The single light on in The Tower of Terror

Coming out of Fantasmic at MGM I happen to look up at the Tower of Terror and noticed a single light on in one of rides "rooms". From what I can remember you can't really see the light unless your are on the path to the Fantasmic show, but I could be wrong. What is the significance of this? (sorry if this has been asked before)

No, I saw it too and I thought to myself what a neat little extra to have one room lit up. I saw it from the Fantasmic area too.

Are you guys really serious!?! I thought EVERYONE knew what that light was!!!

That's Rod Serling's room. He stays at the Hollywood Tower Hotel after a long day of broadcasting that pre-show video in the library. The room is located on the thirteenth floor, and has all the amenities of home... with a few extras, like a direct elevator!

But seriously, I've seen it many times and wondered if it has any significance...

There is more than one window. Count how many there are..and compare it to the number of guests who disappeared, remembering who would have stayed in the same room. We should all know by now that there is a significance to everything the Imagineers do. Incidentally, the new Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, under construction at Disney's California Adventure, already has the lights on in several random windows, and they are still building it:) I saw it from my hotel room every night...I love the Imagineers!

P.S. Don't forget the Tip Top Club:)

Actually, those rooms with the lights on are actually computer-maintenance type rooms, where actual CM's make sure certian aspects of the ride are running smoothly. I learned of this on a tour a few years ago at WDW. They are off-bounds to the general public.

That's is a possibility but most likely incorrect.

In the preshow video we see the five people walking into the elevator. The rich husband and wife, the bellhop (carrying four pieces of luggage (two are large and two are small)), and the older lady with the young girl (carrying her Mickey Mouse doll). You can go ahead and even say that each person has their own piece of luggage. Those people are in the process of checking in to their room(s). Since they haven't been in the room(s) yet, they couldn't have turned on the lights BEFORE being zapped into the Twilight Zone.

The only possibility of tying that lighted window into the storyline is that the lighted room is where the ghosts are CURRENTLY staying. In the world of ghosts and poltergeists, it is common belief that the mysterious spirits are often tied to a significant location. Those spirits (in the vast majority of cases) do not have much range of travel. It's usually restricted to a certain building, room, or property. Therefore once the people were zapped into the Twilight Zone they probably weren't aware that their deaths ever happened. In conclusion, the people/ghosts are still carrying on their vacation to this day without realizing that their vacation has yet to end and they cannot leave the building.

Then again I could just be looking too much into the story myself.

That sounds about right...guests are haunted by the ghosts at several points in the ride, so it would make sense to say they haunt the entire building.
