This is really one for the "locals"..but it can be tested for those who go to the same park 2 days in a row...

This is what you do

Take a penny..and HIDE it somewhere in the park...under a trash can, on top of a ledge...

Come back the next day...and like MAGIC! No matter how well you hide it..it will be gone!

The cleaning services at WDW are that good....I have tested it over 30 times and they have ALWAYS passed...

thats pretty kewl especially after people say the budget cuts have really affected the cleanliness at wdw-my hats off to the cms:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

LOL! this, to me, is somewhat ironic! i swear to you, for years my dad has been doing this! he'll hide a penny on a place that he can barely reach (column, wooden terraces, anything he can reach that you can't see without a ladder) and he's left them there for sometimes about a year, and sometimes they're still there! i know once he found a quarter he left at Italy, and i think the last time we went, he found a penny he left in Adventureland...oh...wait, excuse me...Agrabah (i'm still sore about the change! i don't think i'll ever get over it! i guess i should be happy they left parts of it the same) but yeah, it is possible to leave stuff and still find it. once we wrote a note to a friend of the family who visited Disney a lot, and we stuck it in a ziplock bag and stuck it under a barrel on Tom Sawyer's Island...and if i remember correctly, he found it! i think he left one for us under the same barrel, but we never found it.
so there ya go..sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. guess it depends on where you put it.
but i just think this is hilarious, cuz i thought my dad was the only doing this! what's funny is that someone's probably watching him on a security camera putting coins all over the place! i wonder if he's ever thought of that.....
i'll have to tell him that he's not the only one to think of the coin trick!! :D

Wow! that was you? I have a bag of pennies I have been collecting from around WDW for quite some time. I kept finding them in all these strange places..... ;)

Or maybe the CM get paid so little that they're after every penny they can scrounge.

It's strange, someone keeps trying this between the cushions in my couch all the time too.

LoL...I know im not the only one who does this, as much as Id like to think i did....I didnt do it originally ;) I "stole" the idea from an old CM friend of mine who told me about the cleaning routine of the janitors was TESTED by the higherups at the parks by doing the same thing...hiding pennies...

I personally have had no luck in getting any of my change back....tho I do know if you hide it TOO well....they wont find it.

This CM friend of yours is really a wise guy. While convincing you to leave money hidden , he probably went every night and pick up his reward!!! :lol:
That explains why he kept encouraging to leave a bigger sum..."just to test".

Talking of penny tricks, has anybody ever tried holding a penny in front of them on ToT? Does it hover in frot of your eyes?

Yes...it works...another thing you can do is ask to sit in the center seat in the back row...and then keep your legs lifted the whole time..you float a few times ;)

Hope you didn't hurt anyone with a flying quarter! That goes out the doors they open at the top and it could do some serious damage!

You can keep the middle seat for yourself. I stay away from it.

tsk tsk... the penny physics experiment in ToT has been known to cause a shut down of the ride system, by the coin falling through the cage and into a sensor, interrupting its normal function. If an alert CM is running the security cameras and sees you, prepare to be shot on exiting the elevator! ;)

LMAO....I like idea of shooting them immediately..:lol:

...while waiting in line in the basement, I was listening to some 'young adults' seriously plotting to throw a hat out of the car when the outside door opened...i interrupted them and said "if you're in my elevator and you throw the hat out I'm gonna throw you out after it, fair enuf?" (no smiles at that point) ...needless to say, they didn't take my elevator but i did let a CM know about it and he made a call to someone.
