The Seas and Strollers

The other day, I was at Epcot and was leaving the Seas when I noticed a CM in the shop arguing with a guest because they were bringing their stroller in. The CM was telling the guest that strollers aren't allowed in the building per the fire marshal and that they would have to park it outside, and that the only stroller allowed in is one that is being utilized as a medical wheelchair. My question is why do guests continue to bring strollers that aren't being used as wheelchairs since there is a sign that tells guests to park their stroller?

Because people are inconsiderate.

Or it could be that they just wanted to see the shop and thought that the stroller parking only applied to the ride?
Not a bad point here at all. It could've all just been confusion.

Though once told by the CM to keep the stroller outside, the guest was wrong to argue. When I am a guest at someone's home/facility...I don't make the rules.

Some people think they are the only ones who spent thousands of dollars and planned their WDW vacation for months in advance. We (US) are unfortunately becoming such an entitlement society - just like the seagulls say outside the Seas, "mine, mine, mine."
Totally love that!:joyfull:

Apparently fire codes will not allow strollers into The Land or The Seas pavilions.;)
I knew about the Land as there are visible signs, and a CM before you get to the building. Had to leave the sleeping kids outside with hubby while I went in and got rider switch and they wouldn't believe me that I had a younger child as they couldn't see them. I said if I could have brought them in I would have!
Didn't know about The Seas, and I don't recall seeing any signs on approach to the exit shop. But next year hopefully we'll be out of daytime strollers! (Yes I'm one of the bad parents that has kids that sleep in strollers during the evening so the grown ups can do single rider grown up rides ;) )

Yeah, there is a sign outside of the Seas Gift Shop. What's even worse is that the guest who argued with the CM read the sign and STILL took it in.

Likely just confusion : ) Especially if they have baby/stroller aged children, they may not realize that it applies to the aquarium side of things, not just the ride...and not fond of the idea of carrying an infant or young toddler around.

I try not to think the worst of people....however, arguing with a CM is just not ok. Poor CMs! Just say "Oh, I misunderstood! Thank you".

Because we have a generation that has grown up getting participation trophies so they think they are special and can do what they please.

One would think that if someone walks past a stroller lot larger than the rental car lots at Ohare, a reasonably intelligent person could presume strollers are not permitted inside. Simply put, some people are stupid and inconsiderate.
