DC SUPER HERO CITY

Coming June 2018

While keeping Cypress Gardens in any fashion appeals to the nostalgic guests, it is a sore thumb for LEGOLand. A park that is in a frantic hustle to try and draw any guests away from the major four resorts in Florida (WDW, UNI, Sea World, Busch Gardens), it does not yet have enough people coming to be able to have a calm area such as Cypress Gardens. And it just so happens that one of LEGO's most lucrative IP's has almost no representation. DC Super Hero's will fit perfectly into the land occupied by Cypress Gardens, and with a constant stream of sets, video games, and a LEGO Batman movie in the pipelines, there is no better time to capitalize on the craze. With there already being a Warner Bros. Game Zone in the park, the two companies are evidently on good terms, so an agreement could surely be agreed on, and Six Flags would not be an issue as they are not the movie versions of the characters obviously. This mini land will feature a 4D movie/simulator that features a half circle screen that totally immerses you, an Aquaman flat ride, and an elaborate M&G area.

Now, you may be wondering, why not a groundbreaking dark ride? Or any sort of E ticket? While LEGOLand could use one pretty badly, there are two things working against that idea. First off, LEGOLand has never spent a lot of money on the parks. There is no official amount of how expensive the park was to build, but by using the budgets for slightly larger and newer parks in Asia, it couldn't have costed more than $250 million. That is almost as much as Disney spent on Radiator Springs Racers alone. There is not a chance that the pocket book would be that wide open, so budgets must be modest. Additionally, the land that Cypress Gardens occupies is quite small, and there may not even be room there for an E ticket. The route of a mini land is much more realistic and practical for little LEGOLand, and it would still cause an attendance bump that would please upper management.

BATMAN & FRIENDS BOLD ADVENTURE

th

Batman has been kidnapped, and your favorite DC heroes need help! Join Superman, Green Lantern, and more on a daring journey to rescue their friend from an evil team of villains including Bane, Lex Luthor, and The Joker! This 4D extravaganza features seat movement, water, wind, and seat tickler effects, laser and smoke effects, and AA's popping up occasionally! This is the crown jewel of the land, and one of the most high tech 4D shows in the world.

FACADE/QUEUE:

You will enter through the front doors of the Wayne Manor, which is hosting an open house. Wind through the extensive halls and pass some great sight gags.

PRE-SHOW 1:

You enter a large set of double doors and are in the Library. You pack into the room, and once everyone is in, Alfred (who is there in AA form) turns on the large TV and you see Batman. He thanks you for coming, and starts to tell you what to expect on your tour. Suddenly, Bane and Deathstroke run up on Batman and take him with them! The feed cuts out, and you hear Robin over the intercom system say for you to head to the Batcave! Alfred tells you that to get there you have to exit through the secret staircase. Right on cue, Alfred hits a button on the remote and a bookshelf opens down and a large staircase is revealed. Guests will walk down it to get to Pre-Show 2. Handicapped guests will be able to go down an elevator.

PRE-SHOW 2:

Once you arrive downstairs, you will see a Robin AA similar to the Buzz Lightyear one at Space Ranger Spin. He will explain the whole situation, and that the tour has now been cancelled, but he says for a consolation prize you can join him and some other heroes try and save Batman. Of course you say yes, and Robin tells you to head to the garage, where there are a few extra Batmobiles for us. We then exit to the right and are directed into the garage.

VEHICLES:

In the garage there are 40 Batmobiles that hold 4 people in 2 rows of 2. You get in and await all of your best friends to get into theirs.

EXPERIENCE:

Once everyone is locked in and ready to go, the large "garage door" opens and you speed out. You catch up with Robin, and he says that he called all of his good friends, and that you are all rendezvousing in front of the Gotham Bank. You are almost there when you are bombarded by The Penguin and Catwoman, who leaps onto your car and violently jerks it forward. Luckily, Flash zooms in and helps Robin stop them, and you continue on. You make it to the Gotham Bank, and there are cop cars and fire trucks everywhere, they are inside! The cops won't let you in, so your Batmobile has its wings eject and you fly up! You crash through a 14th story window, and you see Deathstroke tied up on the floor, the work of Green Lantern. He tells us that Bane fled with Batman down to the safe, so we head that way. After evading police fire as we are not allowed to be in there, we make it to the safe, but Batman is not there, neither is Bane; only Lex Luthor. The door locks behind you, and it looks like you are toast, but then out of nowhere Wonder Woman crashes into the scene and subdues Luthor. She informs us that The Joker has Batman on the roof, and we need to hurry! We rush up there to see The Joker's helicopter flying away, so we follow in pursuit. A steady stream of fire goes back and forth to no avail, until Robin's wing gets clipped and he goes down. All looks lost for us, as The Joker targets us next. Right before he fires, Superman soars out of nowhere and crashes directly in The Joker's helicopter! The Man of Steel causes it to implode into a ball of flame, and Superman catches Batman as he is flying across the sky. We all head to the ground together, where we see all of the villains involved being arrested. We return to the Wayne Manor, where we are greeted by all of the heroes who congratulate us on our daring mission! We enter the garage and the door shuts, ending the adventure.

GIFT SHOP:

You will exit into a gift shop selling any LEGO DC merchandise you can imagine.

AQUAMAN CAROUSEL

This could be considered similar to King Triton's Carousel in DCA, where you would ride on different aquatic animals in LEGO form, hosted by Aquaman.

M&G:

lego02.jpg

Inside The Daily Planet is an array of M&G's with countless DC characters, both good and bad. There will be a rotating selection of characters throughout the day, with a core group who meets throughout the day. Each character has a themed room where they can meet guests. Every time you visit, you will be able to meet a different character! In total, there will be 25 characters available to meet at certain times, with more characters being added every so often.

After demolition of Cypress Gardens and the construction of everything, I would put a rough price tag on the land at $120 million dollars, which would be the biggest expansion in LEGOLand history! Make sure you come and stop by in June 2018 when DC Super Hero City storms into LEGOLand Florida!

After three tiring nights of working after school, I got my concept posted, and man, am I happy with it! :D

To be honest, I'm surprised more people didn't use Ninjago.. it's got a film coming out next year that's sure to be popular.

Everyone who has posted so far has done a great job in my opinion. Can't wait to see who wins!
I wouldn't be surprised if at least one more person uses Ninjago by the end of the night.

Wink wink. ;) :p

So a little tcool update -
I thought that challenge was a project veto challenge irk why though. Guess Zi was just tired when I read it.
On a non comp note I visited DHS today! I rode GMR I noticed that Dorothy & co move a lot in the ride. The fantasmic dinner package at Meltose is great , but I'm a rather picky eater do I didn't like about 1/2 of what I had, but the Seating was nice. I have now officially been to every attraction at DHS. HISTK was cool and I admit I got lost for a moment. I met Mike and Sulley they were cool. Saw LMA for 10 minutes until the show malfunctioned and got canceled. Geeked out over the OUAT facade. Visited Jakku and I want to go back! Met Kylo Ren and its official he is the second creepiest character to meet at WDW the first being Jessie at MK. The SW fireworks were nice along with BATB. Skipped Frozen , mermaid, and Indy this trip a bit sad, but I'll get over it!:D Overall DHS still my favorite park.
Tomorrow I'm visiting MK.
