ā€œBut Darstarr, youā€™re DVC.ā€
Yes I am DVC and we (I) have made good use out of it this year. However, when I went to book this trip there was nothing available. Nothing!!! OK, nothing in my point range. My boys are big and they hate sharing beds and someone always ends up on the floor. One time my youngest slept on the dining table banquet rather than share the pullout with his brother. Itā€™s vacation, no one should have to sleep on the floor. We didnā€™t have enough points left for a two bedroom so I began looking around for a room. I found a room at Riverside that slept 5 for about $250/night. We have done the 5 in a room thing there when the kids were smaller and it was cramped. I was not looking forward to that. Then passholder discounts came out and I got two rooms (TWO) at the original A.S.S. for less than the one room at Riverside. 4 beds and 2 bathrooms!!! SOLD!!!

Lets get to it!

Day one- November 26th
The day started like every other school day except it was AJā€™s 16th birthday so he opened presents before leaving for school.

I was suppose to work this day but I had worked the previous Friday, which is usually my day off, so my boss told me to take the day off. Yay! More time to clean the house.

The five of us were flying down on jet blue from JFK. Four of us were returning to ISP on Southwest. Ant took the dog to his fatherā€™s then took his car to ISP so it would be there when we landed on the 2nd. (we have a free resident parking sticker).

We debated taking the train to JFK but it was way cheaper to hire a car. The kids got gome from school about 2:15, ā€œthe car is here!ā€
What???
The car wasn't suppose to come until 3:00. Ant was like ā€œlets goā€. I was like ā€œdont rush me because if you rush me and I forget something you will be sorry besides he is 45 minutes early so he can waitā€. And yes, I said it just like that, as one long run on sentencešŸ˜€.
We left at 2:30. I didnt forget a thing.

Next was food. I know what you are thinking, this time it was Ant who was hungry!
We wandered through the marketplace in search of food. We ended up at, ummm, docking bay 7? (Yes that is a question.)

Yes, the receipt proves it. Docking Bay 7. Ant had the shrimp dish. Plus we ordered two beers. Yes Disney food is expensive butšŸ˜± $45 for a small shrimp dish and two beers??

AJ and Dre were looking around a little on their own. They had money burning a hole in their pocket I suspect. Dre met up with us when he heard we were eating.

Dre bought some crystal thingy.

And Dre bought some food.

On our way out I saw this stool and thought it was cool.

Dre is a big Star Wars fan. AJ is a fan of all things dronelike or remote control activated. I asked them if they wanted to make a droid and they both, of course, said yes. The droid maker is allowed one guest. 2 plus 2 is 4 and we were a party of 5. It was ok because X was sleepy so I sent him to muppets to nap and the rest of us went to our droid depot reservation.

Holy Hops...$13.25 for what looks like a 16 oz. cup of brewski...!!!!!! :eek:o_O
I can get 6 24 oz. cans (and, I have :cautious:;)) of the cheapo 10% ABV stuff at our local corner convenience store for less than $13, including tax.
I thought Disney beer was expensive at $8 a few years back, but, WOOF...!!!!! :cyclops:

There's one across from the Droid Depot. We saw it and thought it was very cool! People were testing and playing with their new droids.

I can't remember if there were benches or a beer cart nearby, though. It was dark and I'd just had a very strong drink at Oga's. šŸ˜
Oh man! We totally missed it. Rats! I like Galaxies Edge or Black Spire Outpost or Batuu or whatever it is called but it all looks the same to me. I need to spend a little more time to ā€œget to know itā€. At one time, about 29 years ago, all of AK looked the same to me toošŸ˜®.

Love the bbq pix!!!
Yes that beer was expensive but it was the gold squadron lager which I love. If you read my september TR you may remember I mentioned it is brewed about 20 minutes from my house but I can not get it anywhere but Galaxies Edge. So I splurged.

Thanks...!!! :)
I totally get the splurge on one of your favorite beers, especially if ya' can't get it anywhere else, and I've spent my share on beer at WDW over the years, but, I'm still just blown away by the price...!!!!! :eek:o_O;)
To offset some of that I've always taken a bus to DTD/DS, then walked across the street to the Hess to load up on non-Disney-priced brew to take back to our resort...!!!!! šŸŗ:hilarious:

Sorry for the likes bomb- My laptop and phone both took a crap, so I am catching up on trip reports- With no stalls and mess ups!!! Yay!
Thank you for the Disney Duck Tag. Yā€™all know I love my Disney Duck pics. :)

And glad my son wasnā€™t the only one hanging hand signs in pics as a teen. He did it to discourage me from taking so many pics. Me, being clueless and ditzy as all get out, had no idea what they meant until he let me post them on FB when I had it. He even had my mother do one with him once and I snapped away. šŸ˜‘ Teenagers. šŸ™„

We left the Droid place and happened upon these guys.

It may look like they are hassling AJ but it was the other way around. They asked him to step aside and, well, he did not. So then they questioned him about his droid.

Then I checked MDE to see the wait time for MF and yay! I said when the wait got under an hour we would get in line.
F7F175FC-EDE6-4B08-A657-941511125ABF.png

The only problem was X was snoozing in the muppet theatre.
I texted him to come to MF NOW! Rookie, he must not have been on the end of the row and could not get up and leave.
With an hour wait in front of me I decided to run to the ladies room.
The MF line was outside the outside-inside part of the queue and we had jumped on the end. I asked a CM about the ladies room and she (Disney) pointed to where it was and assured me I had plenty of time before we would be inside the outside-inside part of the line.
What the heck are you talking about Darstarr?
Think of Itā€™s a Small World. (Is the song in your head now?) The line sometimes is longer than the beginning of the queue which is outside but somewhat inside. Does that make sense? Then the line continues over the bridge where it is undeniably, inside. The MF line was similar. We were outside the official queue but the official queue begins outside before moving inside.
Long story short, even though I ran, didn't dawdle and didn't dry my hands after washing them I didn't make it in time. They were just inside the outside part of the queue. They must have made friends because the two men behind them motioned to me to come. People were very nice and let me pass without a problem. But when I got there...problem. X wasn't there. He was able to join us just before we went inside. We let about 20 people go in while we waited so as not to hold up the line.

How nice of you. Many people just come barging through the entire queue to ā€œjoin their familyā€. Iā€™ve suggested at times that their family could simply wait for them to catch up. I often get looked at like Iā€™ve just punched them in the gut! Lol

Personally I am ok with someone joining their party. Stuff happens. Kids who didnt have to go to the bathroom 5 minutes ago all of a sudden need to go, NOW! (That happens to me toošŸ˜‰) And sometimes parties get separated while queing up. ECVā€™s or strollers need parking. Things were forgotten in the ECV or stroller etc.

What bothers me is when there is one person in line and is joined by 2, 3, 4 or more. That is wrong!

Yeah this is pretty much what I was referring to. I do know things happen, but sometimes itā€™s obvious people are trying to game the system. Iā€™ve kept more than a few groups of teenagers from doing this. I have gotten some eye rolls but most of them donā€™t feel like confronting the large angry man.

Ha Ha. AJ would have a go at you. (I have so many gray hairs because of that kid)
