I gave you negative rep because you offended me and insulted my friends and girlfriend with your comments. I found them extremely offensive. As spaceracer said, its a complete slap in the face to all CMs. I agree wholeheartedly with him.

I agree with everyone on the rep point system. If you dont think before you post there for you are leaving yourself open. Think about if you were in another persons shoes and they said something you didnt like, how would you feel. Theres my two cents. But for a thread to be deleted it must of been bad.

Wait. If you say something that someone else dislikes, and that makes them feel bad, that is not allowed ? I hate to break this to you, but that is generally called LIFE. Everyone wants to live in their own "nirvana," but it isn't going to happen. Not eveyone is going to "like" everyone. People are going to say things that you or I or some people or many people are not going to like.

Now, technically this is not a public forum, but it IS a discussion board. With so many people that are members of this message board, there is bound to be some disagreement. In my humble opinion, I feel that unless you personally attacked by someone on this message board, anything should be able to be discussed. Now, I am considered relatively new by many of you, and I am, so maybe the rules that Steve has instituted, he did so for various reasons. But if adults cannot discuss a topic without getting riled by it and at least deciding that people will agree to disagree, why have a non-Disney discussion area at all ?

Maybe the answer is to get rid of the reputation "points," but leave the ability to leave private comments if you feel that a peticular post was improper, or that you were somehow "wronged" or leave happy comments.

I did not see civileng68's original post, so my comments and this post do NOT reflect his original post.

Steve, being the creator of this message board, has every right to do whatever he wants with any posting or any registered member of this message board. But would it be right to stifle the opinions of those who's opinion differs from yours? Would that make a good message board if everyone's opinion was the same ? If your answer is yes, then that would be like everyone agreeing that staying at All-Star Sports is the best place to stay on property, and why did Disney build the other resorts.

I fully expect bad rep points for this post.

Yes, TAC I realize that. I guess I have been one who has always gotten her feelings hurt and hate to see anyone elses get hurt. Lets just say I have seen one to many people say things that they should of thought of saying before posting or even saying.. Thats all i am trying to say. TAC. I wouldn't leave a negative rep point for you stating your opinion so eloquently as you did. However, if you had read Civ's original post, you may have a better understanding that it was an inappropriate post for this discussion board. There is freedom to discuss opinions without censorship and then there is using common sense on what is appropriate for a board that has young teens/pre-teens as members. If a poster lacks that common sense, then there are members who do and will help Steve oversee the board by leaving neg rep points--red-flagging a potential problem post.

Rep points also help users know whether to trust a poster's opinion. It doesn't prevent a poster from posting his/her opinion.

I considered that thread to be inappropriate for the forum and removed it. I am not really surprised that members felt it to also be inappropriate, and responded with reputation points.

I am so confused I have been away too long I never even heard of a point system :brick: how do you check points anyway

They can be found on you User Control Panel. They are given through the scale icon by your avatar. The green boxes show your reputation status.
