The quickest way?

I guess the best people to answer this are those members who live real close to the mouse but feel free to help..........

DH & I are staying off-site at a villa on Silver Creek (on US27), I wondered if there are any 'short cuts' to disney that avoid the 192?

Thanks as always

Take 192 for a few minutes.

Turn left at Black Lake Rd.

At the end turn left onto Sherbert..

Stay on sherbert until traffic lights.

Turn left to Osceola Pkwy...

After 1 minute turn left ... to Disney's Animal Kingdom...

OR

Stay on Osceola Pkwy

Follow the signs to the rest of the parks...

PS.
Beware of the crossing Sherbert and Osceola Pkwy... (deputy)

Thanks for the great directions, even I can follow them. Well I hope I can anyway.

Actually,a couple of corrections.
First, the name of the road is Sherberth, not Sherbert. :)

Second, when you get to the end of Sherberth, you want to turn *right* onto Osceola Parkway, not left. The only thing a left would get you to is Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Lastly, the Black Lake Road portion isn't that much of a time saver *if* there isn't much traffic on 192 at the time you're on it. Black Lake Road really only cuts out one traffic light. Black Lake meanders around a bit before meeting up wth Sherberth pretty much right at the Sherberth/192 intersection.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=...8.341384,-81.598957&spn=0.01305,0.026951&om=1

But, if there *is* traffic on 192, by all means get off of 192 as soon as possible onto Black Lake. :-)

Oh, and I don't know if people have compared the drive time or not, but there's the new Western Beltway before you even get to Black Lake Road. You could take that north to the new Western Way entrance to WDW, which would bring you to Buena Vista Drive near Coronado Springs and Blizzard Beach. Has anyone out there done a time comparison? I know part of the Beltway has tolls, are there tolls for doing what I just described?

Edit: I found a map online, taking the Western Beltway from US-192 up to Western Way would cost you $1.00.

Just a little note about Western Way:

I used this route into WDW for the first time Oct. 20 and it was fantastic! Almost no traffic once I got off the turnpike and it dumped us right into WDW. This is my new route from now on!

What's the best way to get to WDW from MCO? I'll be coming down the first week of Dec and renting
a car from the terminal.
You'll want to get a map from the rental office for sure, but it's 417. You take a small access road about a mile south of the airport, and there's signage that'll direct you to 417. It's a toll road, but much easier than I-4. It'll let you off at either 535/536/Int'l junction to WDW, or stay on it until you hit Osceola, which goes straight into WDW and the AK.

Just FYI, the small access road definetly seems like it can't be the way to go but it is...don't get worried.
