We're probably going to get it at Wal-Mart at midnight on Saturday, because they appear to be the cheapest, and I don't want them to run out by the next morning. I can't wait to read it, but it'll probably be a while before I finish... That means I can't read this topic again for a while. :p

Same here, Vader. As tempting as it will be, I refuse to look at this thread before I finish...which may be quite a while (then again, it could be less than two weeks...who knows?)


btw, does any one else think that Mr. Weasley has Sirius' motorbike? I mean, he is obsessed with Muggle artifacts, and a motorbike (even a flying one) is definitely a Muggle artifact.

i got 2 copies of the book yesterday. i know not one person will believe me. no one believed me when i got halo 2 early too. i'm just able to get things early, so i picked this up.

i'm in chapter 12. it's good so far. but i want to finish it before friday at midnight.

If you've really got it early, then tell us the name of the chapters w/o looking at the thread.

Tell us how long it is, Mr. I have it early...nope, you're right, I don't believe you got it early. If you did, you'd be arrested for admitting it...either that or the people that gave it to you would, as it is "illegal" to let things out before their release date, especially something like this.

Perhaps you stole it!

Really? What's Chapter 2 called?

I honestly can't wait for HBP. It's gonna be sooo good! I'm almost finished with OotP so my mind is refreshed for the book.

Godric Gryffindor gets my vote for HBP. Look at what JKR gave us as a clue to a new character-

(He) looked rather like an old lion. There were streaks of grey in his mane of tawny hair and his bushy eyebrows; he had keen yellowish eyes behind a pair of wire-rimmed spectacles and a certain rangy, loping grace even though he walked with a slight limp.

I believe him. Remember, the book stores already have them. They aren't under lock and key by Scholastic anymore. Yes, papers signing away your first born child had to be signed by the bookstores not to release it early, but I don't believe that's failsafe, especially for folks that work there.

I personally don't want to be the first person to read and finish the book. For OotP I got it at midnight and started reading immediately and every free moment I got. I finished in about 3 or 4 days. And then had to sit around and wait for everyone else who took their time and actually savored the book to finish before I could even talk about it. By then, the few details I remembered (because I was more focused on speed than comprehension) were gone.

So, it's been a long wait for this book. I'm going to go slowly and savor it. So you can enjoy your early copies and finishing before the release all you want. I'll enjoy the book.

Ok. So here's my weekend:

Saturday (from midnight till the book is completely read...cause I just won't be able to wait any longer once it's released to find out what happens :p ): I finally get to meet the HBP!!!

Sunday (around 3:00pm): I finally get to leave for WDW!!!!!

WOOT! It's sure gonna be a zip-a-dee-do-dah day for me at work tomorrow (Friday) - just 8 more working hours till the REAL fun starts!!!

Which is why they put it on the back of the book and released it for us Potter Freaks! They know how to get us!

I'm far too giddy about this. Is it wrong to be 28 and the biggest event you're looking forward to all summer is HP release? :lookaroun

I can't wait. The B&N I'm picking mine up at is having Busch Garden's come out with animals! I have no idea what I'm getting into! :lol:

I don't plan on reading this fast. As Nicholas says, go slow.

Remember, it's gonna be another two years (at least) before we get the final installment. Enjoy it.

Has anyone noticed the abundance of slug references, BTW? Heehee...
All I can think of is how Crabbe, Goyle, and Malfoy were turned into slugs on the Hogwarts Express...
I'm not giving in to speculation. I've been patient this long... I have my FictionAlley Half-Blood Prince shirt, my TimTams and tea. I'll be all set tomorrow when the book arrives.
