The Relaxing Resort!

Hi Folks. Now I've read on here that some people think resorts like the values are way too loud with bright colours and giant Disney icons, too much in the face kinda thing and I can appreciate that view. But what resort at WDW makes you completely relaxed. The CBR was to me like a Caribbean island with parties going on everywhere,it was fun,but not relaxing..Take the POFQ for example.I walk into the food court and there's giant Mardi Gras masks hanging from the ceilings, just waiting for a 12 piece jazz band striking up " Oh when the saints go marching in." But yet at PORS I was having a early morning coffee (from the food court ) last year about 7.00am just outside at a table next to the big water wheel,it was so peaceful. I swear I could hear strains of " Shenandoah " as I looked down the old Sassagoula and watched the sunrise.Phew! For one moment there,I was back.Anyway, what resort at Disney makes you feel relaxed, and why.?:)

I find the grounds at the WL especially at night very relaxing as well.

We found Port Orleans Riverside to be extremely relaxing, with the quiet, secluded buildings, winding paths bordered by lush greenery, and the lazy Sassagoula River meandering through. So long as you steer clear of the main pool and the kids' activities being hosted there, the resort is peaceful and almost dream-like.

I absolutely agree. Thats why I love this resort!

It's funny you should mention the main pool & activities. Our first two stays we were at Parterre Place and last year we were at Magnolia Terrace. We never heard a peep, however when walking to the food court as we neared Acadian House, the hubbub from the main pool was noisy.Especially in the afternoon.I would urge anyone to avoid AH if they like peace & quiet in the afternoon, depending where that room was facing. If it was facing the car park,no problem, but if pool facing.

While PORS is definitely on my list, the lobby of the WL cannot be beat. The wonderful seating, the fireplace, the music is just so relaxing and beautiful. The only problem is the ruckus from the Whispering Canyon, which can be pretty loud at times. We love to find one of the little out of the way seating areas that the WL has, a few by a fireplace, and sit with a drink after the parks and restaurant are closed. Very quiet and relaxing.

For us it would be OKW we stayed there for the first time late last year. Yes the apartments are spread out and it was a good 7 min walk to get to hospitality house but we didn't mind it at all. The whole place was so peaceful even our two little monsters were quite well behaved (even had comments made about their good behavior).
