Sorry to start another thread. I was going to post to the thread "RANDY - News on the WDW CD" but I figured if I posted a new thread with me as the author it would appear more 'official' and not get lost in all the messages lately. Anywho...

As I mentioned in a previous post…

With the box set taking nearly 5 months just in studio time alone, coupled with the fact that Walt Disney World moved up it’s request for the official album, I could not do all that I wanted for the WDW CDs. So I decided to make the WDW album a little retro as well – with both discs coming in at over 77 minutes each. I know that many of you already have some of this material, but the casual Disneyworlder doesn’t -– and it makes for some great nostalgic listening to hear the themes from Horizons followed by Mission Space’s “Destiny”.

I also would not have an opportunity to re-issue some of these great old tracks were it not for an event such as this. As it turns out, this album is the most comprehensive collection of music from Walt Disney World we have ever released.

Here’s the playlist for "The Official album of the Walt Disney World Resort: The Happiest Celebration On Earth"

Plans are already in the works for WDW’s next album (which will continue to be a 2 disc set from now on). In the meantime, I hope you will enjoy the nostalgic trip of “The Official Album of the Walt Disney World Resort: The Happiest Celebration On Earth”.

If you see a track title and wonder if it's a 'new version' (Like One Little Spark), rest assured that it isn't. This is "Remember When" time. We'll get to that later – For keep in mind... "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow".

:sohappy: :sohappy:

Can you believe this? Notice the separation of The Tiki Tiki Tiki Room and Friend Like Me. VERY considerate. Having Kitchen Kabaret next to Soarin'? That's symbiosis. And Fun to be Free will surely whisk away Test Track Medley.

Post your comments here to Mr. Thornton, I will forward them for you.

TRACK LIST FOR THE DISNEYLAND SET:

Randy Thornton said:
With the recent posts detailing the “Selected Track Montage” that I did as a promo for the set, I figured it’s about time to break the news. Below you will find a description of “A Musical History of Disneyland” as well as the playlist. Who ever deciphered the Montage did a pretty good job, but it left you all asking more questions. I hope that I will be able to answer your questions with the following text. To borrow an old Read Along phrase –

Let’s begin now…

“A Musical History of Disneyland” is the largest and most elaborate boxed set I have ever produced. I have maxed out just about every disc with each averaging between 75 and 80 minutes. All told, it clocks in at 7 hours 41 minutes and 52 seconds. No expense was spared in bringing you the best sound possible. Nearly every track was built and restored expressly for this set.

The book, “The Sounds of Disneyland” is a 12x12 fully illustrated 72 page cloth covered hard-cover book – written by Stacia Martin and art directed by Bruce Gordon. Beyond Stacia’s fascinating text, Bruce created a layout overflowing with pictures that I’m sure many of you have never seen before. It’s truly stunning!!

After a brief window of exclusivity (until September 2005) the boxed set (minus the vinyl) will be available Nationally. Suggested retail is $125 (with and without the vinyl). I believe this price to be an incredible bargain!!!

Though the press release posted on this site earlier mentioned that it is a Limited Edition, it only means that the set with the vinyl is Limited to 5000 units and will be available at Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and Disney Direct. That is all.

And you did read correctly! This set will be available at Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and Disney Direct. I personally suggest that you order from Disney Direct the week of April 25 to insure that you have the best chances of being in those first 5000 orders so you may get the vinyl.

Mail order and in the parks. I will post release date when I find it.

This is so great. I own all of these songs, and listen to at least three of these on a weekly basis. But to see them rereleased brings them back in so many senses.

Of course, the great majority of Disney songs are lost, and, as Mr. Thornton pointed out, in today's Disney, this was his only chance to squeeze some of this through.

So the Kitchen Kabaret Players and Dreamfinders will find their ways in thousands of homes to enchant children again...

The NEXT OA will most likely have the new Epcot Entrance Medley, as well as the new One Little Spark. Although I was anticipating these, I know that this is much more important considering the circumstances.

Great, great, great news...

Thank you, Mr. Thornton!

Did anyone else notice that on the Disneyland album, it says "Space Mountain - Day Track". I guess the rumors of a different night/day soundtrack are true.

The "Monorail Song" sounds interesting. But I am most looking forward to the "Remember...Dreams Come True" music.

I wish some more MK music would of been included, like Cinderellabration music, instead of CSC music.

Now THAT is a CD I definetely want. Look at all the classic tunes on there..WOM, Horizons, TWO COP songs, plus a lot of newer stuff like the music from Soarin' and Mission Space and the 50th song by Leanne Rimes. Awesome new official album.

That will be available next time. Randy had his only opportunity to get some of these older tracks out... :D

I'm looking forward to both CD sets! I can't wait for November when I go to WDW and then March when I go to DLR! :sohappy: (Both trips are just about confirmed. My dad is about ready to go ahead and get the tickets to DLR next March!) I love all the older songs on the WDW album from attractions past. I already have many of them on CD, but this set will still be a must have for me!

And I had been planning on waiting until my DLR trip to buy their set, but me thinks I'll have to get it sooner. I am definitely ordering from disneydirect as soon as I get out of class on April 25 (which is like 10 AM). It will be an early birthday gift from me to me (my birthday is a week later on May 1!). I want to be one of the first 5000! (And call me stupid, but you still get the book with disneydirect, right? I know it won't be included in the nationwide distribution and I definitely want it.)

And Grizz? Will you tell Randy Thornton thanks for me? I really appreciate all the work he has done to give us fanatics a nice musical souvenir of the last 50 years. Thanks!

I just saw Randy's posts over at magicmusic.net, and I nearly wet myself over all these track lists. :D I go away for a few days, and all the info comes out! I can't wait to get my hands on these CDs! I'll definitely be shelling out the $125 for the boxed set, and then get the 2-disc DL set as well. May 3 can't come soon enough!

:sohappy: Awesome! I'm so glad to see some of those vintage songs, especially the ones from Epcot. Do we have a retail price for the WDW album? Looks like I might be pleading with my manager for more hours to save up for that DLR album as well. Thanks for a great two collections of some of the best music Disney has to offer!
