I need some clarification.

-Has Zweiland chosen what to do with the reward? I don't want to plan too far in advance if I'm the one who ends up getting the IP.

-Much like Vipraa I'm incredibly confused about the actual confines of this project :p Basically to do much of anything with the area you need to take out both the Subs and Autopia. Are we allowed to take out Autopia? Because if not, that gives us an incredibly small footprint to work with :p
To answer people's questions, you may take out the Autopia, yes.

On behalf of @IDInstitute, here's Recondite Adventure!
-=+=-

The seas have been a mystery since the beginning. Man has told stories, created legends, and always dreamed about what could lie beneath the waters. Throughout many advancements and discoveries of the lands of the planet, and even into outer space, one place that we still remains a mystery is what the seas truly hold. Maybe someday, man will explore to find this. Maybe...tomorrow...

Episode 7 Immunity Challenge-
Submarine Sacrifice
@IDInstitute Presents:

Recondite Adventure

When Submarine Voyage closed forever on September 9th, 1998, Tony Baxter was quoted in saying, "This is one of the worst days of my life". And, he was not alone in this feeling. Many die-hard Disney fans who have experienced Submarine Voyage were crushed that such an amazing, classic attraction was to be discontinued.
Its eventual replacement kept the die-hard's emotions in sight, but Finding Nemo Submarine voyage just was not the same. Like we fear Disney is doing with all new attractions these days, it simply forced a character tie-in when it did not help the attraction at all.

Now, a new attraction is called for. Saving both the future of Disneyland, as well as faith in the die-hards of what Disney still can do, a new classic is going to be designed for this plot. While it doesn't use the same technology or track as the former attractions, it still keeps the theme of exploring the seas, which is too valuable to pass up. This new ride is...The Recondite Adventure.

Backstory
The name recondite adventure means an adventure to someplace little known and mysterious. As the sea always remains mysterious to many, this is the name of an organization formed in 1971 by Captain Bruce and a few other nautical friends, wanting to see what is out there. This caught on by many. Funding for a way to explore was provided as "seas-fever" spread across the world. Suddenly, everyone was curious about what secrets can be explored at the depths of the oceans. Finally, after years of preparation and planning, the adventure was ready. However, the mission team includes you.

Location
This attraction only takes up the same former plot of Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.
favi2g.png

Facade/Building
Because this ride relies more on show scenes than the submarine aspect, the mountain structure (show building) is extended farther out than how far it currently lies.
n30z8l.png

This extended part of the show building is themed to sea-side rocks like the current structure. Along the outside of it, in the area between the guests walkway and rock building, will have water filled into it to theme it to the ocean. A a simple Imagineering trick of darkening the floor of the area will make it seem like the water is much deeper than it actually is.

The last part of the facade is the entrance. Like the current one, it is not very grand, but it will have theming that crosses nautical with Tomorrowland futuristic, to really set up the mission. The monorail line will cleverly act as the archway.

Queue
As there isn't very much space in this location, the queue will be rather simple, but will make good use of what space is there, and greatly improve the current queue.

While currently it is a simple, concrete, back-and-forth line, this replacement will try to fix that. First, the boring concrete will be replaced with "aged" wood, to theme the area and make it look like an old dock. Also, simple chain lines will be replaced with more permanent looking (and better themed) poles and handles.

That is just the first part of the queue however. After a walk along the dock, before loading, you enter a room. It is like a marina shop and office, except holding much more technologically advanced tools. Different things can be seen such as compasses and maps, however also different equipment that guests don't quite understand their purpose, but are interesting. This room is not very large, but it is that last part of the queue before entering into the loading area.

The loading area is just outside the building, back on the dock. A Cast Member instructs you to enter your vehicle, and keep your hands, arms, feet, and legs inside at all times, and wishes you good luck on the pilgrimage.

Vehicles
The ride vehicles, called SeaDrivers, here resemble a cross between the submarines and Spiderman-style ride vehicles.

2ry2erp.png

They fit 12 people, 4 per row, and have a very unique feature. During the departure scene (read below for more details), when the vehicles "dive underwater", a glass roof slides out from the back over the guests to give the submarine sensation, but with a more unique ride technology. This retractable roof and scene will be explained more as you read on. Lastly, while they are not boats, their design makes it appear that they are floating on the water in some scenes rather than a track.

Ride Stats
Attraction Type: Dark Ride
Number of Vehicles: 20
Riders Per Vehicle: 12
Duration: 10 minutes
Riders per Hour: 2,400
Riders per Day: 26,400

Ride Experience

Scene 1- The Departure:
As guests board their SeaDrivers, their vehicle seems to be floating in the bay. As they continue down a quick path on the sea, they reach a cave. This is when the retractable, glass roof expands and closes over the riders, covering the vehicle, and it dives down into the water (really just a dip in the track, with a mist and waterfall effect to make it seem as if they are diving into the ocean). To help this effect, it is dark so they cannot fully make out the outside beyond the water rushing past the glass covering of the vehicle, and audio effects play water and bubble sounds. In reality, they are hardly moving down at all.
010_3.JPG

Image from original Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. This dive into the cave and water will be similar to the departure in Scene 1.

Inside the SeaDriver, guests hear through radio Captain Bruce (think in an Australian accent) communicating to the guests about the mission.

"Ah, hello there fellow sea adventurers! I'm glad you could make it to this journey, it's going to be incredible what we'll see! All of the mysteries will be solved, and we will see the majesty, danger, and everything in between first hand! Right now, we are diving hundreds of miles per hour down to the depths of the sea! At the bottom, you're SeaDrivers will make it to us at a research facility set up, where we can explore and study the sea! We'll see you soon!"

Scene 2- The Bottom: Soon after the audio message finishes, the diving simulation comes to a stop. A screen in front of each row gives statistics of how deep they are and their geographical location. At the bottom, lights on the show set flash, and you can now make out what looks like an underwater research facility. Doors open, and your vehicle rides through into a draining room, where water appears to drain away. The second pair of doors then open, into the facility.

Scene 3- The Research Facility: Entering into the room, the retractable roof now releases, and you are out in "fresh air" again. However, you are really very deep into the ocean. You see a few animatronic scientists to the side working. Different equipment and work tools lie are seen in the room. The biggest draw however is a giant glass window that looks out into the ocean. Different mystical-looking fish can be seen swimming about, using similar screen technology that enables guests to see the Finding Nemo characters in Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, as well as The Seas With Nemo and Friends. In addition, out there is different types of undersea plant life, coral, and rock formations. Soon, the audio starts up again.

"Welcome, adventurers! I'm glad you can make it down! I'm sure you are wondering how we got here in the first place though. As a matter of fact, this facility was set up above ground and set here, so we still have a lot of exploring to do! Keep going, and take a look around the bottom of the sea. As you can tell, it sure looks different down here. It's majestic and beautiful...but also dangerous"

i252mo.png

Scene 4- The Sea: This scene is very similar to the previous. Here, you enter a separate, darker room, and the vehicles turn towards the glass walls, where you can look out towards the ocean to look at all of the different life forms and natural formations are out there. Many are similar to the picture above. However, many of them have some different fish animatronics and projections, as well as differently colored coral, rocks, and plants that make it look very mystical. This is a very beautiful show scene, and one that really makes the ride incredible and fun for the family.

Scene 5- The Expedition: The audio returns on towards the end of scene four:

"Well, what do you think? The sea is a real beauty, eh? Well, we here know there is still so much more out there than just what we observed here. So, here's the mission. Your SeaDriver is about to go out into the waters. It will be dark out there, and we don't know what dangers await you. So, we have the vehicles
equipped to prepare, but be careful. A sea camera will be recording everything in light, and it should be auto piloted. So, your only job is to man the ship and help defend for trouble. Good luck...Off you go!"

This is when guests enter another room. It is dark, and has a door that looks like the initial set of doors guests traveled through to enter. The retractable glass roof covers the vehicle and travelers again, and the doors open. Suddenly, a water effect rushes over the vehicles, the water and bubbles audio plays again, and it's time to explore the sea.

Scene 6- Out in the Sea: This scene is almost completely dark in the ocean. Guests can make out faint figures of coral, rocks, plant, and fish, but not much. The vehicle starts going faster through the waters, and to simulate a crazier adventure, there are mini hills in the track to add to bumpy and roughness (However, not so much like in DINOSAUR, but so like in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh to make it more family-friendly).
The radio comes on again.

"Are you guys doing well? What is the report?"

Guests can make out that there are other sounds coming from the line, but the radio starts getting very statically. Soon, only static sounds can be heard, before the radio completely shuts off leaving guests to themselves.

As the SeaDriver keeps traveling forward, more light starts to emit into the area, and guests can make out a creature up ahead.
images

At first, it looks like a shark, but it turns out to be something else. Some type of...monster...nothing that ever even seemed to be recorded by humans before. It looks threatening, and it starts to come near the vehicle. Alerts in the vehicle start going off, "Abort Mission!", but there is no radio and no way to contact the facility.

OpeeSeaKiller.jpg

The monster, which is really a large, advanced animatronic knocks the vehicle around, and as it got darker, it's hard to tell what is going on. The vehicle then says "Activating Final Weapon", and suddenly, all that is seen from around you is smoke and mist effects, and the sound of a screeching monster.

Scene 7- The Return: After the smoke and mist dissipates, guests find that they have made it back to the facility.

"Wow! That was quite incredible! And, a very close call. Well, what can I tell ya', we had no idea what we'd be faced with on this adventure, as all beauty comes with danger. However, despite that, this footage obtained is going to be groundbreaking in terms of understanding the seas, and it was thanks to you! Great job on our mission! You will now be sent back up to the surface, and thank you for your help!"

Finally, guests travel up a small incline and out through another hole in the cave, using similar effects as the first time. However, on the way, the video screens in front of guests show images and video of the adventure that was recorded by them, as well as an "on-ride" photo.
The SeaDrivers go to the unload dock, and that concludes the ride.

In sum, this new, incredible experience is going to be a new classic, which all generations can truly enjoy together, instead of targeting one demographic. Recondite Adventure has the thrills and "edu-tainment" that is thrived for in a ride, in a very "Living Seas"-esque manner. Thank you for reading my proposal, and never stop wanting to explore!

Beverly Hills Chihuahua: War of the Woof!

"My name is Papi. I am a descendant from an ancient line of proud warriors. My ancestors went into battle alongside Aztec soldiers. Today we move within the inner circles of the wealthiest and most powerful people on the planet. Who am I? The question is...what am I?"

05340262_.jpg

I am a Chihuahua!

The turn of the decade was a strange time at Disney. The sure-fire Disneyland E-Ticket hit that was Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage had opened to a summer which saw a huge draw of crowds...but word of mouth and reviews of the attraction that were less than ideal. Meanwhile, the sure-fire stinker that was "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" turned into a surprise family hit that went on to spawn a trilogy. As Nemo's reputation dwindled and Disneyland fans wondered if something could to ultize that giant footprint that was the Sub Lagoon and Autopia, the Imagineers had an idea. An absurd, goofy, somewhat brilliant idea.

One of the biggest criticisms against Nemo was the fact that all around the attraction was predictable. From the lazy retread of the original film's storyline to the non-original IP that replaced one of Disneyland's most beloved unique attractions, the Nemo ride turned out to be a bore to all but its grade-school demographic.

The new attraction which will replace both the Submarines and the long-dated Autopia will be anything but predictable. Beverly Hills Chihuahua might seem like a head-scratcher of an IP to put into Tomorrowland, but the series outlandish tone and goofy concept made the property malleable to be turned into a loving homage of silly science fiction. With that in mind, the Imagineers have come up with a brand new E-Ticket adventure which pits the pampered pups against a slew of invading aliens. This is Beverly Hills Chihuahua: War of the Woof!

Changes to the Surrounding Area

War of the Woof will be a mostly outdoors attraction taking advantage of the large wooded area on the far side of Tomorrowland that used to be the footprint for Autopia. The submarine lagoon will be turned into a tropical lagoon. On top of the waterfalls will be a giant Aztec pyramid as seen in the film's trailer, which will become another iconic fixture in Disneyland's skyline.

hqdefault.jpg

The building that used to house the Autopia queue will be re-used. The area next to the previous Autopia as well as the Disneyland Railroad station will be made to look like modern day Beverly Hills, with glitzy houses and palm trees lining the area.

Attraction Storyline

The attraction will take place entirely in the year 2020, naturally setting it in the "Tomorrow" time line. Chihuahua fashionista Vivian Ashe (played by Jamie Lee Curtis) is now in the business of designing all kinds of different technology exclusively for doggy use. One such example is a remote controlled Doggy floating device. You can see a variety of different dogs lounging in the waters of the old sub lagoon in their floaties. These are free-moving and floating advance AA creations.

Heading into the queue which serves as Vivian's giant fashion boutique (still a major part of her business) Inside we see various dogs from the film getting pampered and prepped, including trying on different outfits, getting their hair groomed and curled, and even applying "fur-die" a new color-changing invention by Ashe.

Vivian's niece Rachel is seen in the pre-show video from her trip to Mexico reporting to Aunt Viv that aliens have invaded. Vivian, concerned for Rachel's safety hatches up a plan using the recreational "Doggy Mobiles" which are electrically powered go-kart type mobiles which serve as more high tech and efficient versions of the Autopia vehicles.

The vehicles are actually driven on their own, but the illusion is that in the "front seat" (while you and four other people can sit in the two back passenger rows) is an AA talking dog. The following film characters will get their own vehicle. Depending on which vehicle you get, it changes up the story and the experience. Each vehicle comes complete with their own animal as well as an on board video screen so you can communicate with all the other characters. Each ride is a different experience!

The following characters will be represented with a Doggy Mobile.

-Papi
05340262_.jpg

Papi is the hero of the story, and as such while you're riding in his vehicle you get to experience all the bold action. It's worth noting that all the vehicles will be trackless and there will be multiple different routes along the road which you can go down.

Papi's adventure starts by pulling into the woods of the Hollywood hills. Already the alien invaders have reached North America as we see War of the World style pods hovering over us. "Aie Chihuahua!" Papi exclaims. "We gonna be in some deep doggy dooty!"

The pods fire at us and we go down into a drop where we see on a video screen that Papi's girlfriend Chloe...Vivian's prized white Chihuahua, has been captured by the alien scum. Heading down into the back area of the woods where the "car park" used to be, Papi drives right into the "mother ship" of the invading aliens which has a classic "flying saucer" look and shape to it. We go through the ship avoiding AA aliens and rescue Chloe.

We then make a dramatic drop right into the sub lagoon where we see that the Doggy Mobiles are also able to float.

tumblr_m9f0ls7LDv1r1hbp3o1_500.gif

We zoom through the lagoon and into one of the caverns, which we see is contained within a deep catacomb of the Aztec pyramid at the top of the waterfall. The finale of the attraction is the army of Aztec chihuahuas as seen in the original film's trailer performing a sort of in unison "twilight bark" on the back side of the pyramid which appears to be working to draw away the aliens. Who would have known that the key to defeating the alien scum would be dog barking!

Continuing down the woods back towards the loading area, we see Papi retreat from our car and then see him and Chloe embracing on a rock right before pulling into the unload.

Chloe:

68546-29839.jpg

While Papi's ride is heroic, Chloe's will be a more "damsel in distress" point of view. Instead of heading up the Hollywood hills and meeting with the War of the Worlds style pods, guests in Chloe's doggie mobile drive through a forest and come face to face with an AA alien, and are then led directly to the mothership only to be "rescued" by Papi. The rest of the attraction plays out the same way.

Delgado

Char_63501.jpg

The German shepherd voiced by Andy Garcia was Chloe's main companion during the original film. His sequences (before all the attraction's vehicles meet back up for the mother ship scene ) will take place in Mexico around a series of Aztec temples. We get a few glimpses of the finale but not enough to fully give it away. We get an upclose encounter with another Pod type creature before Papi informs us that Chloe has been captured and we head straight for the mother ship.

El Diablo

65192_bd.jpg

Voiced by Edward James Olmos, El Diablo is the main villain of the film. His sequences will be chasing around the Delgado vehicle, so we'll be experiencing much of the same scenes except in pursuit of the other vehicle. Throughout the ride Papi and Delgado come on the TV and say that El Diablo will never get away with his plot.

Naturally, when we get to the mothersip sequence where everything meets up, we can see that El Diablo has teamed up with the aliens to try to claim Chloe as himself.

Chico and Manuel

3805-beverly-hills-chihuahua-tippetts-chattering-class-pooches.jpg

Chico and Manuel are the film's comic relief henchmen, a duo consisting of an iguana and a rat. Chico and Manuel were sent out by El Diablo to try to round up the aliens, but as we see in their pre-mothership sequence they're failing horribly. The first couple scenes with these two go awry because of the controls of the vehicle being meant for a dog and not an amphibian or rodent. We continually feel like the vehicle is about to spin out as the duo carelessly steers. Reaching the mothership, we see Chico and Manuel betray El Diablo and join forces with Papi for the twilight bark finale.

There will be 15 ride vehicles total, three of each of Papi, Chloe, Delgado, El Diablo, and Chio/Manuel. Five cars will be launched at a time while the others get boarded, making for an efficient loading system. With the goofy 1950s science fiction tropes as well as the lovable characters from the film and the re-ride factor from the different vehicles, "War of the Woof" promises to be a howling good time for all ages!

Amount of Seats per Theater: 250
Duration: 10 Minutes
Viewers per Hour: 3,000
Viewers per Day: 15,000-21,000
Height Restriction: 40 in (102 cm)
Fastpass: No

Backstory –
The Cy Corporation has recently opened its doors for an open house. This open house will be demonstrating the newly created Cy-Bugs. Cy-Bugs are highly intelligent creatures that are great help to protecting your home, and anything else you wish to keep safe! So come now to the Cy Corporation open house, and order your Cy-Bug today!

Queue -
Guests will enter the queue and see the sleek and modern viewing gallery. Hanging from the dome shaped roof of the gallery will be a replica of one of the Escape Pods with no scratches and everything perfectly intact. As guests continue through the queue they will circle the first display case containing the armor that soldiers wear. There will be two versions the female version (the one Calhoun wears), and the male one (the one the rest of the soldiers wear). Each suit of armor gets a dedicated plaque about what it is. Continuing from the first display and winding around guests will reach the second display case. The second display case will have a hover board in midair. (Will just be held up by thin, clear, and strong wire) This display case will also have a dedicated plaque for it. As guests continue in the queue they will reach the final display case. In the case will be a robot with a monitor for a head. This robot will move around its display case with his arms, screen, and even spinning around. Guests will then wait for the next showing doors to open up and continue into the next room. Guests will typically wait 5 minutes until the doors for the next part of the queue open. (One show is ahead by the other by 5 minutes)

maxresdefault.jpg

The second portion of the queue will be inside a lab with test tubes going everywhere with bubbly liquids going through and visible gasses shooting by. As all the guests are loaded into the lab they will notice a scientist and behind him the biology and blueprints of the Cy-bugs life stages. There will also be a speaker on the wall for a PA system for communication.

Doctor Brad Scott: Welcome everyone to the open house of the Cy Corporation! Let me warn you all this Cy-Bug is not what it seems. It is highly dangerous and will attack anything it can catch including all of you. It will even turn into the very thing that it eats. Esca-
President(Over PA): Scott!!! Stop chit chatting with the visitors and send them into the viewing area!
Doctor Brad Scott: Yes, Sir! Right away, Sir!

Seating -
The seats will be arranged around the platform with the Cy-Bug. Each seat will come with a harness to keep the guests in. Similar to SGE the harness will go down to where your shoulders are located. Each harness will also come in with built in speakers. Each seat will be a prime viewing for the attraction, and there will be seats on 3 separate levels.
Stitch's_Great_Escape!.jpg

Ride Experience –
As guests get settled into their seats the harnesses will be lowered to the guest’s soldiers. Guests will see that there will be a large metal tube in the center of the room as well as several monitors on the wall. Four in total each one in a location so a specific area can see clearer. There are what seems to be 4 auto locking cyber guns attached from the ceiling just in case the Cy-bug goes rogue. Once everyone is seated the monitors turn on so guests can see the Scientist.

Scientist: Hello all of you! Thank you for coming to the open house! Here we will be showing off the newest creation from the Cy Corporation the Cy-Bug. Well in fact we are ready to show it off.

The_Cy-Bugs.jpg

Suddenly the metal tube has revealed that it is a glass circular chamber with a Cy-Bug inside. The Cy-Bug will look around spin around in circles, and will then change from glowing green to glowing red signifying it is going to eat and destroy. Soon it will start to whip its tail and “break the glass” allowing it to have free roam. All the while the scientist will be freaking out pushing buttons and pulling levers to lower the tube. Then the auto lock guns start to shoot but end up missing horribly and shoot the lights box making all lights and monitors go off. While the monitor’s audio still will function. The Cy-Bug will then start to flap its wings sending large gusts of wind everywhere. It lands on the ceiling and eats its way through the ceiling and now it’s in the ventilation system. (In reality by using a hydraulic lift system it will be lowered as a once not visible hole appears on the ceiling while the place where the Cy-Bug was standing is replaced by an empty stand)

Scientist: Oh no this isn’t good! (Guests will hear the Cy-Bug in the ventilation system overhead banging its way around as its tail brakes through and hangs downward into the room it will slowly go back up as the Cy-Bug continues) This is bad, Very bad! That thing is in the vents and if it finds the AC and eats it he will become able to freeze things with its breath. (Suddenly guests hear the Cy-Bug eating something and then an alert message comes out with the warning that the AC is broken) Great, well I’m going to look for the emergency light box to bring light back in there and help the guns detect the bug. They use light energy.

Guests will then hear the Cy-Bug flapping its wings as they get by a gust of air signifying it’s in the room with them. It will sound like its running all over the floor but can’t be seen. Sometimes guests will get to feel its icy cold breath on their necks as they hear it breathing right behind them. It will then fly over the guests and appear on the base of the display case. Now with an icy red-blueish color to it.

Scientist: Eureka! (The lights and monitors will come back online) Good now I can see again! And it’s time for you and the beast to go!

The scientist flips the right lever as the metal tube goes down and covers the icy Cy-Bug who has made the room with its breath very cold around 40 degrees Fahrenheit.

Scientist: Good now I hope that is that, and all of you don’t buy this aboni-
President: Send the visitors out!!! I found a buyer here and he’s paying now!
Scientist: Sir it’s not sa-
President: GET THEM OUT AND SEND IN THE CY-BUG! THAT’S AN ORDER!!!
Scientist: Okay sir, I will see them out and send the Cy-Bug to you.
President: Good, Now hurry it up so I can get the money!

Guests will not see the Cy-Bug, but will now hear that it is flying and entered the ventilation system to wreak havoc. The exit doors open as the harnesses lift up. The scientist reminds you to stay safe and if you see a Cy-Bug hide right away.

Episode 7 Immunity Challenge Critiques

Great job this week, IDI! Let's see how you did:

- I liked the opening paragraph, well done!
- LOVED the music as well, great choice!
- You use the phrase "die-hard" to many times in those first few paragraphs. Some variety would have been great

- You say that it takes up part of the current sub attraction, but it is just in the lagoon or the entire show building? The show building for the subs is underneath the Autopia.
tumblr_m6eyxhMiMp1qc0er4.jpg

- I like the whole "Nautical" theme, but I'm not sure how well this new ride fits into present day Tomorrowland
- I really enjoyed the queue enhancements and the vehicles.
- To be honest, your attraction seems to use lots of existing structures, which is cheap and cost-effective, but I would have liked to see a new queue building and all of that.
- I'm not sure a little mist and water jets is enough to simulate going deep into the ocean
- I like the idea of the glass roof, but a dedicated paragraph to it would have been nice, instead of bits and pieces in separate paragraphs.
- I like the idea of having some the ride not being underwater, a fresh concept
- Once the mist and water goes away, how will you simulate being underwater. I feel with the roof being glass, it'll be hard to simulate this. Maybe windows on the side and an solid retractable roof would have helped the illusion.
-
As a matter of fact, this facility was set up above ground and set here, so we still have a lot of exploring to do!
- No comments on the next few scenes, well done!
- I wish you had not had the scene so dark, you could have it be dim, but not so dark that you could barely see
- The climax is kind of ends a little too suddenly. You're fighting a giant monster and then your back at the base
- Where do guests pick up their online photo? Where can they purchase the video?

Overall, outstanding job this challenge, IDI! But, some unconvincing effects and sudden ending could be enough to cost you immunity this week.

Great job this challenge, Tiki! Let's see how you did:

- I'll start off by saying that Beverly Hills Chihuahua doesn't fit AT ALL, but I guess that's what you get :p
- I liked how in your paragraphs you acted as it BHC was the perfect fit for the land, great job with that!
- I wish you hadn't replaced the Autopia. It's a classic DL attraction. IMO, I would have preferred you reroute it
- I LOVED the exterior changes, it blended as well as BHC could
- Great job on the formating this week Tiki. I can tell you spent a lot of time on it. ;)
- How is every ride completely different? Especially with 5 different ride paths. Sure, there's room, but why take up more space then is actually necessary?
- How is one vehicle represented with 2 animals?
- Overall, I really don't have any complaints. You did an outstanding job for what you were given and I applaud you for that! Well done!

In sum, an outstanding concept this week tiki! But, a ridiculous amount of ride paths may be enough to cost you immunity this challenge.

Great job this week, tcool! Let's see how you did:

- I like how you took a different route and made an interactive theater
- I'm not sure how I feel about using Wreck it Ralph. Sure, Hero's Duty is futuristic, but I don't know how well it would blend in with the current Tomorrowland. I mean, Hero's Duty used darker colors and TL uses lighter colors on the facades and for it's theming.

- The backstory is a little bit traditional (not necessarily a bad thing). Having an Open House for a backstory is used in a multitude of Disney attractions
- The queue is nice, but I feel that you could have made something really cool or interactive because of your theme. It's a missed opportunity.
- I liked the pre-show, well done!
- I feel that you didn't really do anything to set up the story. I was a little bit puzzled as to what the show would be about until I went back and read the pre-show again.
- Once again, PROOF READ! :p I've found multiple typos throughout the proposal. ;)
- To be honest, this attraction seems like a duplicate of Stitch's Great Escape, but with Cy-Bugs
- The ending is kind of abrupt, there's no resolution. I know I wouldn't want to exit with that Cy-Bug on the loose

- A concluding paragraph would have been nice

Overall, good job tcool! But, your Stitch's Great Escape duplicate and lack of a proper storyline set-up could be enough to cost you immunity this week.

Because they have not posted by the due date, @Zweiland and @JokersWild will not be eligible for immunity. In addition, @LittleGiants16 and @Vipraa have contacted me, but did not post in time, so they are also not eligible.

ZWEILAND'S SUBMISSION
EXOPLANET ROVERS

Episode 7 Immunity Challenge
Submarine Sacrifice

We're heading across the country to Disneyland!

Once again, Immunity is back up for grabs.

For this challenge, you have to create a new attraction for Disneyland on top of where the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage currently sits. Your attraction can be anything or any ticket. But, it must complement what's already at the park. In addition, in this hypothetical situation, the monorail has been rerouted away from where the lagoon currently sits. That's it, the rest is up to you!

Your concepts must be turned in by Sunday, March 8, 2015 at 7:00 PM EST. Your submission must not include more then 15 photos and no less than 5 sentences. Now that you have been merged, you must create your concepts on your own, without the aid of others.

@Zweiland, now for your reward. For this challenge, you may choose another contestant. This chosen castaway must use an IP that you choose for them. It can be any IP that Disney has theme park rights to. This IP must be used in that contestant's concept. You may not choose @IDInstitute .

Imagineer's Ready? GO!
Why did you automatically re-route the monorail away for this challenge? You should have let us do that ourselves. The first thing I will do is re-route it back to where the lagoon currently sits.

Also, I don't intend to replace the Submarine Voyage. That's a very unique attraction, and even with the Nemo theming I think it is a pretty good one. It could be improved by a re-theme, but that's another discussion.

Instead, since you said we could, I will replace Autopia with this new attraction. I will fulfill the challenge requirements NOT by building on top of the lagoon, but by building on top of the current Subs show building in part of the same area where Autopia currently is located. The area will remain an extension of Tomorrowland.

Autopia itself has been criticized for being very smelly and loud, and from the brief period of time I spent in that area of Disneyland, I agree. Besides, race cars aren't really an aspect of the "future" anymore. I do like the theme of transportation, so I wanted to do something with that. To find inspiration, I looked at Walt Disney's original dedication for Tomorrowland:

"Tomorrow can be a wonderful age. Our scientists today are opening the doors of the Space Age to achievements that will benefit our children and generations to come. The Tomorrowland attractions have been designed to give you an opportunity to participate in adventures that are a living blueprint of our future."

The Space Age has always been featured prominently in Tomorrowland. The two attractions that currently feature the theme of space are Star Tours and Space Mountain, but these are both themed to space travel. I want to bring a new concept into Disneyland, the concept of exploring planets other than Earth. This is the future, and this will keep Tomorrowland looking ahead. Introducing... THE EXOPLANET ROVERS.

This attraction will take guests over the strange terrain of an alien planet-- and put them in the driver's seat. Just like Autopia, the Exoplanet Rovers take place outdoors, although heavily landscaped to look like something from another world. And just like Autopia, the guest controls the vehicle.

The technologically advanced ride system is very versatile. The rover, which looks like a sleeker and less utilitarian version of a rover in space today, seats two. The computer system of the ride allows it to go trackless for a portion, where the guest steers and the computer keeps the vehicle going somewhat forward/stops it from bumping into other vehicles. For one stretch of the ride, the computer guides the vehicle into a track with a motion base and sends it bumping, Indiana Jones style, through a rocky terrain.

The ride is divided into three main sections:
  • A lush forest with purple-leafed plants and large, scaled creatures, and a trail whose texture has small, spongy holes in the ground.
  • A desert with dark black rock formations and a volcano spraying freezing cold liquid. This is the area where the ride attaches to the track and bounces through the rocky trail without the guest steering.
  • A futuristic-looking city with tall spires that reach into the sky. The monorail runs between the two tallest spires.

While the rover traverses the landscape, it "takes measurements" of the planet's surface and displays statistics on a small screen that explain little details about the living and non-living things in the environment of the planet.

The guests board and exit the rover from a small "space base" that acts as the queue and the transition from the rest of Tomorrowland to the Exoplanet Rovers.

Your submission must be turned into your Project Veto PM by 7:00PM EST on March 10, 2015. If a castaway is awarded the Project Veto, they will be notified, otherwise, you will not hear back.

Also, I recommend anyone that can do this, do this challenge, as this is one of your last opportunities to receive a Project Veto.

If we MUST use a website and we CANNOT include more than 15 photos, does that mean that websites are no longer exempt from the photo limit rule?

For your challenge, you must create a new Table Service Restaurant for Frontierland. You must include the theme, backstory and overview of cuisine served.

Your submission must be turned into your Project Veto PM by 8:30 PM EST on March 15, 2015. If a castaway is awarded the Project Veto, they will be notified, otherwise, you will not hear back.

Also, castaway, I highly recommend you play for this one. The last chance to use the Project Veto will be the final 5 imagineer's council. Some of you could be on the chopping block and the Project Veto could help greatly. As, there are idols in your midst.
