Does anyone have pictures of the Old Pasta Piazza? Its been a long time since this was an operating restaurant, and many of us are curious as to what it all looked like when it was operating? Also, what was at Fountain view before it was Fountain view? Was it a seating are like it is over by Electric Umbrella?

Come on people, post some pictures from those early digital camera pictures you have vegetating in your hard drives.;)

Pasta Piazza.. if you ever bothered to go inside and look *teasing* has been sort of like a time capsule since it closed.

How it looked until about a week ago is exactly how it looked when it operated. The big strange circular things hung down from the ceiling with their neon accents and black and white checker-flag motif. Seating was in tables and chairs that were arranged nicely until they became sparse then nearly non-existent right up until Character Connection opened. The place was literally pilfered away piece by piece.

The counter service location itself was right there, just behind a little blue tarpy wall, all black and white tiled, neon accents, just waiting to reopened - and it even did once just prior to them starting Character Connection. It flopped, because they didn't send anyone to it or advertise it. Electric Umbrella had lines out the door while it had maybe 3 people - but I had a nice bowl of pasta. This was what - in the last year or so? Really not long ago...

Fountainview.. Has been the way it is since Innoventions was built. Used to be something else - dunno what - but when the central plaa was all lakes and planters, the Fountainview's main "view" as we know it seems to have been a water feature (as i've seen in a picture), so it obviously didn't exist as we know it.

Pasta Piazza used to be Sunrise Terrace back in Communicore days. Fountainview, as Merf says, used to look out onto the original water and grass-based plaza and fountain. Fountainview was in a later Communicore addition, built to extend Sunrise Terrace during `82 construction - it was a late-in-the-day addition. Back then there were plenty of eating places in Futureworld - add to this Stargate in Communicore East, the Odyssey, Pure and Simple, the Coral Reef and Farmers Market!

Incidentally Charecter Connect was in the old `94 WDI Imagineering Labs, which in 1988 was Expo Robotics.

I miss this restaurant. It used to be my favorite place to eat in Future World. They had a great eggplant dish. It never felt as crowded as The Electric Umbrella.

Anyone have any pics of Adventureland Veranda? I enjoyed this counter-service restaurant for years and then they closed it to hold cast member events and such.

Funnily enough 10 minutes ago I scanned a pic of the exterior. Let me import it.

Oh man, do I ever miss those old Future World restaurants. The Farmer's Market, Pasta Piazza, and the Odyssey were all great. (Don't even get me started on a Farmer's Market vs Sunshine Seasons rant... :) )

Ironically, the Odyssey used to have quasi character meals (in the form of a live show you could see while eating), but now serves as a convention / special event location.

I was going to reply to the previous post with the exact same thing as you just did. Crazy!!! Hehe!
Guess you saw it too? It`s bugging me now, I have a video I watched recently with this show being sung somewhere else. Can`t remember where.

BTW; welcome!

Pizza memories

Was Pasta Piazza the place that sold the Mickey shaped Pizza's?

Seem to remember eating there in the past..

I don't think so. I think the Mickey pizzas were at Electric Umbrella, after Pasta Piazza closed.

What I remember from Pasta Piazza (and earlier from the predecessor to Electric Umbrella) was the rectangular pizzas. They were deep-dish; I think each was one of six slices, which would mean four corner pieces and two center pieces. Corner pieces would have two edges, the center pieces just one and so less dry.

They were exceptionally evil pizzas, with lots of cheese, great sauce and a wonderfully doughy crust. The combo (in the yellow box) would have pepperoni and tasty greasy round sausage nuggets.

Outstanding theme park food!... also sold at Minnie Mia's pizzaria in the village (now a Wolfgang Puck QSR), and at Soundstage in the Studios, Tommorowland Terrace at MK and no, there was no Animal Kingdom at the time. Before Minnie Mia's, the pizza had been sold on the other side of the Marketplace, near the current Mc Donald's.

Thus ends the history of pizza at WDW.
