with all you guys) talked about doing CGI ridethrough videos for ride descriptions before. And while this isn't perfect, I think you guys have NAILED the best ride through description I've ever seen in these comps. GREAT job. I think you set a new bar here for ride throughs.
7) Is Anna running over a shadow effect?
8) With projections, the final effect would work excellently, and not be unfeasable. I really liked that.
9) Just EPIC. EPIC I TELL YOU! One more:
Hoo Hoo House
1) Not much to say here. Really liked the menu a lot. Great choices and the pictures were perfect.
Vinter Bay Snack Carts
1) I wouldn't have added the Blue Curry to Hoo Hoo and the Snack Carts
2) Viking Duffy, EXCELLENT idea. Duffy is very popular in the Asian parks.
Atlantic Voyage
1) Nice queue design.
2) Nice ride vehicle concept (wonder where I've seen that before?)
3) I must have missed it, but Guests Dining is over the ride?
4) This ride seemed less well thought out. At first, I thought you were going to have a wonderful cultural thrill experience, but it felt less and less like that. Seems like this one got rushed. Still a good ride, but I wouldn't call it an E-Ticket. Maybe a C. Still a neat short ride.
Also... Odin...
5) Neat little transition choice between the stormy sea and the Norway landscape. That worked well.
6) Overall, I didn't like this ride very much. I've already said some of the reasons why...but, it really just felt..."incomplete". And the thrill sections didn't really capture my attention. I also didn't like the concept of Odin (a god) as the narrator / companion / guide. The ride was good, but felt like it was missing a LOT of detail.
Summary
Well, that's it. Overall, great job! I liked that you took a risk with the video and the links, though it was a bit clunky at times. But, it's a great way to present a land without going all out website (similar presentation concept, without all the coding, but a LOT more video making).
Good jerb!
