The Red Button Option

I have zero insight into WDWPro's source of information but I can think of a few 3rd party vendors that I'm shocked have survived all of this to be honest. And by "all of this" I mean just the initial closing. I'm not sure how they're still around especially now.
It doesn’t take “insider” info to assess the destruction of a lot of retail/dining venues. This has been rolling out for years and now the damn has broke.

People don’t yet realize what it will look like in a year...but it’s gonna be bad - to say the least.

There just wasn’t enough money to go around to carry the 20th century consumer model as is...not gonna rebound anyway.
Also not to beat a dead horse and apologies for not quoting the OP but whoever said college football is happening .. el oh el.

NFL I can see for the time being. It wont be easy but they have the resources. College? I've already assumed college fb is dead this year no matter what the conferences or ADs say. Just not gonna happen. Which will kill Disney because ESPN spends so much on those TV contracts. Gonna be a lot of boring Saturdays in the fall
I agree...college football is problematic/pointless on so many levels I can’t see them even trying as it stands now?

Correct.

If third party venors are not providing revenue to WDW and WDW is in cash conservation mode, why subsidize non revenue generating 3rd parties? By assuming the "3rd party bleeding of cash", WDW would just increase their own "bleeding of cash". It is in the best interest of WDW to cut loose the 3rd parties.

The hope that crowd levels would return in a reasonable timeframe are gone. Now is the time to go to Plan B.
Some companies go with third parties for various reasons. Workers comp if someone gets injured on the job, hospital costs, recovery, rehab affects company profits. If third party staff get injured on the job, that's not Disney's problem.

Yes. It was so crowded last Thursday we went and left quickly. Totally different experience than when we went in June and felt very safe outside. Big crowds and lots of lines to enter stores
Big crowds that outside of stores not inside buying anything. If there are lines to get into stores, that is a sign that the store is at max capacity. If customers are not rapidly buying and exiting, the store is a max throughput. Add in browsers that look but do not buy are a drain on capacity.

I believe many stores have a very good idea what their profitability is in respect to cash reserves. Cash Reserves/Profitability will determine how many days the store can remain open.

In my experience its worse...

I rarely saw anyone at the park/DS doing much shopping.
I think the nice part of doing shopping in the theme parks years ago is that I do not have to lug around the bags of gifts I just bought. The items I had bought during the course of the day I can pick up at the front of the park at the end of the day.

Somebody should have told these nice folks about that convenient service.

According to Ian Rapoport, if Colleges abandoned Saturdays this fall, the NFL is considering a plan to broadcast NFL games on Saturday. Assuming we get a full season this could be the best thing to happen since COVID! I don't watch much, if any, college football.

Interesting that you want to "educate" when your supposed career choice is in the entertainment field. (Which is about all your posting here is accomplishing. Popcorn-worthy entertainment.) If you truly wish to educate you can tell Disney you want to leave and go college to become an educator.

Warning: You will have to be willing to listen to others and grow/adapt your understanding based on new information or your money will be wasted.

So Disney has zero jobs other than my "supposed career choice is in the entertainment field." in your world. I know there are many cast that moved up to corp and professional positions that might take issue with that statement. LOL yawn *ignore*
