Hi All!

I have seen the Silver Pass discussed briefly in other threads, but never in detail. Can any CMs shed some light on what it does exactly. Oh, and what is the "CM Portal" I've been hearing about?

Thanks!!

Not really all that info is for CM's only. If you know someone that has a silver pass or is a CM you can ask them, but as a CM I would rather not have all of the info all over the world wide web.

It's easy to find online, but let's just say it has to do with CM benifits. My aunt used to be a CM.

This stuff is hardly a state secret, so I don't understand why it is that people won't talk about benefits they receive while working as a cast member. The only way I'd ever consider working in a Disney park as a front line employee would be for fun and for benefits like these.

Silver pass: admit 3 guests or 3 dependents for 1 day -- unlimited days, limited admissions. All salary cast gets these as well as upper level management, supervision, etc. Also, persons with 15 years of service get these.

See this is where people don't read. Front line people are not on the disney salary so this does not apply to EVERYONE! I know the wanting to know the magic but WHY know something about something not everyone gets?

The link I provided includes information about the remaining passes -- including those available to full time Cast Members. There's every reason to expect that some front line employees are full-time, though not salaried, so there's some potential for that benefit to extend to them. I didn't include it here because this thread specifically addresses the Silver Pass.

That said, I would hardly consider employee benefits to be 'the magic'. Things like employee perks, health insurance and retirement plans are real considerations for people seeking employment and holding some thin veil of mystery over them as if they're some valuable piece of IP is absurd.

Because it makes them feel cool to say, "I know, but it's a big secret and I can't tell you!" :hammer:

Especially in the information age, where most anything can be found in the click of a mouse.

Working in the top ranks of the Walt Disney Company as some nice perks, iincluding special Disney theme park passes.
While the annual passports you can buy only admit one person into a specific theme park, these Silver Passes admits the bearer and his/her friends into any Disney theme park, world wide!
Silver passes allow the holder plus three guests into the parks.

Any CM who talks about any Disney secrets risks termination.... :p

Exactly, Most CM's prefer to be cautious about what they discuss because Disney does monitor these boards. You'll also notice these are usually the really dedicated CM's that are out there making magic everyday and so they try to preserve the magic just as Disney wants them to. I know this thread isn't about any magic secrets but same principles.

Benefits hardly constitute a secret. I'd love to see the NDA that describes exactly what it is that constitutes a 'Disney secret,' though. I'm sure it's just magical.
No they are considered part of the Disney contract and we are not supposed to discuss the specifics behind them. Its a priviledge and not a right to have those benefits, and they are not supposed to be paraded and discussed in detail. Find all the information you want on the internet, but I would not believe its accuracy, including the link you provided.
